Fantastic, It's great to see the boats actually on the water sailing and rowing. Beautiful videography some of the best I've seen anywhere! Many Thanks
Nice to sea guys here in the UK our Dinghy Cruising Association is thriving although not limited to just wooden vessels . Even tiny 11 foot home built Mirror dinghies join the cruises with boom up tents.
It has been known for quite some time that the "wing shape" has very little to do with the drive of the sails (although many sailors still believe that it does). The wing shape is the best in order to get the last little bit of drive, but its not required for the boat to sail, so boats with lateen style rigs (like 0:49) will sail better on one tack than the other. Tom Whidden's "The Art and Science of Sails" covers this in detail.
This video was a joy to watch. Thank you.
Sehr schöner Film. Ich liebe diese Boote und ihren Charme und Charakter. Viel Spaß

No fair!!! Why was I not invited? Thanks for posting this video. These are some beautiful boats and what a great setting!
Cool event. Would love to row a boat in that one day!!
I remember 2010 stopping for lunch on that low tide sandbar that started to disappear when we were leaving
Melonseed sooooo elegant!
I don't understand how the sails at 0:49 still work when the boat tacks and the wing shape is pressed against the mast.

The vessel on the left at 0:51 - is that an Auray punt?
