And ofcourse to all of you that come here, have fun with us, leave comment subscribe and give thumb up.
In the middle of the 1990s, the Italian designer Pasquale Russo and his team set out to create an ultra-light tourist aircraft with excellent flight characteristics, short take-off and landing capabilities, with a classical proven design, which would be economical in operation, easy to build and maintain. They were inspired by the legendary Piper Cub; but during construction, they used the most modern computer technology and the latest achievements in aerodynamics, top materials and avionics, so they created a perfect machine for the beginning of the 21st century.
The very first type of the Savage line entered production in Italy in 1997/1998; in 1999 the manufacturing was relocated to the Czech Republic. Ever since, it has been continuing with growing success in the Zlin Aviation s.r.o. company, relying on the long tradition of the world-renowned sport aircraft manufacturer and their highly skilled work team.
More than 500 of the Savage aircraft have found their customers all over the world so far; the latest addition to the line is the NORDEN, designed for Rotax® 914, 915 or 916 engines of 115/141/160 HP. The manufacturer offers the installation of a wide range of propellers, avionics and custom modifications in order to fulfil every bush-flyer’s dream of an „adventourist“ aeroplane capable of landing and taking off anywhere and anytime, providing the unsurpassed enjoyment of flight with a virtually unobstructed view as it was with the legendary Cub. And now you can enjoy flying with our 1600mm wingspan semi-scale model of this beautiful aeroplane powered by a brushless motor.
The EPO foam fuselage, thoroughly carbon-reinforced, comes with the KAVAN C3548-8050 brushless motor, 10×6” three-blade propeller and KAVAN R-50SB Plus ESC featuring a powerful switching SBEC stabilizer necessary to feed all 6 servos aboard. The battery compartment (under a removable hatch in the nose) offers a lot of space for your flight pack.
The two-piece EPO wing is reinforced by carbon spars and joined together with a carbon tube joiner. The wing is secured by bolts to the fuselage. The ailerons and flaps (with coupled slats on the leading edge) are controlled by two pairs of servos installed in the wing driven with short wire push rods; there are navigation LED lights installed as well. The easy-to-install composite wing struts are secured with a pair of wire clips.
The empennage is made of the EPO foam. The elevator and rudder servos are installed in the fuselage.
The main undercarriage has aluminium alloy legs with scale spring struts; the steel wire tailwheel is coupled with the rudder.
Norden is powered by the KAVAN C3548-800 brushless motor with the KAVAN R-50SB Plus 50A ESC.
You will need a 14.8V 2600-3300mAh flight pack (at least 30C) to fly your Norden.
You will need at least a 6-channel RC set to control your Norden; even a non-computer radio would work as the aileron, flap, rudder and elevator servos are controlled by a single channel each (linked via the pre-installed connection board). At least a 7-channel computer radio will work best; an independent aileron and flap servo control will help you enjoy your Norden to the fullest. Fortunately, even entry-level/budget-friendly radios like Radiolink AT9S or AT10II, Futaba T6K or T10J feature all the necessary mixes today. In this case, you will have to connect the aileron and flap servos directly (you can use our optional bypass cable set). The instruction manual contains a thoroughly tested set-up table in order to help you set up the Norden easily even if it is your first “full house” control aeroplane.
ARTF set contents: Complete EPO fuselage, wings and empennage with pre-installed motor, propeller, ESC, 6 servos and LED navigation lights, instruction manual.

I was surprised too. I think most every plane I've flown would have recovered and he plenty of height too. I wondered if an elevator servo froze? I lost a plane the other day.... flat spin and as I came out the servo locked up and I couldn't get it level a second time.
The servo was frozen after the crash too. Bush mule. I'm extra leery of models with cheaper now servos

Your face as you turned around to face the camera was priceless. That was a magnificent spin. As my jet flying buddy would say, after he crashed his FW 80mm F-14 (and other assorted jets), 'Its just money" It's worse, much worse when you spent several months building a kit, only to loose it in the maiden.

A wolf in sheep's clothing? A surprisingly shocking experience! Hey, the model looks extremely boring, I would have thought that it could be moved into stall as easily as a "Spitfire" - I don't, I'm really amazed. Well, now it has to be glued first, but my interest has now been piqued because it seems to be unstable enough to have aerobatic fun with it. The first impression can be deceptive and, especially as an experienced pilot, you don't really expect it with such a good design and become careless. Now we have been grounded again, it is a reminder to all of us. Thanks for this video and best regards from Germany.

After this crash you should be promoted to majors from captains. The popularity of this channel is due to the fact that you are not ashame to show to the truth to the whole world. Even experienced pilots can crash. You are not never try to hide it. However, Petrincic Bros, for your youtube viewers you are perfect no matter the result of the flights.
It looks like you suffered a connection problem and it was NOT a pilot error. we could see that once the plane climbed up the sound of the motor suddenly stoped probably because of a break in the link between the controller and the plane receiver. A second after the plane turned and moved down the motor sound returned (the connection between the controller and the receiver re-established) but it iwas too late to fix the deep death spiral.

Sorry it stalled, I feel your pain. I love the way you show all the ups and downs (!) of RC flying. The only way to never crash is to never fly. 3:48: Just for clarification, split flaps are where the flaps are on the lower wing only, so looking at the top of the wing the flaps can't be seen whether raised or lowered. An example is the Spitfire. The Corsair does not have split flaps. Lots of flaps yes but not split.

It went into a spin. One side of wing is stalled.
Recovering from a spin typically requires opposite rudder and NO aileron (so avoid rudder/aileron mixing).
Recovery requires practice until its instinctive.
    Sorry for your loss.

Really too bad that happened on the maiden as it was flying well. Many of these high wing planes which all look similar unfortunately are not very aerobatic. If you compare the Carbon Z Cub or Super Timber to the Norden they look similar and are similar in size yet the Carbon Z and Super Timber are much more capable aerobatically likely due to design factors such power to weight ratio, prop size, wing design, etc. While unrecoverable spins happen in full scale aircraft regularly, you don't see it very often with rc planes. It does make me wonder a bit if it was pilot error or is actually some design flaw with the model. Especially given pilot Robert's high level of experience!

Hey Robert, i think the cause of the spin is there was no washout on the wingtips! Bet there was a little wash in in there. Should have about 3° washout. Then there shouldn't be any more spins 🤗

So sorry for you.😢 Strange crash. Are you sure you didn't lost Tx signal or elevator servo? Normally with this kind of plane, releasing stick of wings and pull elevator is enough for stopping spiral.
First time I see a crash with the Norden. Other pilots succeeded with aerobatic flights.
Reason why I suppose it is a mechanic issue or electronic one. Keep us update once your final analysis will be ready

Although it' s a bit sad what has happend still I feel that is really valuble information or lessons learned that even with STOL plane which is basically designed to be factory for lift on wings you can get into such situation which leads to loss of control and unavoidable crash (due to low altitude). But again nothing can stop you guys!

I built a balsa plane with a .46 OS glow engine with a double tapered symmetrical wing years ago and if I did a loop that was too tight it would drop a wing and free fall about twenty feet before I could correct it. It happened to me 2 times before I learned to make the loops with a larger diameter. I was thinking that those front wing slats could have done something that could have caused the stall.
