I get really excited when I see one of these old Legacy Wagons out and about. They definitely have gotten difficult to find compared to the equivalent Outback or Forester.
That 0-60 time is kind of sad, I wonder if something was wrong with this test car? I thought about getting one of these but my 1991 Honda Accord LX Wagon with it's fancy 4-Speed Automatic(with 2 Overdrives!) and that 130HP F22A1 2.2L 4-Cylinder goes 0-60 in 8.6 Seconds when I timed it. That's with 210k miles on it! The transmission has a sport mode that firms the shifts up and uses a separate shorter overdrive that actually makes it a 5-Speed Automatic technically..
The 0-60 time is adequate for what it is. Hell, a modern legacy 2.5 NA does it in 9 seconds, and an Outback about 9.5. the XT 2.4 Turbo livens the cars up however.

AWD Subarus with the 4 cylinder and Imorezas/Crosstreks are still underpowered and slow to this day. I'm surprised the 0-60 wasn't slower.

@@GeeEm1313that depends on which 4-cylinder you have...
1995 actually as stated in the video. But love how John says while Subaru has never been an import giant, and look at how popular they are today!
It's had its pros and cons, Subaru seemingly can't keep up without quality suffering a touch, and they're not handling the issues well...
He says the engine is a horizontally opposed 4 cylinder but the banner on the screen says inline-4
It was a made for public television show of the 90’s 😅 I’m actually shocked at how well it has aged as far as watching
I like the Legacy but can’t stand those wheels!
