    A great review.
    I had a test drive of the NextGen WildTrack and was more than impressed how quiet and smooth and powerful it was .
    I understand all the Rangers and Everests now will have the 10 speed 10R80 transmission that has been used since 2018 in the
    F150`s in America. There reliability is in question and have had legal class actions due to transmissions faults in America
    Has Ford done any updates on these transmissions to in the NextGen range ?

    Do you have a review of that white ARB kitted ranger? Be keen to hear how the BP-51 suspension compares to the stock suspension.

    Why are the A/C controls always on screen when there are buttons for it right below? I will never understand this design choice. Having them both is redundant and a waste of electronics/ screen space. You should be able to remove it from the screen.
    Ford need to update this and soon

    • @deanrwilson
      @deanrwilson 2 роки тому

      Some people like both. I'm not sure it takes up screen space? It may only be there when in climate control mode? Don't know? With a 12" screen space isn't an issue I would have thought

    • @matthewhockey8731
      @matthewhockey8731 2 роки тому +3

      @@deanrwilson it can’t be removed. The A/C option is permanent on the screen. It takes up nearly a quarter of the screen.
      It’s not the space it takes up that is the issue it’s the fact that you have a bad no of physical buttons with the exact same option digitally above it.
      It’s redundant design and makes no sense.
      I prefer the physical buttons, I can see why people would prefer the screen option.
      So why not give people the choice between having a second row of the exact same buttons or being able to free up some extra screen space to have something you find more useful on display.

      Because its hard to change settings on the screen while your driving

    • @ymml467
      @ymml467 2 роки тому

      Try changing HVAC settings quickly while driving using physical switches/knobs and then try using a screen menu for the same change... and then try both on bumpy/rocky roads...

    • @matthewh8005
      @matthewh8005 2 роки тому

      @@ymml467 No shit... fuck man, its not the presence of the physical switches, its the fact that the screen HAS THE EXACT SAME BUTTONS AS THE PHYSICAL SWITCHES BUT YOU CANT GET RID OF THE BUTTONS ON THE SCREEN SO YOU EFFECTIVELY HAVE TWO BANKS OF THE EXACT SAME CONTROLS AT THE COST OF SCREEN REAL ESTATE WHICH COULD BE BETTER USED BY HAVING SOME OTHER APP THERE INSTEAD FOR WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING GIVING YOU MORE OPTIONS FOR READILY AVAILABLE CONTROLS!
      Its not a hard concept to grasp

    I am wondering, if the BP51 in a Wildtrak with bullvar and winch would be better than the Raptor with the same amount of weight and its suspension for touring/ offroad use?

    • @AA-vr8ez
      @AA-vr8ez 2 роки тому +1

      Would probably tow more

    • @dwaynE2099
      @dwaynE2099 2 роки тому +2

      It'll tow more and carry more and cost a bit less......... but it won't hold a candle to the Raptor when driven hard off road.
      I have a current gen Ranger Raptor and spent a bit of time in an FX4 Maxx and in spots it was 30-50kph slower than the Raptor by necessity and not wanting to break the car...
      BP51 is good, but it is nothing on the total package that the Raptor is.

      @@dwaynE2099 Great first hand feedback. Do you think it will still perform as good with a bar and winch at the front of the Raptor?

    • @dwaynE2099
      @dwaynE2099 2 роки тому +3

      @@mortazaamiry6468 Raptor will be best exactly as Ford delivers it... I tried to turn mine into a tourer and added heaps of weight to make it do what I wanted, then I needed heavy springs to overcome the additional weight and it ruined the ride, handling and overall performance... after about 90,000km I pulled all the canopy, drawers and heavy stuff back off and went back to stock vehicle and suspension and couldn't believe how much better it was!
      If you put a bar and winch on I'd find the lightest bar (no hoops) and use a dyneema rope in the winch to try to limit the additional mass over the front... then if necessary set ride height with springs to bring it back to stock height. Raptor dampers are position sensitive so they work best in the factory ride position... any lift should be done with a proper revalve of the shockers (that's where I stuffed mine I think)!
      Mongrel Offroad do a winch kit for current Raptor that keeps stock bumper! Something like that'd be an awesome bit of kit if you only want the winch for emergency recoveries...

    I love the Ranger for what it is "BUT" I'm not a 4W Driver. I wish Ford made a Street Version which is a lowered version in 2WD but with the rest of the spec's of the 4WD versions. I'm amazed Ford don't look at that as there is an Un-tapped Market for a Street Version of the Ranger.

They're not the amazing motor many people think they are!... yes they were better than the 2.2 4 cylinder, and yes they made reasonable power and torque for what they were but they were stressed out too much as they were...
      If it isn't spitting coolant out due to faulty EGR coolers they're failing fuel pumps, injectors or warping heads... absolute shocker of a thing and I'm glad Ford gave them a 5 year unlimited kilometres warranty in Australia as they would run most people broke before they hit 200,000km if they're worked hard!

    So I'm out in the Simpson and the electrics fail. Can't get it in/out of 4x4 can't open / close the windows : can't even turn the car on or off. Ford dealership is 2000kms away. So WHAT DO I DO? We're kidding ourselves if these cars are game changers. Don't get me wrong. I think they're nice but it's almost at the point where u buy yourself a cheap old no thrills off-roader, mod it to your hearts content and then an EV to shoot around town in.

      I think this is happening already by the looks of the resale value of older less tech 4x4s. But then again even the GU Patrol has an ecu and canbus....which is linked to a body control module down where it gets fried if water gets in the cab. So I'm not sure what measure you apply to reliability eg in the desert. Most unreliable car on our trip there was a 100 series...supposedly bullet proof.
