Amazing that your husband’s grandfather taught you to quilt. That great to know. In my family, it was not ok for little boys to sew. That was a woman’s activity. Finally in 2012, I taught myself to sew at about age 56... it’s never too late...
I had the same scenario. However after both of my parents passed away I started working on learning to make clothing items and now have started learning to make quilts.
