Evolution คือ ความพยายามของพิเชษฐ กลั่นชื่น Pichet Klunchun ในการหาทางออกให้กับสิ่งที่เรียกว่า “วัฒนธรรม” โดยเฉพาะ “นาฏศิลป์ไทย” ที่หยุดนิ่งมานานหลายร้อยปี เพื่อให้มีชีวิตและเกิดอิสรภาพในโลกร่วมสมัย ผ่านการวิเคราะห์ ถอดรื้อ ร่างที่รุ่มร่ามซึ่งห่อหุ้มธรรมชาติของความรู้สึกและจิตวิญญาณในความเป็นมนุษย์เอาไว้ จึงเกิดและกลายเป็น วิวัฒนาการของศิลปะกลายพันธุ์ โดยเริ่มศึกษาจากผลงานที่ผ่านมาของ Pichet Klunchun Dance Company ผสานกับแนวความคิด ของเทคโนโลยี “Cybernetic”, VR (Virtual Reality) และ AR (Augmented Reality) เพื่อให้ผู้ชมได้มีส่วนร่วมและประสบการณ์ ในการเข้าชมศิลปะการแสดง และผลงานศิลปะ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น จิตรกรรม และ ประติมากรรม สะท้อนการมีอยู่ของความคิดวิวัฒนาการที่ฝังอยู่ในตัวเราในปัจจุบัน และ กำลังจะเปลี่ยนผ่านไปสู่สิ่งที่จะเกิดขึ้นในโลกอนาคต
Evolution is a vision by artist Pichet Klunchun to revive the art of Thai dance-a tradition that has remained stagnant for over hundreds of years-imbuing it with a freedom befitting of our modern times. By stripping away unwieldy excesses and aesthetics, the artist seeks to reveal the emotional and spiritual experience at the heart of the human-centered art form.
Evolution is, as such, a exhibition of mutation. Past performances by the Pichet Klunchun Dance Company have mutated in order to exist in a present-day context with the help of “Cybernetic”, virtual and augmented reality technology. Audiences are invited to view and interact with the pieces, ranging from paintings to sculptures, that reflect upon the various concepts of evolution that exist within each of us-and how these concepts will evolve in future.
