Behind the sarcasm and great humor, Pewds has rock solid advice I've never heard before. The intrusive thoughts trick is amazing.
Can confirm. The silliness is important - you wouldn't make a fool of yourself if it didn't work, which makes it work.
His trick is similar to mine actually which I thought was cool! For me, I always imagine that thought I don't want in my head at the moment as a pane of glass playing the thought on it. Then think of shattering that glass, and it breaking into pieces, and I keep shattering it until it goes away. Even if it shows up on a new pane, I break it until it goes away, imagine it shattering in different ways, etc. It's something I had to repeat more when I was younger and now maybe 1-3 times of breaking the glass gets rid of it.
Another great tip I can share is instantly calming your anger. So when you are angry, and it really takes over your thoughts, the solution is pretty funny.
Try to make this feeling silly by talking to yourself in your mind or out loud things like “on Im so angry, so pissed of” in a the most stupid voice you can create. By making fun of this feeling you will instantly get rid of it as you’ll realize it’s a nonsense emotion. I recommend it, works great 😊

My method is to "let it go", As in, when it comes up, don't give it any push, don't give it any validation. Just say -_- okay, and let it have it's moment in the corner while you're off doing your own thing. For me fighting with it presents it with a challenge so it doubles down with distressing me. Like a toddler having a tantrum at home, ignore them and they'll realize that's not an effective way of getting your attention. Eventually it comes back and say's what's really bothering it without it going super crazy.

I was so shocked to hear your advice in this video and it's so concise, simple and sincere. And it makes sense. I hope that I'd feel better, more relaxed, get my energy up again after trying out the advice you have given (along with other self-reflective thoughts and advice from other friends/family).

I really like when Felix does videos like this. Honestly he could be talking about anything and I'd probably enjoy it, but these videos always give me things to consider in my own life and how I could help myself more. And they are just really chill videos to watch and make me happy. It's incredible how well Felix and Marzia are doing and how happy they are.

The thing is I've heard a lot of this advice but it hits different coming from pewds - it doesn't feel like I'm being talked down to or yelled at, or like I'm expected to be "inspired to change my life around." More like I'm just being reassured by an old friend. It was really nice, thank you Felix :)
4:04 I do the same with negative thoughts or just distracting thoughts when i need to focus. i imagine the thought physically leaving my head and it works 100%. It took a long time to make it work since you have to program your brain basically and it takes a while but in middle school i had severe anxiety and i somehow developed this method and it worked for me and i still use it today 15 years later.

Somehow hit me, I'm tearing up 😅 damn in hindsight I know everyone struggles with confidence but not having people around you that can reassure you really sucks. Its funny to me how im the same age as felix. Yet i get teary eyed at how far he has come in life, and his wisdom helps me open my eyes. I tend to be a closed book but this helps 🤘
funny you said that everyone hated my history teacher but i loved him. i was always put in the “dumb class” i was so left behind in everything. he wouldn’t put up with any bullshit and i was so excited to learn. history is still my favourite thing to learn about all thanks to him not being defeated by chaotic teenagers. idk why watching this got me thinking i’m hoping i’ll be able to write him a letter to the school
