Please somebody help me with the boat at 1:10, is that an Ilur or an Ebihen? I can recognize a Navigator after that.

I agree it's really classy. Is it an Iain Oughtred design?

@@pseudon645 Thank you for identifying the design. I should have known it was one of his designs. I really like his work.

    Nicely filmed,
Sad that no one on the WoodenBoat boat couldn't identify (speak to us, the viewer) the name of the designs as they filmed them. Perhaps one of these years they (crew on WoodenBoat boat) will find someone that can name the boats so that the "viewer" can learn something as well as enjoy the view.

What is the design name of the clipper-bow sailboat at 3:20? She's a beauty.

That's my boat, Frisky Lady, I've had her since August, 1979. She is a Pepper 15. There was a company, Salt Marine that existed from about 1977 to 1983 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. They made 3 boats, a 14 ft pulling boat called the "Glass Slipper", the "Pepper 15" and a 19 ft gaff sloop with a cabin called the "Salt 19". The boats were designed by William E. Hitchcock, who a renowned boat modeler. I don't know how many Glass Slippers and Salt 19s still exist. I am aware of about 6 Pepper 15s. There are probably a lot of boats out there.

Looks as though it was based off the friendship sloop

@@mikeduncan3790 Hi Mike, I am seriously impressed with your clipper-bow. Great lines and a beautiful vessel. Do you have any idea how I could get plans and build her myself?

@@lacleman9394 Howdy, Lac, an interesting idea, building one. William Hitchcock is deceased, I talked to his daughter maybe 15 years ago and she was unaware of any plans or drawings. Salt Marine (SM) has been out of business since 1983. I do have a SM sales listing that has a minimal lines drawing on it, that could be a starting point. The original boats were fiberglass hulls with wood trim. You could make a wood hulled version but it would be challenging.
A better approach might be to look at the Somes Sound 12 1/2, a glued lapstrake design by John Brooks, www.brooksboatsdesigns.com/Somes%20Sound%20main/SomesSoundmain.html . No clipper bow, per se, but certainly a buildable boat with a live designer to contact for support. It also requires wooden boat building skills but is certainly a manageable project. It is also a very sweet boat to sail.
      Cheers, Mike
