They don't make much salary wise. Most of their income comes in from insider trading and bribes.

Congress needs to put the money back into social security that they took out, which was roughly 1.7 billion dollars

President Bush and Dick Chaney stole money from SS to pay in 2001 for the Iraq war who did not do 911 as we were lied to over and over. They never paid in back just like Congress stealing money from SS. Bush and Chaney got super rich from that war especially the stock they bought in companies that make military equipment . This is the reason why US starts wars around the world- to get rich from their cut, inside trading, knickbacks, etc.

This is sadly true and this is why people need to wake up and realize the government is not for the people. Instead the government forces the people to be for the government… it’s very evident. @cutehumor with most jobs you can opt out of tax withholding. You need to inform payroll that you no longer want them to withhold estimated taxes. Then it's all on you to make sure you pay or not. The only downside is every legal employer in the US must report the earnings of their employees to the IRS, so they will know you owe them.
It's ridiculous since our license renewal, tag renewal, etc are all tied to if our taxes are paid or they will flag it. Then, you can't get anything renewed. We are prisoners in this country.

I am 63yrs old retired too years ago just collecting my pension from the school system. I wanted to wait until at least 66 years old to collect but the way things are looking I am going to start collecting at 64yrs old and start putting it in gold, silver, maybe Bitcoin. They want us to own nothing and be happy that's crazy I remember Michael Jackson said They don't really care about us. I wanted to wait two years before I plan on going to Southeast Asia to enjoy the rest of my retirement. Now I have changed my plans to go within one year.

If you make less than 168,000 dollars then every dollar you earn is subject to social security tax. How is it fair that people earning more than that get to contribute a smaller percentage of their income?

There should have been huge stockpiles in the SSA coffer's back in the 60's, 70's, 80's, etc., as the boomer's were working and paying into the system. Different administration's siphoned money from the stockpile over the decades (if the money was ever actually put into the trust, and not just redirected), and never paid it back, which created what is happening now (I've seen estimates of 3.6 trillion and higher, regarding what should be in the trust's). I was in the workforce 52 years, and so was my sister. Since the SSA uses your top 35 years of earning's to calculate a retirement benefit, both my sister and I, along with our various employers, paid in a total of 34 extra years, and get no return. This government need's to stop giving money to illegal's, proxy war's, and correct the wrong's they've perpetrated against US citizen's, starting with funding the SSA trust's, including all the interest that would have accrued, if they'd kept their mitt's off the money in the first place.
So basically people paying now are just paying for other people’s retirement. Wow.

All politicians must be investigated on how they obtained their millions and all with over 2 million should have to give rest immediately towards the federal deficit, unless had it prior to their first term.
Currently 24% of SSI payments go to title 4D payments. Refunding state and local governments for enforcement of paternity issues. Family court, putting non paying fathers in jail, things like that. I wonder how this will effect those systems that have been built up over 40 years.

you almost certainly would. back of the napkin math, if you put the average salary of 55k and invested 12% (6% you, 6% employer pays) instead of putting it to SS you would have over 500k for retirement.
