Hi Ian. I want to purchase a bunch of your PDFs. Is there a way to bundle the purchase? I went to your website but see that all of the purchases are separate?
Love to but without a printer, I'm screwed. Trying to absorb on the fly. It's like eating a Double Whopper while driving.
Best guitar teacher EVER. No one explains it like stitch!!!!!!! He’s the man!!!!
i use marty and stiche
After 30+ years of playing, I'm really grateful I found your link. I've had a lot of teachers over the years and you're in the top 2 of the list. The other guy taught me technique. You're the man when it comes to connecting dots with theory. Your happiness and passion contributes so much. Thank you
From Spain, congratulations, every video is Amazing. So clear and useful...
Stich... you giving freely many Hidden Gem/Rosetta Stone Knowledge for playing guitar... for struggling learning guitarist like me. I've been stuck in that intermediate/box of suffering for two decades!
I'm finally seeing the light... to guitar/musical freedom! 🕊
Thank you! This is seriously the FIRST time I understand connection between caged and minor pentatonics! Most i have seen approach it via the major pentatonic and it confused the hell out of me
This is really fantastic. Going to take lots of practice but makes so much sense. By the way, I signed up for your Patreon a month or so ago and it was one of the best things for my guitar journey. Thanks for all you do, Ian. I get so excited when I get a Patreon email alert for your videos. But you also have a ton of prior ones for us to learn from, as well.
Ian has taught me more than anyone! I am developing a much better understanding of the fret board and USABLE MUSIC THEORY. Thank you Sensei.
So nice to hear
I've been self teaching myself guitar for about 6 years now via UA-cam and books, but stichmethod is now my go to channel everytime, I can't rate him highly enough. Cheers Stich
Music is love! God bless you!
Said it before, say it again; next to having a guitar teacher in your home, Stich is the way to go! And to make things even better - the fact that Stich looks like (sort of) some member of the Grateful Dead, makes it all very real!! 🙂
You are a fantastic teacher. I know my caged system. Through one of your caged videos. Same with what pentatonic shapes go with what caged chord. But it's the way you explain things that teaches me how to actually apply these things to my playing. Thank you very much!!!
FINALLY I now know how to connect the whole freeboard!!! Thank you So much Stich lml
This lesson is gold. Thank you!
Love the constellation analogy-thank you!
Brilliant lesson Ian. Helps me to finally find understand the relationship between the CAGED chords and their respective scales. Rock on 🤘.
Thank you so much for your lessons. God bless you always Stitch
Hey, this was a great lesson. I’ve been playing for 40 years and have kind of disregarded the CAGED method until recently. Really cool to see it all fitting together like this. And kudos for getting it all in without any jittery edits like on so many other learning videos. Cheers and rock on. -Alex
I like going back to these older videos. This one refreshes the basics.
Always love hearing from you!
I will come back in a couple of years to get up to your speed., you ar5e doing great job.
Another outrageous lesson, Ian! I have long tried to come up with a way to get this and BOOM! -- The StichMethod does it again..
The dedication is awesome stitch👌
Lesson like this always encourage me to persevere in my guitar practice. You're so generous. Thank you.
just learned the CAGED system the other day, from you ty, and already i can see it's the key to the fretboard, learning so much so fast now, thanks again.
I have recently came across your channel and in my opinion, yours is the best, when it comes to music theory and connecting the missing dots. I have seen a lot of videos on caged system, but this video answered all the questions I had and I can visualize the whole fret board now. Gonna watch all of the videos from your channel. Thank you so much. Lots of love from India 🇮🇳
this is brilliant.
great lesson and great chart to reiterate and solidify what you just said....thank you.
I could not even tell you how much this lesson meant to me. Have been constantly tripping over myself and sort of trying to work out everything in relation to box 1 which gets very confusing very quickly. Thanks a lot I have finally twigged it ie well once I'd been shown.
Dude you can even take this further if you play rythm and lead just play any chord and you know exactly where you are in the pent. scales as many just go to position 1 for orientation now they dont need to anymore
Also you can switch keys that way much easier
Thank you for teaching me this
Great explanation.Thank you
Pure gold!
This lesson is wonderful
This was literally the lesson I was looking for everywhere and be hold youve done it and done it well! Seriously thank you so much- no idea how much I appreciate this lesson
💥my mind is blown, A big THANK YOU, I needed this and more.
I learned about the power of the fifth note from Stich. I good tip is, the fifth note is usually just above the root note! Just not on the G string because the B string is a step down. In this case it shifts a fret.
Best teacher on the internet hands down and I been through 4...
"Really!!?...Really!!!" Hahah ;) I love the honesty and transparency in these lessons. Your so hard on yourself and need to give yourself more credit for the incredibly positive impact your having on people all over the world. I scroll through the comments occasionally just to see what other learners like me are putting out there and your impact and mellow genuine approach is perfect. The epiphanies I get watching your content is a god send through my theory/playing struggles.
I'm hooked. It has passed an hour and a half w/o knowing, watching your videos
Thank you! Awesome lesson.
Pretty cool! I never thought it that way, at least not consciously.
That fiesta red Strat 😍
THANKS STITCH! i have been struggling with the different forms for some time now. This was exactly what i have been needing to get all this straight in my head, Hope you dont mind me snipping and pasting those diagrams into one of my guitar folders, dont worry I never upload so this is for my traing only. GREAT VIDEO BRO!
Thanku sir you helped me a lot love from India ..
Wow. Showed me so much. Thanks!
Knowing the Triads really helps with the Caged shapes too.
Thx for this Ian...very useful.
Wow I got it! Shape and key explained. I can play Am pentatonic using the Em shape. If I move to Bm pent I can use Em shape there etc. damn...thank you.
I start to understand you to a tee. Then I get lost. I think I'm trying to take in to much at one time. Your mind blowing I would love to jam with you. I always played bass for every band I've played out with, but I can't I have to play guitar when I'm playing and singing by myself. It's hard to find open mind musical. I ❤ jam bands... it's a shame we didn't cross paths. At a Dead show or Phish show in the 90s.
Thank you so very much! You have a great way of explaining things!
Thank you!! So helpful!!!
What a wonderful lesson. We owe you big time Ian. Rock on!
Stich .Great lesson . Answers all my questions about positions about where to start a solo. Thx.
No go play and enjoy!
Ian you are incredible. Tremendous lesson. This makes so much sense. Thank you.
Very glad you liked it!
Great lesson
Great lesson, man! I just learned how to connect the modes, and this should accentuate the process. Love the “connecting” of chords, notes, modes!
Thanks from Colorado
Hey Stich.
This is was a quality video and better lesson. I found tab thing easy to follow. I also liked the Root of Chord = Root of Scale. The video was positive and practical. Thanks
outstanding.....such a great way to know your way around the fretboard! kind of a game changer for me.
this lesson was monumental for me. thank you
that clears some questions up
Welcome to StichMethod😉
Love your content! Some of the best/easiest to follow explanations of important concepts. Also I really enjoy the ability to support your channel without getting a subscription or buy an entire course. Low treshold of admission to support content you like and getting really useful charts in return. As much as you need or can afford or find worth it. Big fan of the concept and I hope it works well enough for you to be able to keep doing it this way.
This is it right here.
best explanation of the pentatonic scale ever!!!!
Spread the word
Excellent!!!
Thank you so much dear sir ❤️
Wow is this gold!! Lots of work. 👍👏
So this is what you were looking for?😉
@@StichMethodGuitar 100%, this is thee puzzle piece. Great video!! 👍
Merry Xmas Ian. Keep up the sterling work...!
Merry Xmas and thanks for enjoying!
We spoke on your and Sean's radio spot a while back. I did get my new Fender Strat Elite! Thanks to you!
your strat sure has that great strat sound just your teaching alone is a song of it's self.
Thank you!
This is a silver lining!
Hi Ian,
Thanks so much.
This series and the recent blues series on patreon are a tour de force. So helpful.
I was wondering it in the future you could do companion major lessons. Essentially the Dickie Betts to the Clapton of these lessons.
I'd also be interested in a lesson on how to play fast, repeating licks and how to build up the speed.
Thanks so much
Valuable and practical lesson even after having figured this out myself.
Love you bro. You truly have inspired me to take my playing to the next level. You help me to understand what previously escaped me, especially as it related to theory. I still have a looooooonge ways to go but your presence and instruction has infused me with much needed motivation to push forward. :-)
👍 Good friend 🙂 💫 👍 i take for me to playlist learn electric guitar 🎸 🎶 woww.
Stitch- watching this was a "lightbulb" moment for me. This and "Easily Creating Melody in the Minor Blues". Many thanks. Your easy, laid-back teaching made the content jump for me. I know the 1st and 2nd patterns but didnt quite know why. So now going to learn the 4th and 3rd patterns. That C#m chord tho!!! Motor cycle accident means I never going to get those type chords :-) :-)
Fantastically helpful and well made channel - thanks SO much!
Likin' the new look of your channel Ian!.The pastel colors go well with the art we've been accustomed to in your backdrops.
THIS IS IT! I REPEAT, THIS IS IT!
Thank you
new vid woot woot. thanks man
Hope you enjoy it!!
Thanks!
This flew over my head...
Have you watched lessons 1 - 7?
@@StichMethodGuitar not yet I'm very much a novice so looking around for videos and this was in 'my suggestions'. I will go through.... 1-7
Excellent
thank you for that G shape caged minor voicing I was playing the full voicing for a long time and it's literally a pain to get the fingering right
Well this is phenomenally helpful, a completely fresh way of looking at this (for me), the way I’ve considered the pentatonic shapes and attempted to make utilising them effortless has been stale for a while 😅 thanks a bunch!
Spread the word! Thanks for enjoying
This lesson was a exactly want I needed (at this point in my learning). Great instruction as always thanks
Root on E 1st form pentatonic. Root on[ B ]3rd form moving forward .Root on[ B] 2nd form moving back .root on [ G] 4th form moving back . root on [G] string 5th form moving forward .
major pentatonic same shapes just moved up one position
Thanks, great !
Great to review this thank you so much.I need too apply this much more than I do.Another great lesson please keep them coming.Thank you.God bless
This fulfilled my CAGED knowledge on the chord shapes; I previously looked at the G minor shape as two bars at the bottom without the the b3, but now I know better. Thank you, sir. I have one question, though: how are the modes associated with this system? The CAGED method to me seems purely pentatonic; that is, the chord shapes seem to be derived from pentatonic intervals.
CAGED goes way beyond pentatonic. I’m doing a modes video next week and it might help.
@@StichMethodGuitar Okay, cool! I'm looking forward to checking it out!
Michael D.- Looking forward to Stich's Modes video too! I highly recommend you spend $1.29 and buy the Chord Shape PDF Stich is selling. He also has one available in another lesson for the Major Penta shapes!
The Pentatonic scales come from the major scale. They are just 5 of the 7 notes of the major scale. I've struggled with making sense of CAGED and Pentatonic Boxes and shapes for soo long. Stich has really helped bring it all into focus in my brain. I'd strongly suggest sticking to Stich with regards to these topics. There are too many other teachers out there that make things confusing. Stich isn't giving us opinion, its musical facts. And his style and ability to explain things is a true gift!!
Awesome lesson video - really explained well.. just got to teach my fingers those shifting chord shapes now. Thanks for sharing this!
Watch my CAGED playlist and you will be getting it in no time
Great Lesson, Stich! Thanks so much!
Thank you for adding the graphics
Love that Strat !!
That’s it I’m joining the patreon squad
Great video, i also enjoyed you videos with Sean Daniel on how to jam, they are so funny
This is great! I wish someone had explained this to me years ago.
Saw you got the chart too😉. Thanks man
@@StichMethodGuitar I believe in supporting good work of people like you. This is really the “key to unlocking the fretboard” everyone keeps talking about. You presented it very well. If you haven’t already you should do one just like it for major chords and scales. Same concept right? Just different scales related to the roots?
It’s the previous or next video in my Caged Primer Playlist
Ian, this video helped me connect the dots together in a simple yet well thought out way...subbed!
Awesome to here Curt! Let me know what you think of some other videos. Thanks for enjoying.
Thanks Ian great lesson Dermot from London
Thanks
awsome stuff
