Gee, thank you. This is the BEST video to explain all this. I'm new to country living, and after searching online for days, you finally answered my questions. Sure enough it was my pump. So I hired the right guy and didn't waste a ton of money paying for all the other stuff some guys tried to charge me for. One tried to install all new pressure tanks (even tho my pressure was fine as long as there was water) and a couple tried to charge me to dig a whole new well, even though the flow was clear and fine) SO THANKS!

I see you flushed the well with the replacement pump, but, i am surprised you didnt have a universal reversible pump to blast around the bottom and clean her out a little before putting in the owners full time pump. Sorry, just a perfectionist here, but just saying. Either way, thanks for sharing. It was VERY educational just the same and I appreciate you taking the time for us youtube watchers, thanks.

Thank you for this video it is enlightening to see how much work goes into replacing a well pump. I have 1 and 1/2 horsepower pump that needs to be replaced and is about 300 feet deep. I've considered doing the work my self as the videos on youtube make is seem very very "easy". The pump is only 7 years old so I am assuming issues with dirt, silt, etc should be minimal. The pump itself seems to be in the $400 - 600 range but I've been quoted upwards of 2500. That is a big hit for a pump used only for irrigation. Do you have any suggestions/recommendations for a novice?

We have been having issues with our water pressure. Installed new bladder tank, jet pump, two lines to the well. Have a 100ft well and hit water at 20ft. Still not getting enough pressure. Help please. Plumber has been here for two days with no luck.

We are trouble shooting a well, The pump runs and builds pressure to 60 lbs, however, after a few minutes the water flow slows to a trickle while the pressure tank shows that we have pressure in the system. The pump kicks back on at 40 lbs but the water flow continues to be just a trickle. If we wait awhile we get full flow for about 3-5 minutes. Any ideas?

Here in East Texas we use Hydro pneumatic tanks. It's just a tank... no bladder. They are only found in areas where water quality requires them. Water and air are mixed together in a hydro pneumatic tank to reduce the "rotten egg" smell that sulphur bacteria and hydrogen sulphide gas in the water can cause. My question is I know there is a bleeder valve down under that allows water to drain back into the well and shuts when the well restarts. I believe this is so the air in the downpipe is used to recharge the tank and a float valve in the side of the tank controls the amount of air in the tank. I currently have a 40 gal tank and want to replace it with a 120. Is the depth of that bleeder dependent on the size of the tank?

You guys do nice work. Any tips on how to find a reliable (and honest) well company. I live in Rockingham County, Virginia . Not to say they're aren't any in my area, I haven't contacted any yet. But as we all know, not everyone is truthful.....just sayin

We believe that our deep submersible pump of 400 feet has failed. Dad replaced the condenser and it started back up. Due to dad turning off the pump when we didn't need it because of a leak in the pipe mom said leave it on now it stopped again. Dad wants to install a solar well pump please advise what type of pump to replace it with.

Couple questions... Are you guys using blank end p.v.c with glue couplings? 1 Inch polyethylene would be much easier. Also wouldn't a captive air tank be more practical?? Your pump pulling tool is neat never seen one like that.
