Glad this is finished!! I had this idea over a year ago, and started working on it around september, ((so a lot of images are old to me by now :')) I finished this on June but I couldn't get a type of typography that I liked enough to put on and kept leaving it on hold.

I liked this duo's dinamic in the first arc, they were really close as apprentices! And its sad to think they barely have any interactions after Sand and Fire became mates. So I like to headcanon they stayed as close friends.
And having Dust mentoring their daugther just seemed sweet! Also made them confort eachother after Squirrelpaw's disapearence to the Great Journey.

People forgot so quickly how close Dustpelt and Sandstorm were as apprentices and never seem to carry that over to when they were older. Glad to see someone acknowledge it! Beautiful work!
I love that when Sandstorm and Graystripe became elders, Bramblestar thought he saw Dustpelts and Firestars spirits with them
i never realised dust mentored sand's daughter, that is SO SWEET. i love love love this, m/f platonic friendships are so special in media and this captures it perfectly
I love this so much. Characters from the first arc get forgotten so easily, such as Greystripe, Whitestorm, Silverstream, Willowpelt, Whiteclaw, etc. I’m glad not only you made a stunning PMV, but also included first arc characters. Even more so these two! I loved their dynamic and this is like a dream come true! Everything fits so well together, from the art, to the lyrics. Once again, wonderful PMV.
P.S. I was just thinking about underrated characters and went through a “underrated warrior cat character marathon,” and I’m so glad I get to add this to my list. I’m going to rewatch this video for the fifth time in a row now.

How is this so underrated!? I haven't read a single Warrior Cats book, but everything was so well drawn, that I exactly knew what was going on! The expressions and your art style in general is so wonderful. The Typhography (if you call it that xD) is wonderful and perfectly underlines your drawings!

I wish Erin made a specific book about these two, how they became friends in the nursery, what patrols/battles they went on together before Firestar came to ThunderClan, and how their lives went on as Warriors in general. Missed opportunity but this PMV is simply amazing at what we got in the books 💝
Looking at some of these designs and OH MY GOD HETEROCHROMIA LEAFPOOL. THAT’S SO PERFECT.
This is so amazing! I’m shocked at how underrated this is! I love how it really shows the relationship between Sandstorm and Dustpelt changing and evolving, but eventually proving to still love each other as best friends in the end! I feel like Sandstorm and Dustpelts relationship is kind of ignored by fans and shadowed by Sandstorm and Firestars relationship, but I honestly think it’s super wholesome. And the fact there aren’t any romantic undertones with Dustpelt liking Sandstorm makes it so much more wholesome! (Especially considering Spottedleaf, Cinderpelt, and Sandstorm all liked Firestar at one point)
I also want to mention that Leafpaw/Leafpools design IS SO CUTE AAH THE MULTI-COLORED EYES ARE ADORABLE
Again again, I wanna mention how I think that it would be cool if Sandstorm got her own novella. I know that most people wouldn’t be interested in it and it would probably never happen, but I would love to know how she felt and what was going on inside her head when she was beginning to fall for Fireheart. It would be really interesting to me, but I’m not sure if anybody else would like to read it- 😅

I find it kinda weird bc Fireheart was her mentor at one point so it’s like an apprentice liking their mentor, but I guess the warriors universe isn’t shy about relationships with big age gaps. *AHEM*
*a list of the age gap relationships that I can remember*
Patchpelt and somebody (Graystripes parents) This is like the biggest age gap in the book, this is literally like a 15 year old getting together with a 60 year old. **gags intenstly** One of them was a young warrior when the other was a senior warrior, and could have honesty been an elder.
Squilf and Bramble (As well as Squilf and Ash) Bramble was already a warrior when Squilf was a kit, and that just like… *what*
Ok so hear me out, Thrushpelt and Bluestar- They never were in a relationship and Blue didn’t share the feelings, but Thrush was a warrior when Blue was just a kit, so again, big weird age gap. Blue and Oak wasn’t an age gap because of the interaction Blue and Crooked had as apps at gatherings, and they were both around the same age, which would mean Blue and Oak would also be around the same age, since Oak and Crooked are brothers in the same litter.
Ok so, I’m not going into detail because ✨I don’t like talking about pedos✨ but Spottedpaw and Thistleclaw
Oh boy this one is notorious in the community for being p3d0ph1llia in a warriors/kids book. And it’s not even like: “Oh, if somebody is being a predator then tell an adult! Spotted doesn’t even tell an adult about his behavior (probably due to being gro0med) and instead decides to just become a medicine cat to avoid him. Also, she doesn’t run away because he’s being possessive, a creep and a predator, she ultimately runs away because he was training in the dark forest. (P.S I got this info from Moonkitis vid on it so if you wanna learn more listen to that) (Also Moonkiti is great)

I acctually like the deatail of LeafPool having hetarochromia (different colored eyes)
This made me realise that dustpelt, who hated firestar and chilled with sandstorm ended up a cool guy and mentored one of their daughters. Shows the trust he gained!

The moment I read warrior cats a shiver fell down from my spine… the more I read the faster I did. We all know when we read warrior cats we can’t forget it. Neither can we forget the part that if Firepaw didn’t exist then dustpelt and sandstorm would’ve become mates.

this is extremely cute! I love pmvs that focus on the more underrated arc 1 cats (specially since arc 1 is the only series I read 😭). loved how you portrayed their relationship and the transition from both of them mocking firepaw to sandstorm admitting her feelings was sooo wholesome.

Fun fact, the team said Dustpelt and Sandstorm were going to be mates but she and Firestar happened instead. They also said Dustpelt had feelings for Sandstorm and held a grudge against Firestar for a long time after bc he stole Sand away from him

this made me tear up, now I'm headcanoning that dustpaw had a bit of a crush on her and was disappointed, but chose to stay her friend and move on. and that dust was kind of like another dad or an uncle to squirrel and leaf, and they loved him as much as their mom did. it's a shame that things that could lead to a special bond between cats that otherwise would barely know each other (like leafpool and dustpelt) get pushed aside and all we get are families, romance, mentor/apprentice, and the occasional relationship that exists purely for the plot. screw more forbidden romances, I want best friends who become close with their friends' kits, gossip, and friends who sneak out together (or to meet from opposing clans).

Oh my god this is so cute, the way you showcased their friendship was just golden! Platonic relationships are so important and these two were so close in the first series, I was sad we didn't get to see a ton of their friendship later on, but you did a great job! It was when she snuck out to join Brambleclaw, crowpaw, tawnypelt, stormfur, and feathertail during arc 2
