Africa is home to many amazing venomous snakes. This continent has many ecosystems. We will explore deserts, savannas and rainforests of sub-Saharan Africa. This first episode is about venomous snakes living in deserts. Kalahari desert and other dry regions of southwester Africa are home to deadly Cape cobras (Naja nivea). You will see several color morphs, including a stunning yellow cobra. This snake will fight with meerkats! This episode also shows 3 species of dwarf adders, the Horned adder (Bitis caudalis), the Many-horned adder (Bitis cornuta) and the Namaqua dwarf adder (Bitis schneideri). Another small viper from arid regions of Africa is the Northeast African carpet viper (Echis pyramidum). East Africa is also inhabited by the colorful Red spitting cobra (Naja pallida). You will see this cobra spit venom! This episode includes a scene of venom extraction and interview about the snakebite topic. Wait for the end and don't miss various color morphs of Puff adder (Bitis arietans) and desert Boomslangs (Dispholidus typus). - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Outstanding documentary.
No overdramatization like in many other channels. Just the beauty of nature and a lot of educational content.
Keep up with your great job.
Wow, thank you! We want to show how beautiful venomous snakes are. The best way to do it is to show them in their natural habitat. No talking in front of the camera and making the situation dramatic is needed.
Very easy to forget the long hours, the heat and even the dangers you guys undergo so we can enjoy the beautiful videos. Thank you for your effort and dedication. God bless you.
Glad you enjoyed watching this video and hopefully you will watch many more on our channel! :) In this new interview we speak about our work: ua-cam.com/video/m9joxiDY8S0/v-deo.html
Love the Red Spitting Cobra's colour. Perfect for its environment!
It really is! Thank you for watching!
This is freaking AWESOME
Thank you so much!
Outstanding commentary and photography and knowledgable information about Venomous and Non Venomous Snakes
Once again bloody brilliant! Congrats.
Thank you so much! 🙏❤️🐍
Loved that rescue of the Cape Cobra. Excellent use of tongs, tailing and tubing!
Thank you very much!
This was so well done. What a fantastic world we share with such fellow travelers.
Thank you very much!
Red spitters are absolutely gorgeous!
We absolutely agree!
The gold is unreal.
Thank you!

Many thanks!
Thank you presenting such magnificent creatures.
Our pleasure!
the best so far! you guys are getting really good, thank you for your work
Much appreciated! Happy that you love this video!
As a Herpetologist I feel immediately compelled to grab my pillstom tongs, snake hooks and pillow cases and go collecting. At one time I've had most of the African desert species of venomous snakes and held in captivity for husbandry and propagation at the Zoo I worked at in Louisiana. Puff Adders, Egyptian Banded Cobra, Cape Cobra and the Desert Horned Viper to name a few as well as venomous snakes from around the world. Crotalus, Vipera, Trimersurus and Bothrops as well as Ophiophagus we propagated in mass numbers to trade to other Zoos. Excellent video as I haven't been able to collect these species in their native habitat. Cudos, well done. Suggestion...when you have trouble tubing a snake...get a bigger diameter tube. Remember when handling Spitting Cobras to always don your faceshield, you don't wish to be blinded do you?
Thanks for watching! :) Don't worry, we use all possible tools to stay safe when we work! ;)
I looked u up… you’re a carpet installer not a Herpetologist
Good.....🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰💓... God with you always...😘😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰💓
Thanks a lot, really! 🤩 We appreciate it!
Snakes are fascinating creatures. This video is a real tribute to this most feared, and persecuted animal. Thank you for the great work you do to educate about these lovely creatures.
Happy that you love this video, thank you!
Most fearend animal ??? I didn't see any politicians
South African Vaccine Products make a mono-valent anti-venom for the Saw Scaled Viper, amongst others for Southern and other parts of Africa. There is a shortage of anti-venom in South Africa currently. There is a 5 year supply of venom, but the issue is the hyperimmunization of horses and more importantly the processing thereafter I believe!
This has quickly become one of my favourite UA-cam channels.
That is super awesome! We are happy that you love our videos! :)
Excellent documentary.
Many thanks!
I have always loved the pure nature experience of your work, the sounds of nature as it is,it puts you there, and honestly the human narration really dilutes the nature experience. Please consider leaving the beauty of the moment free of narration
It is awesome that you love our videos with no narration! You will like this one: ua-cam.com/video/AQPi85Gvswg/v-deo.html
I'm here for the zoology so please keep narrating :)
Yea I need these facts yo. I feel like they do an outstanding job not overpowering the natural sounds, and also letting them breathe. Phenomenal channel !
@@bigtsshackfestival9563 Thank you very much, we are honored that you think that our channel is phenomenal!
@Philosophical Opossum Awesome!
Wonderful work! You capture some incredible footage and tell the stories very well.
Thank you so much!!! Our goal is to let nature tell the stories, we think it is the most powerful that way :)
Outstanding work!!
Thank you kindly!
Thankyou for your kind reply. The last encounter I had was with a Cape Cobra. I shared the inside of a house, out in the Karoo with it. It was in the back of a cast iron wood stove. It was removed with a long feather duster. It was not a nice experience as it kept trying to attack me. I would say that it will now have a mortal fear of feather dusters. I did not have my pipe, and bag catcher handy. I have some pictures if you would like to see them. Many thanks, David Wootton.
Interesting story! Removing a Cape cobra with a feather duster must have been awkward! But that's how it is, venomous snakes don't only show up when you have proper tools ready. You can send us photos to dolinaym@gmail.com Thank you!
Truly amazing
Thank you!
This awesome documentary made me love snakes
Wow, that is awesome! We are very happy!
Superb Viewing 👍👍👍
Thanks a lot!
We don't have snakes in New Zealand, I'm very glad about that!
That is a big pity, we are sorry for you :D We have at least 5 species in the Czech Republic.
Gorgeous colour of cobra
Thank you for watching!
Awesome Puff Adder variation and footage there of.

Wow! Amazing documentary, keep up your nice job and it has been long time without earring your narrator voice, but it's amazing voice.
Thank you very much! Yes, finally we managed to record some narration :)

That golden yellow cobra is insane
Yes, that was a super beautiful cobra!
Sands of the Kalahari!
The color of the sand was stunning!
Wow, like National Geographic film! Super quality and great hard work! I still like your silent-dzen videos so much ❤
Thank you very much! We are happy that you love it. We will still continue doing videos only with sounds of nature of course :)
Excellent as always 👍🏻
Thank you so much!
Really awesome film work. Gave me the shivers to watch the venom collectors. Handling puff adders brrrrrrggggghhhh

Outstanding!
Thank you very much!
Hey I just watched ,what I assume to be your most recent video on the vipers ,asps and cobras of Africa ? Great job as per usual ,very informative as per usual .keep it up .
Thank you very much! Great that you enjoyed watching. Check other various videos about snakes from Africa here: ua-cam.com/video/RlwLEBp44LI/v-deo.html
Thank you so much. What a great film beautifully filmed with lots of information.
We are glad it was enjoyable to watch and with interesting information! :)
Another outstanding production 👍
Thanks again! Great that you love it! 🙏
There should be a study on the Spitting grass snake of the Yorkshire Dales
Maybe in the future...
You guys did a beautiful job. Thanks for not putting in dramatic, annoying music.
Thanks for watching! :)
Extraordinary. Very well done! My only suggestion would be to speed up your narration just a touch to a more normal speaking tempo. At least in this format, we aren't likely to be taking notes.
Absolutely love that you left all the normal environmental sounds.
Overall, an extraordinary documentary.
Thank you very much!!! The goal is to create one long documentary with nature sounds and also some music. We guess that the narration will sound better then as the music gives some scenes a faster vibe. But as most our viewers love videos without music we created three episodes just with natural sounds :)
Very well made documentary, beautifully and professionally shot with creative use of different angles and with interesting narration. Keep up this work, you guys are awesome!
Thank you so much! Great that you love this one!
18:44 Such a beautiful shot.
Thank you very much! :)

Interesting enightening & entertaining - well done
Great that you like this video, thanks!
Snakes are beautiful, with shapes and patterns, and colors, they have an important role in the environment.
We absolutely agree with everything you wrote! 🙂 Thank you for watching and please watch more of our videos!
The Red King Cobra is so beautiful.
It is the Red spitting cobra.
nice video as always (y) , very nice B.arietans , its one of my favorit snakes
Thanks 👍 Puff adders are cool!
awesome visual feast to eyes..!
Thank you very much!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks a lot!
@@LivingZoology You are welcome
I really love Cape Cobras. ☠️ I love it’s yellow orange color.🌈🍊 These snakes are so beautiful. And so poisonous. ☠️ I love that it’s poisonous. ☠️ That really does something for me. ♥️
Cape cobras are awesome, we agree! But they are venomous, not poisonous ;)
@@LivingZoology thanks for that info.🤎
Great documentary! The narration is good, but I kinda miss just the text on the screen.
Thank you! Don't worry, most of our videos is still going to have only the text :)
Impressive that you are a small production. This is BBC Nature series quality!
Thank you so much!!! We dedicate all time and money into this work :) We love snakes! A full version with narration will come out in 2023.
neskutocny zazitok sledovat vase videa vzdy. Vidno, ze mate pre to vasen a nadsenie. V merchi pridate casom aj obaly na novsie typy iphonov?
Moc ďakujeme! :) Je nejaký konkrétny motív, ktorý by ste chcel a aký iphone?
I liked the narration. The cape cobras were quite snazzy fellows -- nice colors.
Thank you very much! Yes, Cape cobras have amazing colors.
They have such a wide colouration. Black, yellow, orange, speckled, even white with black speckles!
Lekker!
Dankie!
Excellent video but I had to turn the volume down due to the excessive bird chirping in the background.
Thank you for the feedback, we are going to play with the sound for the final version.
I think it is better to do te videos without voice. It helps to listen the sound of pure nature
Most of our videos are still going to be without a narration.
It is amazing how smooth and fast these animals move on the ground!!! It doesn’t look real sometimes
Yes, they sometimes move very fast! Thanks for watching!
Great videos as all ways. Where I live in the Western Cape we have the following: 1 - Cape Cobras, 2 - Naja Nigricollis (Woodi)*, or Naja nigricincta woodi*, 3 - Berg Adders, 4 - Puff Adders, & 5 - Boomslangs. *= name changed? And I have had encounters with all of them. 1, 10 + encounters. 2, 3 encounters, 3, 3 encounters, 4, 10+ encounters, 5, 10 + encounters. 3:26............And Fynbos is pronounced, Fane like in pain boss. And not Fin, as in sharks fin.
Thank you for watching! You have a nice number of cool snake encounters! Thank you for info about the pronunciation of fynbos in Afrikaans. What we heard and know is the English based pronunciation, we did not know that originally it should be "fanebos".
I’m assuming that tree the Boomslang was on is an Acacia. I wonder how they avoid getting stuck with the thorns
No, it was not on Acacia 🙂 In the next episode you will see how it does not get stuck inside Acacia.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for watching!
Love your work. Please don't ever stop.
Have you covered the all black Eastern Indigo Snake ( Southeastern United States)?
Thank you so much!!! Have you seen the other episodes? ua-cam.com/video/FouP-Q-XufU/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/CBxxhzv77eE/v-deo.html We visited Florida in 2022 but we were not lucky to find the Eastern Indigo snake, maybe next time!
nice travel in Africa, I love it very much, thanks a lot
Great that you love this one too! Do you like the narration?
@@LivingZoology of course !
@@ceratophrys Great! 🙂
Snakes!
Yes!
I'm in Heaven.
Is this video going to be part of a new series just like the amazing snake facts videos? Will this series have 3 videos? I know the 1st one will be about snakes living in deserts. Will the 2 other ones be about snakes living in savannas and rainforests?
And I have one more question:
Can you explain the difference between a black necked spitting cobra and a rinkhals? These 2 snakes look so similar to each other.
These 3 episodes are a part of our next big documentary, which will hopefully come next year. How did you like this one? The answer to your question about Rinkhals will be in the second one!
U shoud have a naratorm in all your videos it makes them way more interesting and enjoyable
We produce these long narrated documentaries, but we cannot afford to have the narrator in every video.
You missed the most interesting Forest cobra, black mamba?
Do these species live in deserts? Maybe Black mambas, but we will show them in savanna episode.
i ENJOYED , BUT PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE song birds
Thank you for watching! What should we do with the birds, there are there around us!
@@LivingZoology NOT THE BIRDS THAT ARE IN THE BACK SOUND ROUND OF THE VIDEO
Not every day you come across a person who wears a bad ass Tourniquet tee shirt (excellent Thrash Metal from the States). I believe, that's from "Stop The Bleeding?"
Well, Gerrie Heyns is a huge Metal fan! :)
Need more of Australia
Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/QAaW3U18rzQ/v-deo.html
I know milking has to be done to save lives, but have their been any studies to find out how much stress it puts the snake under?
It is definitely stressful for snakes. It will be awesome if someone produces a synthetic antivenom in the future.
Tyler Mac oh yeah talk about something
Thank you for watching!
Dude is rocking a Tourniquet shirt....
Yes, he is!
very good documentary, but weird bird chirping back sound which bird doesn’t exist to local area where documentary was filmed.
Thank you for watching! All the sounds were recorded at the locations where we filmed snakes.
I thought of that too, but as professional as the video was I figured they wouldn't screw it up with some Asian Avian song.
I love your content but you it would help if you would lower the background noise. Endless bird gave me a headache
We left the background sounds a bit too high with this one, sorry. There will be a long narrated version where we will play with the sounds a bit more.
The narrator works with Mike Perry, yes?
No, our narrator lives in the Czech Republic and he is Irish 🙂
Christ those meerkats sure do s#!t alot 😂
Thanks for watching!
@Living Zoology I l9ve ur channel I'm from Brooklyn and watch all ur videos aint no saw scales or ophiophagus where I live so I love and appreciate what u do for us blessings from your Brooklyn family member

The 1st, Cape Cobra is taking a chance against those Meerkats!! They pack against them and can kill them!
