I'm surprised that this is my first bottle, but it's also nice to know that the consistency and the price has remained the same over the years. So when I do go through this bottle I'll know what to expect in my next one.
Congratulations on reaching your 100th episode Peter. That's a huge accomplishment. It's been amazing to be part of this journey!! I do enjoy Craigellachie 13 a lot and I always have it on our bar. Joel really likes it and the 17 is fabulous!! This is one of the scotch whiskies I love that aren't peated scotch! The worm tub process is fascinating! Love the fun and malt!! In Vancouver we pay about $85 before taxes this Craigellachie! For me that's actually a great price for a delicious 13 yo scotch!! Love your channel!! I hope it's an awesome day!! Cheers!! 🙂
Thank you for being part of the journey. I really appreciate all your support and all the comments. I think I might just have to do a first Friday flight fight with Craigellachie???
@@whiskeyisajourney It's been tons of fun Peter!! I'd love to see a first Friday flight night with Craigellachie!! Have you had the 17? Huge price jump. Lovely though!! Cheers!! :-)
@@christinecamley I picked up the 17 and 23 today. Oh boy is this going to be an expensive flight. I am heading to my sisters house today to crack open the bottles and taste them and give the bottles time to breath before the 6th.
@@whiskeyisajourney Wow very pricey Peter! There is such a jump here in price from the 13 to the 17 and then to the 23! I really enjoy the 17 and 23 and probably the 17 the most! I am excited to see what you think in a flight! $$ purchase!!
First off congratulations on your 100th episode Peter....great milestone! Craigellachie 13 is an incredible value for your money. I've had multiple bottles over the past few years and every bottle has stayed consistently good. I grabbed a couple of more recently along with a Craigellachie 17 yo. The price for 13 has gone up slightly but nothing ridiculous like others. Cheers!
I'm happy the price and consistency had stayed the same. It gives me confidence to know what to expect when I need to replace this bottle. Cheers and thank you.
Thanks!!! I was supposed to be on for this video but he filmed without me. 😢 Our schedules are not as easy to line up during the school year. However, that may change soon. Stay posted for updates! 😊
Congrats on 100! I love Craigellachie 13. The mineral taste (some call sulphuric but not what you get from sherry casks). Comes from the worm tubs condensers This quickly condenses with lower copper contact. Try a Mortloch or even Glen Elgin. Great review as always!!
I'm on the hunt for the 17 and 23 so I can do a First Friday Flight fight. It has such a unique flavor. Thanks as always! I've got you in for 4 more in August. Cheers to 100 more episodes.
Fan of Craigellachie. To me it tastes like charred, dirty, apple juice. Takes really well to barrel finishes - the base spirit doesn't get overpowered by even very active casks. Look for independent bottlers like Cadenhead. I have a sherry and madeira finished Craigellachie that is one of my favorites.
Very nice video. Congrats on you 100th Sip It or Skip It. This must mean that you have quite a collection. I have the Craigellachie 13 and the Clynelish 14. I totally enjoy both as they are very complex with notes that I can pick out easily. Also, there notes that take time to identify. In the Austin, Texas area the Craigellachie is $51.99 and the Clynelish is $66.99. For the quality and the experience, I think both are a good value. When I finish both bottles, I will replace each. Sláinte!
Congratulations on another milestone Peter..!!! 🥃👍 Funk & all, this is a really good bottle. I own the Bas-Armagnac finished version which adds a touch of apple cobbler sweetness and a hint of brine to the base whisky. Both 13 year olds go for about $70 here in SoCal.
Congrats on 100 of these. May there be 100 more but with samples given so Peter doesn’t have to spend so much $$. I’m in Stafford TX and these are $55 min by me. Pre pandemic these were $41 and I bought 2 of them. One Scottish dude used this as his palate cleanser for tastings.
@@whiskeyisajourneyhi it’s definitely an acquired taste but can be very addicting. Minimum 55 maybe it’s good. You’re at one bottle because it seems like it’s just gonna keep getting more and more pricey. Good thing you never tried the 17 year. Used to be 90 bucks now it’s 159 if you’re lucky.
