I genuinely love how the final battle just ended up being a one-on-one match full of shounen excess, complete with the shouting and the powering up and everything. Great game. I had the same reaction as you when the little light bubble with Alphen and Shionne brought them back to the planet in the ending cutscene, like, "Are they just going to be making out?" Too wholesome of a game for that, I suppose, but it would have been funny.
Hmm. Kind of reminds me of the ending to The Fifth Element. Except they were doing a little more than just making out. 😅

Haha, some of the greatest Jrpg's of all time use the light bubble ending! Xenogears, although really old now. And a rushed 2nd disc. Still had a very nice memorable ending like this.
Not to mention tying it all off with a big "forgiveness" and "the power of friendship" bow. As corny as they are, the lines "it takes true power to forgive" and "I'll show you the limits of your solitude!" are as shounen as it gets. You gotta love how earnest it is.
I just finished the main story over this last weekend. I honestly cried while watching the ending. It is such a great story.

There is a heightened level intellect applied to this that is appreciated deeply.
The depth of every action, every thought, every conversation, every mission is perfect.

Had to rewatch the ending since story DLC is coming out in November 2023. Its set 1 year after the events of the main game, so I'm super excited and wasnt expecting to get a continuation of it.

I think it was a perfect narrative, 10/10 character development, a mysterious story full of twists and an awesome ending. I love a good love story /my fovorite being Sword Art Online) so i was really happy when i saw them getting married. I cant wait for the addon coming next month which is set 1 year after the ending (it is around 20hours)
I really liked the game from the very start and it only got better and better. This story has so many different layers. Story is really great and non ordinary cause at first I thought it would be straight forward like tsundere girl, good boy and squad just fight bad guys left and right. But story got many turns and is very deep.
Now it's mine favorite JRPG game.
Totally loved all dialogues. In these JRPGs dialogue heavy games/visual novels, dialogues are often empty. And are made just so characters would say something, to make interaction. There were almost no dumb unnecessary dialogues and phrases. Closer to the end Alphen started to give pathos speeches but that's all.

I just casually pick it to try after the collab with sao cause im a huge fan .
But damn what a game. The story is beautiful and the gameplay alwase intense . The animation is so cool.
I'll come again to watch the dlc reaction after i complete it.
My favorite character to play are rinwell kisara and alphen
I really wanted to learn to play Kisara better, but it was hard to focus on too many characters at once.

Well I'm happy that you liked this game. Your playthrough was so good. I'm whatsing these episodes a lot. I loved music so much and beautiful game. 1 thing there 2as I didint like was the characters yelling on the fights
Just realized that Bunny leave Rinwell those glasses almost the whole series 😅
Beginning was definitely rough as its literally just bickering between Shionne and Alphen for 90% of it. Glad you stuck with it though.

You want another emotional game I got one for you armored Core 6 fires of Rubicon it's a Mechs game you never once see a single person however the emotion that they carry through the Machs - AC is really incredible The Joy the sorrow you feel it's truly an incredible game I highly recommend it if you want another good style storytelling
