Watch the first episode of Food Wars. Actually you could watch 1st episodes of many animes just to understand the premise without anything spoiling. Educate yourself what is "shonen", "isekai", genres, "best girl" lexicon etc. These are basic 101 stuff instead of sounding like an idiot, or asking the same dumb questions that people keep answering in the comments that you dont read anyway. Its like reacting to John Wick without knowing what an assasin is and refusing to find out. Just makes you look really ignorant on purpose.
Okay so to alleviate your confusion, the concept and idea of the show alone seem completely harmless. It’s a wonderful show pretty much about expressing yourself through cooking and the name “food wars” is taken from what they call their cooking competitions that go on which are similar to what you would find on tv shows. That said, when the characters describe the flavors of the dishes they taste they can get a bit “creative” and sometimes, not necessarily every time, but sometimes nonetheless, they compare the flavors of the fish to be something similar to having an orgasm the pictures you found are probably like screenshots of those scenes, lmao 😂

The 7th Opening is by nano.RIPE, a different person from nano. Both are good but nano is the one people are telling you to react to because of her powerful voice.
I first fell in love with nano.RIPE from the OP of a VERY underrated anime called Humanity has Declined (Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita), which is both one of the cutest and most bizarre dark humor shows I ever watched and ever will in my life. Ever since then I just love whenever I see them make a new OP or ED.
nano.Ripe also did the OP for Citrus. That anime is, well, trash (and because I'm a connoisseur of trash I found it enjoyable in a cringe sort of way), but the OP was pretty fire.
You would not believe just how dramatic and epic this anime can get despite being all about cooking. Maybe not much of a first or 2nd anime recommendation since it's a bit..diferent, but imo a must watch somewhere down the line! it's so good.
Food Wars is a really really good anime about cooking (school). The story is really nice. All fights you see in the openings are metaphors of what's really going on; same for the chained girl (Erina). You should definetly check it out, it have a big dose of fan service at first, but then it calms down.
This anime is actually pretty amazing. First 2 seasons are the best because later you can predict what will happen quiete easily. But still. Great character, animation, fun, excitement. Great and unique anime! This anime is about students who went and get into top Japanese culinary school where only 10% or less will manage to "survive". There is Elite 10 who is something like a council of the best cooks at the school. Each seat represents their position on ranking system they have there. Whoever wants to rise, they do matches (shokugeki). Students can basicaly make a deal about anything. Who lose, lose the bet ofc. All that's happening in front of other students. And there iare always jujors who decide who win. Like Master Chef or whatever. But Soma's (main character) goal is to be seat number one of Top 10 Elite. Which he claims from the start. During school they must overcome many difficult tasks to not get fired from the school. And this anime is famous for it's ecchiness. There is many. Many scenes when they are showing scenes how they feel about the food. Literally. That's why so many boobs in openings. This anime is literally made for it. Each episode there is at least one scene like this. Some people don't mind. Some hate it. Some love it. I personaly finds it funny. It's hilarious. :D
all the fighting stuff is like metaphor of their cooking duel, using their cooking style like forms and outfit : the hero, soma, actually have a traditional cooking style and food, so he appears like a samurai with a katana, and the girl is qualified like a knight, so here is her armor.... Every food battle is represented realisticly and metaphoricly in the anime at the same time, seeing them cooking, and the frame after, fighting with weapons, to show the conflict
I was kinda expecting this reaction since I know that food wars’ openings are fire 🔥 the nsfw visuals are just representations, without them the show will be very boring since it will be just plain tasting and commenting the food.
@@GOTGames glad you liked them, it's one of the animes which I enjoy all opening songs, along with aot and fire force. I recommend reacting to "kaguya love is war" openings, I also liked all of them
The OST of the series in particular is quite varied and memorable. The riske parts are less than 10% of the anime, but are just the flashiest parts. The best representative of how riske it gets is actually in the endings.
I happen to get some kids approaching me a year ago and i think they're still a 2nd grade-ish highschooler at the time, they overheard opening 1 and opening 4 from my laptop and they blurted out "oh? This anime is such nostalgia and my favorite since it first came out " This anime came out about 7 years ago and my first thought when hearing that was "what?"
The foodgasms are metaphorical. What you're seeing in Google Images are of course said foodgasms, the kinds of things people get shocked about. The anime uses many metaphors to describe the characters' cooking styles. Toriko is another food-related anime that is quite literal about fighting with food and food utensils.
that's not necessary. its fine for yt as long as the audio isn't deafend thats bloody annoying. the stuff that it shows is sfw and the important stuff isn't even shown.
There is fanservice, but it's almost entirely done with tongue firmly placed in cheek; and it doesn't focus on one sex, either. The reputation is a bit exaggerated. It's an anime about attending a highly competitive culinary academy. The best way I know how to sum it up relies on knowing something about the original Iron Chef series. This anime basically takes the fictional background and origin of the Chairman of Iron Chef and imagines what a world that had such an institute might be like. It's surprisingly engaging and all the dishes made are real. Still kinda sad they never released the official cookbook outside Japan.
You did not Google the wrong anime... the reactions from those eating the food presented are almost always "foodgasm" in nature. You are also correct about the openings being "metaphorical" vs "literal". It is a series about cooking competitions. Also, shirtless guy, yeah, not just shirtless... constantly buck naked 🤣
Absolutely love how whenever someone reacts to these openings, from 1 to 4 they all go: ''Ah ok so there's not actual fights....right? Right! yeah ok, no actual fights, surely'' And then OP 5 happens and everyone goes: ''.....or are they?!'' Love it coz thats just such a fun shared experience between reactors
A lot of those images are even more than "suggestive" as you said, they literally are metaphores to show the stakes, the situation/plot (the chained girl is to show how much her father has a grip on her, he's controlling her life etc...) and people usually get their clothes burst off when they have a taste of an exceptionnal meal, like if it was a flavour/taste explosion, but again metaphorically.
As you said for the giant knives and stuff, also the naked stuff and her being chained up is not any weird play, but used metaphorical. The first four seasons count to my favourite anime of all time. We don't talk about the fifth season tho xD
I was honestly having stale taste on anime recently till I started watching your vids. Your innocent reactions is just...superb. I see myself introducing anime for the first time.
I was obsessed with food wars when I like 14 and not just because of obvious reasons lmao, but I remember when the first part of season 3 ended and the ending song playing at the last scene. It made me fall in love with the series
That anime is awesome. Just binged the whole thing last month. One of the best i would say and i watched a ton of anime. Never thought that a food anime would be that good!
this show is everything you like about anime, and definitely the cheekiness is just on the surface. I am a "86" and "Demon Slayer" big fan and I need to admit that "Food Wars" is still in my top 5 most beloved anime series. I am more than sure that Luke would love it.
Food Wars is all about cook-off battles where whoever makes the best dish wins and to make that interesting there's a lot of visual metaphors that come up when they describe the dishes. Like one guy will be really good at spicy food and they'll be personified as a lion because of how ferocious their dish is, and then Soma will make his own spicy food to counter them, so after he presents his dish they show a quick cut-away of Soma ALSO turning into a lion and fighting back. Or someone will try a really good duck dish and to showcase how elegant it is they'll have a cutaway to a really classy opera guy seducing a girl, but he's wearing a goofy duck hat, right? And then there's the ones most people are familiar with, which is when a character eats something really good and it's demonstrated as them being stripped or having a fanservicy moment by or around something representing the dish. So like a girl showering in honey or having her clothes blown off by a giant lobster or something. Or it'll be a squid dish and you can use your imagination to see how that goes, right? Which, HONESTLY, is pretty effective overall. Just hearing about how good a dish is can get really repetitive and non-specific, but literally showing how good it is as a quick metaphorical short bit never really gets old and lets them be more impactful with their descriptions. Like instead of having someone just talk about how the fish is good, they say the thing as you see the fish flying around the ocean and doing nutty things to show how fresh and energetic it is. Also, it leads to lots of really funny out of context moments, lol.
Shows like this when they are doing everyday tasks or sports anime often use exaggerated scenarios, special effects, and metaphor to convey emotion or taste and presentation in the case or food wars.
The show is a cooking anime that takes place in a cooking school. It's actually really good with great characters and an interesting compelling story. All the fanservice stuff you googled is in it but it's not literally in it it's metaphorical for how they feel when eating the food. The same goes for the openings anything in it that seems stops seeming realistic is metaphorical just like the chains you questioned.
It's not actually as bad as it looks xD There's fanservice, yes, but nothing explicit. It *is* a cooking show. They remind us of that throughout the anime too. On several occasions, hehe. Anyway, I highly recommend it! The plot is good, the characters are funny and fairly well rounded and overall it's a really fun, uncomplicated time. :)
you have no idea how tough the restaurant business is do you. i worked in restaurants for thirty years. all the way through the ranks. these young chefs are fighting for a chance at a prestigious restaurant or starting their own place. the cooking competitions allow them to show new skills and what they learned plus they build up their reputations slowly earning names for what they do. i admire what they try to do as i did it myself the hard way earning respect through work alone.
I would definitely enjoy watching you react to this series at some point with judicious editing, or just blurring, others have been able to put it on UA-cam.
The images you see on Google are probably the "foodgasms" from the show. Food Wars is literally just cooking and cooking challenges but it's such an interesting show and it'll probably always make you hungry.
Yes, it's juust a cooking competition. The metaphors go completely bonkers though. They try to convey flavor through over the top reactions and analogies
I've seen the first 3 seasons and I gotta say the Anime is pretty good and the food looks amazing. People have actually made some of the recipes from the anime as well.
i really wanted for you to watch this series. recently my brother hate to attempt to watch this anime because it has "metaphorical" scenes like you say you saw on google but one time he tried to watch it my brother really entertained XD. Thats all, love your content bro keep it up. also react to bungou stray dogs ending too its fire.
its a great anime! IMO, the fanservice wasn't unnecessary tho, it would be great even without it But lets be honest it makes it that much better xD also, the 'not safe for work' scenes dont rly show any of the private parts, they left it for your imagination ;) it doesnt get any more than the scene in 3rd opening I can tell you, i watched it together with my brother and mom,so its not that bad, we just had a laugh every now and then ;)
Food Wars is a good anime, the author has done a lot of research on cooking !!!! The fan service is especially put forward on the "pleasure" that can provide the food of course overplayed BUT OMFG all the food in this anime look SO FU***ING GOOD !!!!!!!! This anime is really fun anyway.
Trust me you gotta watch and react to food wars it is one of my favorite anime of all time definitely in my top 10 I would probably place it around 5th or 3rd favorite of all time
Excellent reaction! When I saw Food Wars for the first time, I was also confused by the sexual theme, but once you get used to it, the series is super exciting.
its just about cooking, the food is just so good that for the judges a single bite is like experiencing-well, you know already btw most anime sink their budget in cooking scenes, its nuts how good the food always looks🤣
As it's probably been explained ed 100 times now, it's a comedy competitive cooling show. And it's risque because they often visualise the deliciousness off the food via the word "foodgasm" and all associated imagery.
this is one of those anime's that I can not recommend enough and imo is one of the best anime to come out in the last decade. Every episode had me back in the kitchen and I have cooked several things from this show.
A cooking ahow where disagreements are solved with iron chef competitions with LOTS of fan service. Taking the term foodgasm literally for the humir of it all, very good show
Just finished watching your reactions. Hope you do Twin Star Exorcist or Blood Blockade Battlefront next time. Love to see your reaction on their openings and endings
Honestly, my intro to weird anime that aren't fighting or intrigue was Eyeshield and then Prince of Tennis. After those things I kinda realized anything could look badass if you put enough effort into the visuals so Food Wars probably didn't surprise me as much as it could've.
I had the urge to watch food wars again about the time you uploaded this. Must be fate. I would totally hop on the patreon if you reacted to this show. It would have to be only on there, they shoot it down pretty quick when reacted to
Preety much here is a short summary of the show. The show ot about Yukihira Soma who transfers to Totsuki academy(preety much the best school when it comes to coulanary skills but the school essentialy has a class system where depending on the skill of the chefs they can eather have no rights or if they are part of the elite 10 they can literaly suspend any student they want). And the goal is to beat the 10 best in a cooking match. And if its an official match they can claim the seat for themself.
Gonna throw a classic at you for an OST recommendation. Serial Experiments:Lain is one of the best anime OSTs of the 90's, and this was back when single artist OSTs weren't that popular. Great psychological drama as an anime too.
Quick Synopsis: People go to a cooking school where fighting and epic battles are portrayed through cooking. The most delicious food incurs "foodgasms" where the obvious happens. No nudity is actually full shown in the anime at all. Side note: The artist for the manga is originally a hentai (X rated manga) artist.
It’s a cooking high school where you settle your disputes in a cooking competition. The slight edgey stuff happens when the judges tasting the food are trying to imagine a way to describe it which is tamed down visually by season 3. Nothing inappropriate is ever shown aside from some suggestions from gross food🤣. Other than that it’s a pretty tame story with good characters and a decent plot.
It is very literally about cooking and making cooking look and feel as epic and bombastic as possible. And all the recipes are repeatable in real life, the writer employing an actual chef to develop the food showcased. It's such an enjoyable and interesting show. The boob/nudity/fan service stuff is a very small part of the overall show, more of its way of getting its foot in the door and especially dying down after the first few episodes, but the internet is horny and everyone that's not watched it before hyper-focuses on that element.
I think you get it pretty right. It is about cooking competition, the fighting and powers are metaphorical. And yes, there is a lot of naked people lol
OKAY SO BASICALLY XDDDDD it's a show entirely about cooking, but they demonstrate how out-of-this-world delicious the food is by how many clothes fly off when you take a bite. essentially, it's the LITERAL definition of "foodgasm" i personally adore the show because it's really REALLY stupid but extremely fun to watch and laugh at just how absurd it gets, and also the food they cook legitimately makes your mouth water, it's drawn so freakin WELL
Food Wars is just something special. I love it some people hate it. It has some echii moments sure but just give it a try. The vibe u get from this anime is unique and u just want to cook for urself ngl.
Brother, trust me: You don't have to record or stream it, but set aside 25 minutes of your day to watch Episode 1 of this show, and many things will become clear. AS A BONUS, you'll learn stuff about cooking that you normally wouldn't have ever considered, even from just one episode. This series blends education, comedy, action, and safe-for-TV fanservice in a way you'll seldom see elsewhere. Every single dish you see in this series (if you end up watching more in the future) is something that has a recipe that you can read, learn, and then cook for yourself, no matter how unbelievable the dish looks.
I loved your description at 11:20. This video is from a year ago so you probably watched the anime already, but your description without seeing anything besides the opening was pretty close: "So this is about a kid who grew up obsessed with cooking and now is part of this cooking battles". Yes, pretty much it is xD.
basically in the anime when someone eat good food it shows how they feel, like mostly ripping their clothes of. but the plot is very good and those scenes just makes the anime very funny and very describing of the foods taste and all that. pls waych it
Yeah please react to the Citrus OP by nano.Ripe And Food Wars ist a about a boy who is In the best food school in Japan in which one clarifies everything through food competitions, where 3 juries evaluate the cooked food of both parties and one wins. The reason why you are shown such strange things when you google food wars is that they cook so well in the anime that people climax in their mouths because it is so delicious. sometimes it's too much, but i love food wars!!!

This anime is such nostalgia and my favorite since it first came out "
This anime came out about 7 years ago and my first thought when hearing that was "what?"
The foodgasms are metaphorical. What you're seeing in Google Images are of course said foodgasms, the kinds of things people get shocked about. The anime uses many metaphors to describe the characters' cooking styles. Toriko is another food-related anime that is quite literal about fighting with food and food utensils.
I would love to rewatch Food Wars with you. One of my favorite anime ever.
Honestly it’s a great show and I’d 100% be down for a patreon exclusive reaction for it. It’s just a lot of fun and hype
that's not necessary. its fine for yt as long as the audio isn't deafend thats bloody annoying. the stuff that it shows is sfw and the important stuff isn't even shown.
Absolutely love how whenever someone reacts to these openings, from 1 to 4 they all go:
''Ah ok so there's not actual fights....right? Right! yeah ok, no actual fights, surely''
And then OP 5 happens and everyone goes: ''.....or are they?!''
Love it coz thats just such a fun shared experience between reactors
If you are a foodie or enjoy cooking, this is definitely a must see. It’s based on real food and cooking techniques. 😋
You should watch the Dororo opening.
I was honestly having stale taste on anime recently till I started watching your vids. Your innocent reactions is just...superb. I see myself introducing anime for the first time.
bro this is so nostalgic, especially the first opening, i remember coming home after school and just putting on the episodes and jam with the openings
Sir, you are on point on all your guesses on this anime! It's amazing!
Trust me, if you watch this, you'll be on the edge of your seat just like you're watching attack on titan, the food battles are that good.
The 1st Food Wars Opening is still one of my Most Favourite Anime Openings of All Time 🛐
Can't wait for you to do a reaction video to the first episode of this anime!!
this show is everything you like about anime, and definitely the cheekiness is just on the surface. I am a "86" and "Demon Slayer" big fan and I need to admit that "Food Wars" is still in my top 5 most beloved anime series. I am more than sure that Luke would love it.
I'd love to see this show on your patreon! Its so much fun
LOL. In all of these reactions you take intros so literally. It's entertaining.
The cooking in this show is actually epic, and explores real techniques. :D
Shows like this when they are doing everyday tasks or sports anime often use exaggerated scenarios, special effects, and metaphor to convey emotion or taste and presentation in the case or food wars.
Not going to lie, this Anime is my guilty pleasure. I've watched the whole show more then 10 times. I love it so freaking much.
yess finally thank you bro.. Ive literally been asking for this since last month
It's a miracle that THAT THUMBNAIL is still up on UA-cam
The dishes in this anime are realy nice When you can Cook and eat one of this .
Your yesterdays stream was rearly nice
you have no idea how tough the restaurant business is do you. i worked in restaurants for thirty years. all the way through the ranks. these young chefs are fighting for a chance at a prestigious restaurant or starting their own place. the cooking competitions allow them to show new skills and what they learned plus they build up their reputations slowly earning names for what they do. i admire what they try to do as i did it myself the hard way earning respect through work alone.
I haven't started watching yet, but I already liked it because I know that the reaction to these openings will be cool
"Shirtless guy" is one of the best characters in the show, fucking love the man
That anime is amazing, a diferent subject... History is good.. Its so nice to assist.
Honestly my favorite anime. The story and characters just work so well. Also the mc soma is the GOAT
Thats all, love your content bro keep it up. also react to bungou stray dogs ending too its
fire.
its a great anime!
IMO, the fanservice wasn't unnecessary tho, it would be great even without it
But lets be honest it makes it that much better xD
also, the 'not safe for work' scenes dont rly show any of the private parts, they left it for your imagination ;)
it doesnt get any more than the scene in 3rd opening
I can tell you, i watched it together with my brother and mom,so its not that bad,
we just had a laugh every now and then ;)
Food Wars is a good anime, the author has done a lot of research on cooking !!!!
The fan service is especially put forward on the "pleasure" that can provide the food of course overplayed BUT OMFG all the food in this anime look SO FU***ING GOOD !!!!!!!!
This anime is really fun anyway.
Trust me you gotta watch and react to food wars it is one of my favorite anime of all time definitely in my top 10 I would probably place it around 5th or 3rd favorite of all time
when he was describing battling with food it made me think of Toriko. Has such a catching OP and the show is all about food battles.
Excellent reaction!
When I saw Food Wars for the first time, I was also confused by the sexual theme, but once you get used to it, the series is super exciting.
That 4th opening slaps hard dude. Its so good.
its just about cooking, the food is just so good that for the judges a single bite is like experiencing-well, you know already
btw most anime sink their budget in cooking scenes, its nuts how good the food always looks🤣
As it's probably been explained ed 100 times now, it's a comedy competitive cooling show. And it's risque because they often visualise the deliciousness off the food via the word "foodgasm" and all associated imagery.
The endings are fantastic as well.
Most of comments are spot on. Fun fact, all the dishes that are made in show can actually be made in real life. Though with lots of prep.
What you need is to watch this amazing work of art
this is one of those anime's that I can not recommend enough and imo is one of the best anime to come out in the last decade. Every episode had me back in the kitchen and I have cooked several things from this show.
you've mastered the art of thumbnails
Don't watch alone we need the reaction to this amime lol
A cooking ahow where disagreements are solved with iron chef competitions with LOTS of fan service. Taking the term foodgasm literally for the humir of it all, very good show
The Fights in this anime are in Cook Duells alias shokogeki. And the better dishis wins.
i suggest to hear the endings too they are very good, anyway thank you for bringing back old memories
Just finished watching your reactions. Hope you do Twin Star Exorcist or Blood Blockade Battlefront next time. Love to see your reaction on their openings and endings
kingdom openings and endings are all I'm going to say, its a good series of songs I think you'll really like.
Food Wars op are a masterclass in getting people to question whether or not metaphors exist.
6:10 It's always after you compliment a certain things.
Honestly, my intro to weird anime that aren't fighting or intrigue was Eyeshield and then Prince of Tennis.
After those things I kinda realized anything could look badass if you put enough effort into the visuals so Food Wars probably didn't surprise me as much as it could've.
its a playing words "war" so they emphasized it with armor and weapons etc
This episode really makes me want to see you do the Yu Gi Oh and Yu Gi Oh GX openings, and tell us what those might be about.
its about going to cooking school strict school and if you fail, youre out and there are competitions and becoming the best etc
9:32 her being chained up is a metaphor about how she is restrained by her family and not reallly able to be free because of it
I think you get it pretty right. It is about cooking competition, the fighting and powers are metaphorical. And yes, there is a lot of naked people lol
OKAY SO BASICALLY XDDDDD
it's a show entirely about cooking, but they demonstrate how out-of-this-world delicious the food is by how many clothes fly off when you take a bite.
essentially, it's the LITERAL definition of "foodgasm"
i personally adore the show because it's really REALLY stupid but extremely fun to watch and laugh at just how absurd it gets, and also the food they cook legitimately makes your mouth water, it's drawn so freakin WELL
Food Wars is just something special. I love it some people hate it. It has some echii moments sure but just give it a try. The vibe u get from this anime is unique and u just want to cook for urself ngl.
The “asking for a friend” line absolutely slayed me
The second guess sounded like he was explaining TORIKO 🤣 😂
8:10 you just described Toriko xD anime about fighting and fooď
basically in the anime when someone eat good food it shows how they feel, like mostly ripping their clothes of. but the plot is very good and those scenes just makes the anime very funny and very describing of the foods taste and all that. pls waych it
Yeah please react to the Citrus OP by nano.Ripe
And Food Wars ist a about a boy who is In the best food school in Japan in which one clarifies everything through food competitions, where 3 juries evaluate the cooked food of both parties and one wins. The reason why you are shown such strange things when you google food wars is that they cook so well in the anime that people climax in their mouths because it is so delicious. sometimes it's too much, but i love food wars!!!
