@@67marlins81 Sure, they were really funny. They still are, at times. You can see all the old episodes 'on demand' free on some streaming services and cable. I saw one where Al Franken and Davis were running for president. Al kept saying at the end of fake political ads "Vote for me, Al Franken. You'll be glad you did." In that phony monotone voice. Really funny. I watch old episodes. Wasn't around, yet when they were new. Still funny and relevant today. 😉

I’m huge into music and followed this case closely, however I didn’t know about his TBI. I fell approximately 30 ft and received a TBI with diffuse axonal injury as well as front lobe damage six years ago and one of the first things I did when I got home was get the guns out of my house as I didn’t trust my brain with them. My fight or flight response is easily triggered, thankfully 90 % of the time It’s flight. It’s been a long six years filled with cognitive rehab, surgeries and a service dog. I’m much better now but still have issues and will probably never own a gun again. ...Side note The movie with Al Pacino is excellent.

You guys remember the song called "Be my little baby"? Spector made that. He was always known as "the wall of sound." all of his productions were monster smash records. But because of the 60s, and the way you were allowed to act because you were a Hollywood producer, Spector was known in music circles as I remember Very well, for having an ego problem. And that is the root of what Dr Grande is speaking about. The "Famous" Phil Spector felt so full of power, he felt it was okay to be abusive. To musicians, crew, record execs and women. Spector is of the Marilyn Monroe era where if you were able to make money, a lot of money, Your behavior was allowed. I remember the era. I think Phil is exactly where a music ego manic belongs. I am just sorry that Kelly had to die because of his bullshit Hollywood attitude. Let's face it guys. That town is weird.

The scary part of Spector is he may believe his abusive behaviour was normal due to the way his brain processed information. Spectors enormous success was well earned. He is a great songwriter, but an enormously talented Producer& Arranger. Producing The Beatles Album, Let it Be, Several Lennon albums, including Imagine, Many MoTown classics like. Be My Baby and 100+ more. Inventing , he Wall of Sound. Which is still widely used. He seemed to have some negatively effected by the motorcycle accident. Many artists can testify that he was always nice, one on one. He couldn't behave normal in social situations with more than 1 person. No one in the music-industry can dispute his success. His first hit as an artist: To Know Him, Is to Love Him. was about his father who committed suicide when Spector was a teenager. And is the Phrase on his fathers Grave. I have to separate the man from his work. I love his produced songs and the elegant arrangement of his songs, aka: The Wall of Sound.Producing all from Cher, Tina Turner and Celine did to The Ramones.. He will always be an important part in the history of music.
But murder or behaving like a lunatic for over 40years, can never be accepted. A sad life.. A sad story. But his music will live one nevertheless.

True.. Lennon got really angry because it was so loud, it made his ears ring for hours.. Spector really blew a great opportunity when Lennon gave him free hands to Produce him. He was almost like a different person on the "Imagine Sessions". Where Phil seemed kind and gentle and sang harmonies with Lennon. And it was reverse.. Lennon made Phil sing again and again on the harmonies to "Oh Yoko". He was used to doing easy 3-pice harmonies in one take with Paul and George.. Still Lennon always spoke kindly of him.. Lennon had to record and produce the whole album by himself 8 months later. He produced it in 1 week. "Stand by Me" sounds great to my ears.. He never needed Spector after all..

Would love to see another Dr. Grande video more in depth on Spector’s personality and history - it is intense. His first hit single was “to know him is to love him” by the teddy bears - which was the epitaph on his father’s grave, whom at a young age Spector found dead of suicide. Along with his musical innovations came some of the most intense NPD I’ve ever heard of, like when he compares himself to Galileo, or basically confessing in the documentary , which may be the ultimate narcissism. Please go deeper on Phil, Dr. Grande!

Could you do an episode on Traumatic Brain Injury in general? I used to work with people with TBI. They could be rehabilitated, but there was something about them even years later that made their thought processes “different,” no matter what specific part of the brain was involved.

Thanks for making it seem like we're all a bunch of criminals.
The vast majority of TBI is mild and there is a high recovery rate. If the injury is significant enough to require in-patient neuro-rehab then clearly substantial damage was done to the brain. You'd think "differently" too if that happened. And as anyone who works with TBI knows, each injury is so individual. So I'm not sure what generalization about thought processes you are trying to make.
Furthermore, I doubt you had much scientific knowledge about TBI for your professional role, because diffuse axonal injury doesn't happen to a "specific part of the brain" which is what makes prognoses so challenging.

Dr. Grande, I really appreciate that you understand certain details about firearms, such as the trigger pull effort on a revolver in double-action and single-action mode. I imagine that a large number of clinicians (and most people who work in media) have no inkling as to how firearms work at all, let alone that the trigger pull on a revolver is quite heavy or that they can fire in one of two modes. Many wheelguns have a 12 pound pull in double action mode and 4-5 pounds in single action mode. In the Jeremy DeWitte video, you noted details about the vehicles that police impersonators drive. Good on you for being obsessive enough about details (as I am) in order to speak knowledgeably.
