  • Its a bit early but I had spring fever and thought this would be a fun time to share. You will see Stoneground, Dshalie, American Journey and Prodical Son. Most of the watercolors are from The Mint Gardener on the Stoneground site, but you know I cant leave anything as, so I added and got a pretty blue palette to put it all in.
    Thank You For Watching!

😍 What a beautiful Spring palette!! I like seeing you gather the paints onto the brush because then we can see if there's a shift from pan to paper, and also see how easily each paint rewets. In the future, if there is any pigment information for the paints, could you please consider including it on your swatch sheet? It's super interesting to see what brands choose what pigments.
    🙏😊 Thanks for sharing!!

Yes I do pigments usually, it’s harder for handmade paints, but I will try and hunt them down. I’m glad it helps seeing them pan to swatch. Thank you.

Sooo rich and opaque! I like seeing how you wet them and then swatch. It tells me they wet super easy without much hassle.

Lol. Like me, I have to fill the palette to top capacity or I'm not satisfied. Just like when I make a pot of soup, same thing. Lol. I really like those little pans, so that they fit good. Karen from Canada ☺☺💖💖

I have the same watercolor box. It's supposed to be copper, not brass. Not sure how true that is, although it sure has a nice, hefty weight to it. And it's beautifully made.

Yes the palette does feel nice and is made well. It’s painted so I will have to see how it wears, I’m hoping it does well. Thank you.

Those are beautiful colors and the pallet is gorgeous. You should try my honey handmade colors at Jax watercolor. I think you would go crazy over them. They become really popular lately. We only launched at six months ago.

    Love the turquoise/blue palette ❤
Is the inside plastic or metal? I’ve seen it but couldn’t tell what it was made of inside. I believe it is brass outside for sure.
    Enjoyed the video

Do you get spring fever in the cold winter months?

    • @phillipstroll7385
      @phillipstroll7385 6 місяців тому

No. I prefer the winter. I enjoy new life and longer days. Which only happen in the winter. Every day from spring to winter gets shorter and all life dies. Only winter begins a new life cycle and each day get longer.
People only think they dislike the winter because they are followers and not leaders. They repeat what they hear. As UA-cam has proven. Once one person does something the rest of the monkeys are sure to follow. Change your perspective and you'll change your world. I find that once I began to look, the winter months offered more color, challenge and life than any other season. One merely need know how to look.

I am experiencing a long depression and anxiety - I have found in my surprise I am enjoying the winter too! Sitting and accepting my feelings instead of wanting spring has helped. Watching birds on my branches every day - isn't that life as it is?

Here's a real crazy question for you. When do you plan on actually painting with these paints? Swatching tells absolutely nothing about how paints perform. If someone wants to see the colors they could simply look at the swatch cards on the website.
Also, why do you need a "spring palette"? With the limited traditional color palette one can paint everything under the sun. Including florals, urban, cityscapes, ocean beachscapes, landscapes, portraits, etc etc etc. Why exactly are you promoting buying paints one will NEVER EVER recoup the cost of? Not only that this behavoir leads to mediocrity. An artist must know how to mix their own colors. Otherwise they aren't an artist. They are a consumer. Which there is no harm in being. That's wonderful but let's call it what it is. I couldn't care less about swatching. What I want to see is how the paints perform while in use. Do they push one another, do they mix well, do they blend on the page or seperate, do they run or are they easily controlled? Are their color shift equal across the board so value remains intact. These are the things that are important.
Btw, where do you buy your floral stamps from and are you using archival ink? Because that ink didn't smudge for nothing.

I sketch the flower just out of my head, made up flower. I used platinum black carbon ink, in a fountain pen.
