It's so peaceful out there .loved stopping at the mad Greek getting one of those famous Chile Verde burritos and setting my cruise on the rig pulling my load of cement to mercury oh I miss those days.

Really love the compound. Just enough neighbors to not feel too isolated but exceptionaly quiet

If you girls plan on staying there the rest of your lives perhaps you should find a engineer that can help improve the climate control in your living spaces, use solar panels or small windmills for battery storage, rain water runoff storage for growing vegetables & flower gardens. That much property has plenty of potential, after all, a day will come when you lose your "Wanderlust" & prefer to just sit back & relax.

Do not waste money on solar panels for daily power needs . In Israel every home uses passive solar Hot water heaters. If you do get an Emergency Solar power system.

The porch will help a lot to keep the sun off and am fixated on the banks of shale? rock around the compound. Same flat sided stone goes for bucks in so cal for decorative walls n structures. I totally picture a righteous hot tub with a BBQ or fire pit made out of the stuff under your new shade. And yes you are blessed, by being who you are and staying true to that. Thus why you attract such wonderful and giving people, because you are worth it n we are blessed to have you !!

As a fellow desert dweller the first thing I noticed was how green your view looked . It is a beautiful area. I am a DIY junkie so I love seeing your progress on your project. It will be worth it in the end . Hope your cool cider hit the spot.
I was one of the viewers pushing Sarah very hard to go with the mini-split system for cooling (and heating too if necessary). So glad it is working well. Now she and her sister have great comfort, and the porch addition will be another fabulous enchancement!

I absolutely 💯 % love this channel. I live my "desert" life vicariously through you Sarah! I really miss the desert, hot or cold, exploring and getting to know people, like myself who love traveling in this amazing and awesome desert. I live in the Southwestern Appalachian's now, and yeah it's pretty here, the fall colors are just starting to appear. But, you're correct, Autumn in the desert is fantastic. It's like the desert takes a deep breath and relaxes. Thank you so much. 💓 I can relate to you and even have a quirky male friend 🤪 who's my buddy and lives right next door. (In fact, he's my landlord.) But we each have each other's backs.

Darn good planning and execution of roof extensions. Your friends know their stuff. Thnx for the update, expecting more cool videos. Going to glass house about 11.10.22. Taking my brush jumper k1500, silver pickup to good to scratch. Got part way up, sage, etc really grown out into the trail, sooo!
The patio roof system will pay for itself over the years in energy savings I’ll betcha. Keeping the hot Sun off of the house. Great job.

You could coat the roof tiles white to reflect the Heat. Put Solsr panels on the South faceing porch roof. Run a solar powerd attic fans to move the air out of the ceiling. Hang shade bambu roll down curtins.
A few solar panels could at least eliminate your electric bill while the sun is up during the heat if the day. 🌞
Building the covered porch on the west and south side will really help keep the heat out of the walls will help keep the house cooler. May even enjoy being home in the summer

you're right, i just fully thawed out from winter about 2 wks ago & got my summer stride on--able to make in the gym 4 days/wk (rollback to younger days.) now it's chilling down again & i'm about to freeze & will loose all my mojo. i do much better in the heat . . .

It's starting to feel comfortable here in San Antonio, Texas too. It's always hot and humid here throughout summer, makes me miss the dry west sometimes. I also prefer hot climates, but I appreciate the cool times of year that allow for all day outside exploring. Thanks for another great video. The Desert is beautiful when it finally does rain. Rare wild flowers will pop up.
It rained recently.... unfortunately, when it rains, it pours....
