Why you should NOT Listen to the Content Creators that tell you what to Make and Sell at Craft Shows

  • This is a rant about all the content creators that tell you what to make and sell at craft/vendor shows. I hope they have thick skin, I may hurt some feelings. What is funny is they have great videos, it is frustrating to see all the people that follow their guidance and do not think for themselves.

    Makes sense. I also watch Hamilton Dilbeck and he explains his process of figuring out what a person should take and talks about what does well for him and usually says, "You have to research and figure out what sells in your area and the right price."

      Yeah, I like Hamilton's videos, too. Makes you think before, hopefully, making the woodchips fly.

    I'm a laser engraving/cutting guy -- sometimes I use "those" videos for inspiration to do something similar on my own with my own artwork. The more I design stuff, the better/faster I get. If it's a build video, I watch their workflow to see if I can improve mine. I don't know what my niche is yet because I haven't made enough to know. I've made lots of one-offs so I can learn.
