i have just started with mine, dis asembled the bike and cut the quad in 2,now i have to figure out the best way to get it together. i am having trouble getting the rear axel in the right angle,i want the quad to be high but the chain colides with the bike chassis so might have to cut a part away and restrengthen the frame later on. the feont might also become a chalange but wel see how it goes when i get there
Wow that sounds nuts man... I'm in the process of finishing my quad bike project after slapping a CBR500 engine in, if I had went for a 600cc it wouldn't have fitted and I would of had to do modifications on the frame too!
Thanks for the comment agipson. I think I know the other quad you mean and I agree that the 900rr banshee seems to work well. It is nice to see vids of these toys in their element and doing fun stuff like hill climbs and drag launches and dirt tracking in a field. cheers.
Hi, It's no mystery really. I used a rather old cbr which had a steel chassis. To join an aluminum cbr chassis to steel lt parts you might try bolting and epoxying some adapter plates. Thanks for the interest. Cheers.
@krisjames3 Thanks for commenting man. This project started with an idea, a partially stripped sportbike and a quad rolling chassis. I had to work with what I had and fabricate along the way. Each step leading to the next. It was mostly welding tubing and sheet steel together with some machining to make spacers for the rear swing arm and suspension. I guess what I'm saying is there really was no plan, just a goal. There should be some interesting updates soon.
hi im interested in doing the same kind of build like yours using a suzuki lt250r frameand cbr 600 aswell but my only question is how did you weld the front of the quad frame onto the alluminium bike frame. please reply it would be greatly appriacated. thanks. great build by the way.
ok thanks. i tought they were aluminum. thats grand should be ok to do so. did you have any problems with the quad in the long run..? she still running good.? thank alot for the help.
im getting a race blaster motor and putting it on my 82 honda atc 125 3 wheeler and putting on a suspention so it should go fast.and i like your quad verry fast you should do a sppe test.
I have only 2 words to describe this build: "fucking awesome", and 2 words to describe the builder: "absolute genius". (the background music for the video sucked though haha it should have been a metal music or something because it would fit much, anyways your still awesome!)
I have the same bike could you possibly walk me through the process of getting the frame and rear end converted? I've always wanted one of these bikes and I'm very excited and nervous to start the project.
@nclark557 Thanks for the ?, I have about $800 in materials into the quad and about 84 hrs worth of fabrication time. so figure 3k if I only charge my self $25/hr for build hours and nothing for design hours. I was riding it in 4" of snow last week and it was surprisingly well behaved.
Hi, do you still have it? How did you match sprockets? Because as far as i know the motorcycle chain is wider...and how did you allign rear sprocket with front sprocket? Thanks in advance.
How much of the bikes wire harness did u use and did you have to extend or shorten any wires to have come together I have the same quad and am down to the wire harness and having problems I am not much into the electronic side of things
look I have a polaris trailblazer that i picked up to do the sled engine on made a jack shaft and the engine keeps eating the shaft lol. so I recently picked up a cb 750 to do the same idea but it makes me nervous to cut the bike up and wheeler front BC the steering shaft has same plate at the top but its opposite of yours any suggestions cause id hate for it to not work as I imagine. my only thought is to run it through the neck of the bike and do away with the plate but I want it to b well built BC the sled engine is nasty on there I don't want shit to break BC this is a bigger engine and nastier
After all these years it is hard to say what it cost to put together. I believe the wheel and tire set I purchased was the most expensive part of the whole thing. The quad was a basket case that I got for next to nothing and the same for the bike. Engine didn't run when I got it so needed to grab some ebay ignition pickups and a coil i think. otherwise it was just play time spent in the garage cutting and welding.
Jake G this is a four cylinder inline engine now they don’t make normal four cylinder quads, one piston is all you get from a OEM quad this is a crotch rocket engine fabricated to fit inside a quad frame more powerful then a single piston 600cc quad, this modification can blow the doors of your vehicle bud
Bad ass! I’m thinking of doing this with a 05 636
I'm in the middle of doing mine now and have just come across this vid, can't wait 👊✊
How did it go as I've almost finished mine, i just have the electrics and exhaust left to do ?!

Really awesome build bud super sweet I bet that thing flys

OMG. I never would have thought to hear Pink Floyd played on a banjo.

Damnnn this cool
@Makka196 Thanks man. This project hasn't moved much lately but I think today may be a good day to fire her up and churn some dirt. Cheers
hell yeah. i would love to kno the step by step. im planning a project simethn like this
its my dream! You real man!
Nice Vid Buddy
The rear suspension is from an LT500 suzuki. It is a solid axle with chain drive.

awesome video friend ..... I will make the same using my cbr600f and a polaris xplorer 300 ..... will fly ;)
ok thanks. i tought they were aluminum. thats grand should be ok to do so. did you have any problems with the quad in the long run..? she still running good.? thank alot for the help.

Badass! Badass bike, badass song, Thanks for being Badass!
Goodness!! R u a welder? How long did that take? Few weekends? 😁
Its just insane!

Hi, there, I know this is an old vid, love this build, what year cbr did you use?
@darthnater22 Thanks for the comment dn22, I'll post up another vid after I finish the custom header and cans.
great design

Top!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Now that was bad ass!
haha, thanks man. but you didn't like the bluegrass version of pink floyd? I thought this project warranted a little banjo music ;-)
about the rear axle shaft, how you made it?? is the left and right wheel shaft are combined together or separate.
Massa ..quero um desses rsrs
genius!
I love it dude can u plis suggest me wat needed to be atv
All I want to know is how you welded aluminum to mild steel
These early cbr 600 were not fuel injected and not aluminum frames
From which quad is the front part?
good job not to many work that well, 1 other that i thought was just as cool is that ugly 900rr banshee. but props man works well..

Hi Jason I used the whole harness from the cbr600 minus the blinker wiring and the gauges aren't on it but the wires for them remain
what a dumb question dude
how much did this cost? cause i need to build something for my farm to check cows and stuff but i have VERY little money :(
could you make a blue print for this

Jeremiah Arnold soooo....?
Holy shit! that's fucking sick ahahah
I used the hole harness gauges and all everything works but no spark and no fuel pump engaging! Would u have any ideas?
if no wires are broke and you used EVERYTHING check for a bad ground somewhere. Ground must have either broke or you didn't put one on.
Vixe quase nem vi é o Foguete

Or just get a normal 600cc quad
but building it is more fun than buying a normal 600cc quad
they don't sell quads like this you fool
Jake G I think it's faster than a normal 600 to.
