Fun fact: Lia, the artist who sings the OP "My Soul, Your Beats," allowed her voice to be sampled to create the basis for the vocaloid Ia. Ia would later record a cover "My Soul, Your Beats." Later Lia sang the song in concert alongside Ia, which you can find searching around on UA-cam.

Thank you for checking out AngleBeats. Angle Beats only has one season. The reason it is highly recommended is because it has unique take in the story direction, I won't go in detail to avoid spoiler.
THERE IT IS! Thank you for always reacting to my favorites!! So Angel Beats is a 2010 anime, and the story is COMPLETELY "anime original" which just means there's no prior source material to adapt into the animation medium. To clear things up without any spoilers, this anime actually ISN'T about music at all. There is definitely a band that exists IN the show, but the band is more of a side thing that isn't at all the main focus. The weapons in the opening are actually literal and not metaphorical. There's some combat that happens in this school, but you'll understand why when you watch it. As I saw someone else say it, I'll reiterate it as well: The anime's core themes is on sadness, grief, and acceptance. The way they portray those themes kind of hits pretty close to home for a LOT of people, including myself, which is why even after 12 years(almost 13) I still fondly love this anime.
The show is pretty funny and all, but it's heartbreaking. It's one of those tearjerkers that stay with you for a long time. Also I recommend checking out an insert song called "Ichiban no Takaramono" (Yui final ver.). Yui is a character in Angel Beats! and the singer is LiSA. It's one of my favourite LiSA songs of all time.
The reason Angel Beats is so highly recommended in my opinion is that it's just such an amazing and INSPIRING story. it will hit hard and it's very heavy. I know it's cringy to say that a show changed your life but you can read the comments section on UA-cam for the endings and you'll see for yourself. also Angel Beats and Clannad did change my life and made me decide to not commit suicide. this anime I hold very dear because of that. it's a very emotional anime and one of my favorites. ignore the band part. it has very little to do with the story. but if you want too know what this anime is about the ending gives you the vibes and the gist of it. it's a must watch. yes there is guns lots of guns. and it's has some good action.
Angel Beats is such a great anime. It's also a very short anime with 13 episodes (+ 2 OVA episodes). Highly recommend it! About the ending song: Angel Beats has one ending song: "Brave Song" by Aoi Tada (which you reacted in this video). The other song "Ichiban no Takaramono" only played during one special episode. You can hear it during an scene at the end of an episode. So it's not that traditional closing ending, but a song which is played in an ending scene.
Alright, here it comes!! The opening to one of the animes that REALLY got me into anime! Damn, I love listening to the OP. The ED hit harder with every episode I watched. And I still cry every damn time I listen to Ichiban no Takaramono ever since I read the lyrics and learned some japanese T.T Angel Beats, and everything from Maeda Jun really, has a special place in my heart.
Angel Beats is pretty easily one of the best ways to introduce somebody to anime. It's a short, sweet, and to the point story about the afterlife with lots of funny and tearjerking moments. It also has a lot of anime-isms without being in one's face enough to make new anime watchers feel alienated. I've gotten so many friends into anime by having them watch the first few episodes of Angel Beats. Which is funny because I don't consider it anywhere near one of my favorites.
Angel Beats is a nice anime series. you absolutely have to react to "Angel Beats! - Ichiban no Takaramono (Yui final ver.)" is from Lisa . it's so emotional the song it hits me every time. watch it best with lyrics. I'm looking forward to your reaction. thanks for the entertainment. ^^
This animes by Jun Maeda have the incredible formula of being chill and funny at the beginning but it’s very sad at the end, soooo recommended this types of anime to see
Angel Beats is really tough to talk about without getting into spoilers. It is a really rewarding series, with some really big feels. I can try to recall the explanation you get in the first episode, so stop, now, if you don't want to hear any plot. The protagonist wakes up on the grounds of a school and is told that he is in the afterlife. For some reason the other "students" don't understand, an angel (who looks like a younger student) is trying to make them go to class and attend school, like good students. They plot and literally fight against the angel with weapons, because of course you don't want to do what the authority is trying to make you do. The plot goes on, from there.
The 'giant axe' is called a halberd. Also, please check out: - A Certain Scientific Railgun (6x) - A Certain Scientific Accelerator (1x) - Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex (1x) - Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig (1x)
Angel beats is an older show, it was one of the first anime I saw back when I got into anime around 2013. It is an anime that pretty much everyone who watches will probably cry for the characters dozens of times. Heck when the opening played I was about to cry
Please consider reacting to the opening and endings of; The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzamiya 🖤 I’m shocked it’s not more heavily recommended as it really encompasses an entire era/genre of anime :)
Angel Beats! is a beautiful anime about the characters struggling to come to terms with loss. I almost shed a tear during the second opening and actually did during the ending just remembering what happens. Also the weapons are actually in the show and the axe thing is called a Halberd.
Angel Beats is a must see! It’s so popular because it really brings you on a emotional journey where you love each an every character, no such thing as a fodder character I definitely hope you watch it sometime!
LiSA is the voice behind one of the main characters of this show, one of the vocalists, so there's a bunch of early LiSA songs there. This "second" opening is just a version of the opening that goes as an intro theme for a specific episode, sang by this girl (that's LiSA). Summary for Angel Beats (no spoiler): Angel Beats! is set in the environment of a high school in the afterlife, a type of limbo for people who have experienced trauma or hardships in life and must overcome them before passing on and being reincarnated. It's a one season only anime and it's incredible.
Angel beats is 10 years old, a short 1 season anime written by Maeda Jun (a very inspiring author that did a ton of great stories) animated by PA works (that often animate Maeda Jun's stories). It is highly regarded as it is funny, well written and very emotional for a ton of people.
Angel Beats has made me cry so hard back when I was 13. I don't know If I would feel the same if I was to experience it for the first time now, but the finale hits really hard. The last ending's version which was played in the last episode literally finished me.
The way they play the piano is like the sound of a heartbeat-it’s so cool. Many songs mimic heartbeats with drums, but the piano gives me more of a feeling of something fragile yet steadily beating
Angel Beats, Death Note and AoT gotta be three of the best animes out there to recommend to someone who's just starting his journey with anime, so I'd highly recommend reacting to it soon, won't regret it.
Oof! This one is a rollercoaster of emotions!! When it wants you to laugh, you're gonna laugh out loud and when it wants you to cry you're gonna bawl your eyes out
You should watch the 'Charlotte' opening; it's sung by the same person and has very similar vibes as Angel beats, and both shows are by the same person.
Man this is one of the few animes that made me really emotional multiple times. It isn't even that long of a show but nearly every episode made me emotional.
Both versions of Ichiban no Takaramono from angel beats are really good, it's definitely my favorite anime song but you're not gonna get the song together with the anime visuals without heavy spoilers. The anime in general hits really hard emotionally and yes it has a proper ending and is supposed to be that short.
The word you're searching for is "halberd". Now, Angel Beats... You have no idea how much a key anime (there's a pun in there) this one is in the way of becoming an anime fan. It is an original anime -meaning there is no source/original material that it adapts-, which is pretty freakin rare, directed by the legendary Jun Maeda. Music is his thing, hence the heavy musical emphasis, but it is *unfortunately* not the topic of this anime (but it is heavily featured and important to tje show itself). Angel Beats is about a guy who wakes up with amnesia in some kind of school-like purgatory. There he joins the "Resistance against God" in their fight against the "Angel" who is the student council president. Not gonna say much more, it's a very action packed, very comedic, heavily emotional show, filled with a bomb of an OST (the Lisa version of the opening is performed by Girls Dead Monster, an in-universd band which has released a full album of bangers which some of the songs are featured in the anime) It is a one season complete show (has a few drama CDs, which are audio-format stories, which ate very optional and only available in japanese (never found translations for it). I can only heavily recommend this anime.
I didnt think this would happen, I love the Opening of Angel Beats. I loved the show and watched it forever ago and hearing the Op brought back so many memories i started to tear up. Im glad i got to see this.
Jun Maeda is a lord of this types of anime’s and openings that have a lot of feelings, u really recommend too the op of, Charlotte, The day I become a god and Clannad, all of this are story’s of Jun Maeda, I really recommended
There is only one season of Angel Beats but unlike a lot of anime it has a strong conclusion that actually wraps it up. Its oldish 2010. The show does an excellent job of grabbing your attention through comedy and such but then really pulls at your heartstrings. All the music always makes me tear up a little.
Thanks very much for this reaction. Out of all the works I watched youre one of the most genuine one. Also the video of the ending song was played in reverse, one of the cruelest thing happened in the series.
If you want to check it out, there's literally a whole concert by LiSA with the entire OST from the Angel Beats anime (Girls Dead Monster starring LiSA Tour 2010 Final -Keep The Angel Beats!). If you watch this anime, watching that concert afterwards is worth it.
This anime is the first anime I ever cried to. This anime is highly recommended if you really want to cry Btw, that ending song hits really really hard even though I watched this anime 10 years ago holy sht
If you want more of this vibe from Angel Beats, you can check out Lisa's Ichiban no Takaramono and all the songs of Girl Dead Monster (The band from the anime)
This show is only 12 or 13 episodes long which is hard to set multiple characters up but this show shoves multiple perfect set ups for them all. A lot of times they just leave season endings with a chance for another season but this show wraps everything up perfectly. It doesn't need another season because it doesn't need it. Just remember everyone has to graduate eventually.
Angel Beats is such a unique anime and the story telling is really amazing, and the ending is so unexpected when you think about how the anime starts and yet it fits so beautifully when you watch it, its just so well done i really recommend it for you to watch it, like even if you don't have plans to react to it on the channel.
There is this select few songs that can make me tear up with no fail and one of them is ichiban no takaramono, sadly you didn't get to react to that one this time but all the songs from this show are beautiful and so it the show itself. This is surely a must watch anime, such a short, fun and incredibly beautiful experience with a deep message that just stays with you forever.
Angel Beats have only one season and there's a bonus short epilogue that's nice to watch after seeing the main series. If you're gonna react to this, I wanna see lol. I'm curious about how you'd react to certain episodes.
Most of the best series are the ones that have a definitive ending when they are started. So you will find a lot of 1-2 season series that trump long going shows since the cash grab can't happen to stretch it out. Thanks for reacting and yes this series is an older show that only ever was meant or 1 season
Again you missed some. Angel Beats! Ending Themes (Source : myanimelist website) 1: "Brave Song" by Aoi Tada (eps 1-9, 11-12) 2: "Ichiban no Takaramono ~Yui final ver.~ (一番の宝物 ~Yui final ver.~)" by Girls Dead Monster feat. LiSA (eps 10) 3: "Ichiban no Takaramono (一番の宝物)" by karuta (eps 13)
Angel Beats was the first anime I watched during middle school and my anime journey started here 😂 (apart from the animes I watched as a child on tv haha) highly recommend watching it!
Angel Beats is honestly a king amongst emotional anime. It's not particularly new, and the reason it has only one season is because it only ever needed one. It's very much an artistic piece and deals with so many heavy emotions but in a truly beautiful way.
if the songs alone make you feel like crying, wait until you watch the show. also, there's LOTS of 1 season only anime. It's not like they weren't popular or anything, they simply are short. a 12ep anime is about 4h so think of it like a really long movie.
I love Angel Beats I feel nostalgic when hearing the song it's take me back to 2014 when I watch this. I'm crying hard for the first time because of an animation while watching Angel Beats at that time the story is just hit you hard and touching at the same time it hard to explain.
I have actually not seen angel beats but i know that the opening is pretty amazing and it is a PA works original. PA works is one of the very few studio dedicated to making original shows. They can be a hit or miss but most of the time, they do hit their mark. They also did Ya boy kongming which actually is an adaptation of a manga I believe. Their last show was Aquatope on the White Sand and it was really good. Their current show is an absolutely wild show called Akiba Maid Wars. Actually, that would make for a hilarious reaction considering how new you are to all this.
There should be still the album around on UA-cam 'Keep the Beats!' from GirlDeMo - its the band from the anime itself. I have the whole album and a few extra songs and versions still in my playlist 'til this day just because I love it so much since I heard it all these years ago. And 'Ichiban no Takaramono' is such a beauty. I coudn't choose between the album version or another version with 6 minutes (hits me another way). they kill me every time. :D
Titles like Angel Beats, Air, and especially Clannad series, are released from Key Visual Arts, they are very well known for bringing people to crying rivers to oceans of tears. Clannad and Clannad After Story are must react!
Angel Beats is a great anime, some of the best music out there. I don't cry easily and this anime moved me to tears at the end. Worth watching, it is much more than it seems at first
God damn hearing and seeing this OP makes me feel so damn nostalgic, God knows how many years it was since I watched this anime, this anime was one of those early iconic milestones in my anime watching career, prob the first anime I watched that made me tear up badly, not enough to push me fully into crying, that milestone is held by another anime but angel beats, def one of the first really sad animes I watched that really tugged on my heartstrings, I can already start remembering all the times I Listend to this op, brings back good memories
What ever you think Angel Beats is about from the openings... its not that... This was one of my gateway anime into the wider world of shows that wasn't just what was on Toonami at the time. Almost 13 years later it's still one of my favorites...
jesus i feel old now and very depress. but still a very amazing anime, with a heart warming message. this song always gives me Goosebumps, even when i first heard it without having seen it, I already felt nostalgia and sadness, is how powerful this song is. The version of with lisa is a character she is signing over that was really special episode. so that character sang the opening in a concert and the singing voice was lisa. This is a 13 episode original series, which didnt have a manga, game, or novel adopting from. it is only one season cause the story is completed and you didnt need it to be long. 13 episodes was the whole story.
The anime is amazing! This should be the first anime you watch on your Twitch stream! And your gonna have to watch it and find out! This anime touched my heart and is one if not my favorite newer anime!!!
This is such a classic. I'd also recommend Banana Fish openings and endings by Survive said the Prophet (both the an OP and an ED by the band)- Theyre absolute BANGERS made by the perfect band for this dark show. Link Click Ops and Eds are also up there. As for OSTs, a hidden gem out there is 'Libera Me From Hell' from Gurren Lagann. Gurren Lagann was one of the biggest Mecha anime for a while, until Code Geass came, but the OG/long term anime community never forget that gem of an OST, or even the anime Opening itself.
@@kathryn_S Yeah! The Ed by King Gnu feels like dragging a ragged knife to the heart and slowly twisting it for more pain, every. damn. time. It's so good.
To answer ALL of your questions: yes its one season and you just have to watch it, once you watch it you will understand why everyone loves it and all your questions will be answered.

The anime's core themes is on sadness, grief, and acceptance.
No it's not cringe to say it changed your life
Angel Beats is such a great anime.
It's also a very short anime with 13 episodes (+ 2 OVA episodes). Highly recommend it!
About the ending song:
Angel Beats has one ending song: "Brave Song" by Aoi Tada (which you reacted in this video).
And I still cry every damn time I listen to Ichiban no Takaramono ever since I read the lyrics and learned some japanese T.T
Angel Beats, and everything from Maeda Jun really, has a special place in my heart.
Although she doesn't sing this opening song, others will tell you, this anime helped kickstart LiSA's career. The songs in this show are phenomenal.
I don't care who you or what you watch.. everyone crys when watching Angel Beats, its such a lift you up while the onion ninjas attack.
Luke don't google the show if you're going to watch it! its jump right in without knowing anything to fully enjoy :)
The 'giant axe' is called a halberd. Also, please check out:
- A Certain Scientific Railgun (6x)
- A Certain Scientific Accelerator (1x)
- Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex (1x)
- Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig (1x)
Angel beats is an older show, it was one of the first anime I saw back when I got into anime around 2013. It is an anime that pretty much everyone who watches will probably cry for the characters dozens of times. Heck when the opening played I was about to cry
Finally after all these years i can listen to the opening without crying. The ending almost got me though
I still remember the ending😭😭😭😭
Its been YEARS since i saw angel beats i think i need to rewatch it
I binged this show on a whim and bawled like a baby when I did. Such a fantastic show.
Please consider reacting to the opening and endings of;
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzamiya 🖤 I’m shocked it’s not more heavily recommended as it really encompasses an entire era/genre of anime :)
He should maybe also check out the song God knows, which has been played during a school performance in the show. Such a banger. :)
Yeah the trash era/genre, ayo i didnt say it
@@themanthatsavedjosukehigas6714 you’re not wrong 🤣 but still nice nod to it
Not just openings and endings, it would be awesome if he watched the anime and reacted to the movie "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya".
Yes, would also loved to see Haruhi reactions, especialy the anime. Endless eight arc reactions xD
Angel Beats! is a beautiful anime about the characters struggling to come to terms with loss. I almost shed a tear during the second opening and actually did during the ending just remembering what happens. Also the weapons are actually in the show and the axe thing is called a Halberd.
Angelbeats, a really good Anime with a wonderful story and the first Anime where i cryed...
I would recommend it for the React Series for UA-cam
Angel Beats is a must see! It’s so popular because it really brings you on a emotional journey where you love each an every character, no such thing as a fodder character
I definitely hope you watch it sometime!
Oh man...Angel beats.... I am crying... crying a lot right now
Angel Beats, Death Note and AoT gotta be three of the best animes out there to recommend to someone who's just starting his journey with anime, so I'd highly recommend reacting to it soon, won't regret it.
Ahh you forgot it’s ending ichiban no takaromo, it’s probably the emotional song in the entire series
Same I love them
Angel Beats the first anime that made me cry like a baby
It’s a very tragic Anime, that tends to make those who aren’t emotionally-stagnant cry, especially the second half
Not gonna say much more, it's a very action packed, very comedic, heavily emotional show, filled with a bomb of an OST (the Lisa version of the opening is performed by Girls Dead Monster, an in-universd band which has released a full album of bangers which some of the songs are featured in the anime)
It is a one season complete show (has a few drama CDs, which are audio-format stories, which ate very optional and only available in japanese (never found translations for it).
I can only heavily recommend this anime.
Oh nice man this one of my absolute fav shows it’s been a while since I last heard this op so thanks for the reaction
I didnt think this would happen, I love the Opening of Angel Beats. I loved the show and watched it forever ago and hearing the Op brought back so many memories i started to tear up. Im glad i got to see this.
Angel Beats is a great anime if you feel like crying in a corner for 4 hours
I cried with this anime. And Lia is the sample voice for my favorite Vocaloid, IA. ❤
Lia has a beautiful voice, I hope you can listen to more songs from her.
Also, I highly recommend the OP and ED of Clannad and Clannad After Story.
Thank you for reacting to this. My all-time favorite anime and the reason why I'm into anime
This anime is highly recommended if you really want to cry
Btw, that ending song hits really really hard even though I watched this anime 10 years ago holy sht
Bruh this just resurfaced so many memories, seeing the lone acoustic guitar in the 2nd opening almost made me tear up, I got chills 😭
Lmfao oh man “I’m assuming it’s about a school where there learning music” my guy, watch it. It’s the only anime that’s made me cry lmao
As soon as the ED started, so did the tears. Man this series was so good.
Ending Themes (Source : myanimelist website)
1: "Brave Song" by Aoi Tada (eps 1-9, 11-12)
2: "Ichiban no Takaramono ~Yui final ver.~ (一番の宝物 ~Yui final ver.~)" by Girls Dead Monster feat. LiSA (eps 10)
3: "Ichiban no Takaramono (一番の宝物)" by karuta (eps 13)
The anime brings me to tears every time. The anime is S tier and highly recommend reacting to the anime.
Of the best openings and endings also considered a good series highly recommended.
Angel Beats was the first anime I watched during middle school and my anime journey started here 😂 (apart from the animes I watched as a child on tv haha) highly recommend watching it!
Angel beats! The nostalgia! I loved this anime, and it hits really hard. Highly recommended, and prepare the tissues.
I think this is one of those animes that is better going in not knowing anything about it. I would love tosee you react to it
Angel Beats is honestly a king amongst emotional anime.
The axe weapon is called a Halberd 😁👍
This Anime made me appreciate Anime Music more
There should be still the album around on UA-cam 'Keep the Beats!' from GirlDeMo - its the band from the anime itself.
Just hearing the songs are making me cry.
I cried a lot with this anime, it's on my list of the best anime I've ever seen
You could always look up the info on the myanimelist forum but this is basically going to be quite an emotional anime that aired in 2010.
I watched that anime when I was 12. It was one of my first anime ever and it really changed my life in an positiv way.
Angel Beats is simply beautiful , you will laugh, cry and overall get drawn into it
I remember watching Angel beats as a young teenager. It made me depressed/empty for about two weeks. Safe to say that show scarred the younger me!
Some openings I saw being asked (also by me :]):
Blue Exorcist
Another
Seraph of the End
jesus i feel old now and very depress. but still a very amazing anime, with a heart warming message. this song always gives me Goosebumps, even when i first heard it without having seen it, I already felt nostalgia and sadness, is how powerful this song is.
I second Link Click and Banana Fish OP's and ED's!
Yes Banana Fish plz
Yes, please react to the Banana Fish Op's & Ed's - As well as the Survive Said the Prophet Op & Ed there are also one's by Blue Encount and King Gnu
@@kathryn_S Yeah! The Ed by King Gnu feels like dragging a ragged knife to the heart and slowly twisting it for more pain, every. damn. time.
It's so good.
I'm with you there brother. That ending made me cry too, especially in the last episode
An anime that I think it would really interesting to get your riaction is K-ON!, both openings and endings are really good
I would also love it if he reacts to episodes songs which they perform.
To answer ALL of your questions: yes its one season and you just have to watch it, once you watch it you will understand why everyone loves it and all your questions will be answered.
