- When Michigan Central celebrates its reopening on Thursday with a sold-out concert, one of the best views in the house will be across the street at a home bought for just $1.
I wish the reported would not say that Detroit is coming back from being a joke. I don't live in Detroit, I live in California and have followed Detroit and everything about Detroit for years now. Detroit is not a joke, it was in very serious financial downfall with corruption from city officials to all the racism and mass of people leaving. Detoit is a rich town in history and it was only a matter of time for it to come back. The gentleman in the article that lives across from Michigan Central is a fine example of some of the people that are coming back and coming back strong. I'll be watching the festivities on Thursday and making plans to come and visit. Detroit will be a beautiful city again, it will take time but it is starting. Way to go Ford for breathing new life into this beautiful building!
Detroit is a prime example.of what happens when racist rich white people say let them lay in it if they want it.the story no news outlet speaks about is the decrease in black.population of detroit and the increase in white
Detroit is graduating back to it's gorgeous new self.
. What that girl said: " Y'ALL FLEW here, i grew here. "
Detroit s Notre Dame. And like Notre Dame is about to be reopened! Hope Detroit is coming back!
Detroit was never a joke. This Canuck from Alberta has followed the cities decline and rebirth closely for years because WDIV is the local NBC affiliate feed given to this part of the nation along with channels from Spokane.. Sorry CBS Dettroit. ;-) It's very nice to see buildings like the Book Tower and Michigan Central station restored to their former Gilded/Jazz age glory! Now I just wish Detroit would add actual rail service to the station again in the form of a streetcar extension, Amtrak being re-routed BACK to this location and perhaps some commuter rail across Southern Michigan using Battery Electric Multiple Units combined with rapid charging at stations. Trains can now comfortably be retrofitted for up to 100-miles of service on batteries ALONE! Look it up!
Hopefully MCS will be used again for its original purpose and trains will be brought back in!
My thoughts exactly! Commuter, Regional, Streetcar all need to service this Grand Dame of a building!
The main track is only like a block away too. It's not like the rails are long gone.
It will be the Headquarters of Ford Motor Company's Corktown Mobility Campus.
Dude has a skate park in the back
Yeah, I want to see more of that, please. Looks like helluva nice ramp!
That’s nice!
When you hit rock bottom the only place you can go is up!
Tiger Stadium was cool, thats about it there....wow
The gentrification/segregation of Detroit continues..
