I think I will stick around Zdenka's presentations for quite a while. I find them more relevant to "My real world." When I decided to return to being more invested in especially video skills (I took a decade long break from doing it as a full time job on location and in post) I got hooked on several of the superstar channels but I tired of those after a month when I did a reality check and concluded I was watching shows that were about the vlogger lifestyle, building celebrity and a huge fan base, not about the video/photography professional trade like I'm seeing and hearing from these segments.

Let me say it straight up... Model completely covered up being used on adult advertisement... She wanted to sue me but fortunately I didn’t have to go through it. I erased all my model shots which could be potentially use that way. About 3000 photos in portfolio

Stock is finished but book covers are a niche that pays well and editorial still pays a little especially in video in my experience, weddings always pay a wage or why would you do it

Hi! My goal is to do more stock. I feel like there is not enough time in the day - with work, wife that works, teenager, toddler and soon infant.
Do you have lots on your hands. Thanks will get easier but it’s still going to be hard. And I know because I have 8 and 10 year old myself. It is a good thing that you have a hobby just keep it up you need to have time for yourself absolutely. 😊🎬🎥📸

Yes legal battle which I won... they used models images in certain nightclubs
What platform would you recommend to sell on. I noticed you stated non exclusive is the one 👍🏽. Does the person have a right to resell the photos you sell, or does it vary? Thankyou
I suggest reading contract with each agency you sign up with…. They cannot resell unless you allow such licenses

I’m not very familiar with Sony cameras unfortunately. The reason I talk about MS 50 is because I have it. I think it’s better to ask then opinion from someone who actually works in a store. Sorry I simply don’t know 🎬📸🎥
I have always been interested in photography but never took photos other than using my phone.
Now I have a side business that required me taking high quality photos of products that I sell online, I have only done this using my phone but I am now interested in taking stock photos as well and was thinking of upgrading.
What is a good camera for stock photos for a beginner?

Hi I am thinking about byeing a Cannon M50 I normally shoot landscapes and nature shots are they still needed for stock and is the M50 the right camera thanks Phil
Thank you very much for reaching out. Truthfully I never shot landscapes for stock so I don’t know how they sell. But if you have budget for this camera it should be just fine. It is entry-level camera but if you get a great lens for it you can do lots. 😊🎬🎥📸

It depends on contract you sign. Usually you can submit the same photos elsewhere

I have a couple Questions
When selling photos to stock of people with faces what are thing you must do to avoid problems.
ie what permissions do you need from the person you used in the photo or what things do you need to do/agree to when you submit the photo, ie usage limitations?
if you upload a nice picture of someone in a park can you or should you limit its use in case someone wants to use it for pron in anyway that the original subject might have not wanted.
Also, do you need permissions if you are only taking body parts photography that normally would not identify a person, but obviously if the subject saw their lower body and reconciled the clothing to say thats me
If you take a photo of a person which can be recognized then you need a model release. For body parts you don’t need a release. Please refer to your stock agency for all information and their rules. 🎬🎥📸🎬

Thank you for sharing. I will be very honest I used to submit so this agency as well but I didn’t get any sales for over a year. So I took my portfolio out and I started doing micro stock instead. After that I was making money

Wise move on not photographing women. I have always stayed away from using models for stock. I simply don't need a law suit if the image is misused. Think about photographing some editorials. I have been doing pretty good with exteriors of businesses. Even though most chain businesses look alike, there are enough differences that can be used by bloggers and UA-camrs. Nicole Glass does well with editorials.

Should I put in my paragraph or description as I export out of final cut? There is a description box there as well as a "title" box, I think... but I'm not certain if I put there, OR do I wait till I'm in Shutterstock to add my description?
...and is description the same as "keywords", it kind of sounds the same compared to what "Handcraft Films" mentions.
I am just starting out and have been shooting video of my beautiful 13yr old daughter. Is there something I should be concerned about? You said something about shooting beautiful models, and that is kind of where I'm starting with her. Lots of slow mo of her twirling, reading book, on cell phone ect....
Just curious what your situation was that got you in trouble.
I am shooting my 13 yr old daughter who is extremely photogenic and beautiful of course, Lol....But I am shooting lifestyle shots of her at this time wearing winter clothes, but recently shooting her in her private school uniform which she is wearing a plaid style dress and fully covered white button up shirt with tie.
However I find myself only shooting close and medium shots mostly, a couple in her dress where she grabs a swing set pole turning around looking into camera smiling and holding books.
Could someone take advantage of this? not sure how, I do lots of video editing and can't see how this could be used inappropriately.
But any suggestions from this concerned father would be great!
