I love how you captured how Leaf’ Pool must’ve felt watching HER own kids call her sister mother and grew loving to her as they didn’t know at the time she was their actual mother. It really shows what Leaf’ Pool went through by accidentally having kits and was (kinda) forced to give them up because of a silly little starclan cat gaslighting both she and her sister. Absolutely love this pmv and how you pictured Leaf’ Pool!

What it just the cherry on top is even when dying holly refers to squirrel as her real mother with leaf pool being there and she has to watch her die while calling out to her sister as her mother invalidating her presence 😭🫠
I think this captures her feelings perfectly, and the idea that losing Holly as her apprentice probably made her feel even farther from her kits than before. Yes, she trained jay, but he never wanted to be a medicine cat, so she probably felt how much disdain he had for her because he was forced to train under her. Holly had wanted to and it probably hurt her more to lose her.

This is genuinely so heartbreaking :( Leafpool went through so much because of StarClan and it's honestly so frustrating how they were like "oh go ahead with your relationship!" and then pulled a 180 on her

I love how you portrayed leafpool’s pain; not being able to raise her kits, and instead having her sister to. Leafpool literally had to act like a stranger to her own kits,m. The closest she has ever gotten to “raising” her kits was apprenticing hollypaw, then jaypaw, leapfool deserved the world :(

I don't normally comment on random warrior pmvs that show up in my fyp but SHEESH this portrays perfectly what Leafpool must've felt while watching her kits growing up not knowing she was their real mother.

I love your art style so much! it’s so beautiful! i love leafpool so so much this is such a lovely pmv! i love how well you showcased leafpool’s sadness watching her kits growing up without knowing that she’s their mother! you do emotions so well! i felt so bad for leafpool when hollyleaf decided to become a warrior apprentice instead, it was like she was leaving her! i’m sure she enjoyed having jay around, but we all know how grumpy he gets! i love leafpool so much!
okay aside from the fact i absolutely adore the designs, especially fluffy hair hollyleaf, and everything about your art being gorgeous, i love that we as a community are kinda focusing in on leafpool's relationship with hollyleaf. i feel like there's alot more to it than what we've already portrayed
Mothers struggle so much which is why I hate when people call Mapleshade or Bluestar cruel mothers. The pain of losing a child is beyond comprehension. Mistakes are made in everyone’s childhood, but their love for their kits shouldn’t be questioned
Bluestar I can understand, but Mapleshade?? I mean yeah sure it was sad for her to lose he kits, but can we talk about how much of a brat she was? She litteraly always was mean. But I feel like the Fandom is forgiving her sins just because she was a mother.
Can we also talk about Frecklewish in this story? Yes Maple suffered, but I feel like Freckle and MANY other cats suffered because of Maple's bs. And while she was sad, this is no excuses to ruin anyone else's life.
Freclewish was lied to and litteraly lost the three kits she thought were the last thing related to her brother, right after she lost her mother as an apprentice. Also the med that she killed which left Thunderclan weak because they only had an apprentice now.
+ Reedshine who had to watch her mate die, and see her kits grow without their dad. No matter how much Maple suffered, it's not an excuse to have ruin so many lives, as much as Ashfur had no right killing so many cats and ruining so many lives just because "he lost his love".
Mapleshade's vengeance is written from Maple's view, which makes us believe that she is the only victim when she clearly isn't. She even had the opportunity to start a new life with Miller(I believe it's his name) but instead went on a murdering spree when Freckle was just grieving herself for being lied to, the med who told the truth to the leader just did his job(+The leader being Freckle's dad, who also had to suffer through Maple's lies). And ReedShine who had to go through the same pain as Maple for the sake of revenge.
I feel like it would've been better if Maple managed to get out of her grief in a more healthy way, where she would maybe even have another chance to have kits with Miller.. she could've had potential as a grieving mother(much like Speckletail or Fernsong) but as a vilain.. no, it just doesn't work for me, and when looking at the story from the other's point of views, it completely shatters the whole "I'm the victim" Maple want us to believe in her book.
I hate both of them ,but I will say that Mapleshade was never a bad mother she did nothing wrong to her kits. Bluestar the only reason I will say that she is a bad mother is because she wasn’t there for her kits and gave them up quickly. I understand why she did it and all but still. Plus them being
“bad parents “doesn’t really have anything to do with why I hate them . I hate their characters ,that’s why I hate them.
@@Emerald864x I agree, I personally love tragic characters! Especially mothers, hence the reason I adore them. They had a lot love for their kits, maple couldn’t save them and blue chose her pride.

Leafpool and Squirrelflight deserve better. Starclan really gaslighted Firestar's daughters and everyone is just told it is okay. Also I don't know if you take requests but it would be cool to see a full PMV on Squirrelflight showing the toxicity of both her relationships with Ashfur/Bramblestar
I love this PMV, Leafpool is one of my favorite characters, and it's really nice to see that she's being appreciated when I saw a lot of Leafpool haters during my early days in the fandom. I'm also glad you included the fact that Hollypaw was her apprentice before Jaypaw, I feel like a lot of people forget about that, so it's a really nice touch you showed it here. Also, your design for her is absolutely gorgeous!

I literally love the character designs so much like the amount of inspiration I got from this- I love the scenery and how you captured leafpools feeling through having to watch h her kits grow up in a lie. So much emotion, I love the hair and facial expressions, ahh. So pretty.

Lycancthropy always serves up a warm bowl of soup on a cold winters day jeez this is amazing how you captured the misunderstood bits of leaf pool is crazy as hell and the designs are on point!I love holly leaf and leaf pools designs they just hit the spot even holly leafs long hair! They fit them so much and jeez Firestar is just like squirrel flight!but u can see hints of Firestar in leafpool!I gotta say I’ve been watching for a year now and jeez if u ever did maps I would jump into patricipating man you inspired me to animate!and you showed the struggles of Leafpool never getting to actually even talk to hollyleaf everything in there life is so fast and leafpool nearly was getting close with hollyleaf during the medicine app time thing but she couldn’t get a grasp on hollyleaf and the determination then she just broke down crying is incredible!and the way you inspire me is crazy I’ve done animation for 6 months and when I’m done I just watch your vids!and the way leafpools only daughter she had she was like the most distant with is heartbreaking anyways thank you for your masterpieces.

Honest to god I’ve watched this almost daily since I first saw it, this is probably one of my favorite PMVs out there?? From a focus on one of my favorite characters, to the highlighting of an interesting relationship, a catchy song, gorgeous designs, and spectacular art that conveys emotions in such a wonderful way!! Just watching this makes me get inspired to work more on my own art as well, your use of colors are so nice and your shapes are spectacular! I always love it when you upload!

Absolutely in love with your designs for these cattos!! Leafpool has such a gorgeous color pallete and stripes and I love how that carries in to lion as well. The expression are lovely throughout this whole pmv and it is beautiful how well you captured leafpools sadness and tears. I also adore how cute they looked as babies. Also that one holly drawing where she was running out the den looks really good!!! That's a really unusual angle but it looks *really* good, which I find quite impressive!! Amazing work!!!!

Her story could have been written so much better but Erins decided trash a potential amazing storyline if we had more insight in how she felt before during and after, I wish the three would have forgiven her like they forgave Squirrel but alas, they could have done so much more for my gal :(
