Sony was way ahead of its time,sadly the lacked marketing brain. My 2013 xperia z1 had background defocus i.e modern potrait mode 3 years earlier than other brands,also had niche functions.
Yah bro even we had xperia T from 2012 and its camera quality and battery backup was too goo. Used the phone till 2018 and at that time it gave backup of 1day with normal usage but unfortunately its has been stolen

Indian market is pretty trash. The moment you go above 40k everyone only wants refurbished iphone 11/12 instead of opting for premium mid range androids. A cheap Sony phone will be around 40k-50k but everyone will only buy stone age iphones just for the logo..

I had a Xperia Z5 that I used from late 2015-2017, then I moved on to LG V30+ for 4 years and got an Xperia 1 III late 2021. Both the older phones are still working and have no problems except a slightly broken screen. In my experience Sony phones last longer than any other phones I have used since 2008, including Nokia.
I used Xperia Mini pro and Xperia M , both were awesome phones at that time and was really good ... Wish Sony make such phones again ... Somewhat affordable ones hopefully soon ...
I feel like sony is not doing this to mainly sell phones, if that was the case then they would have taken a more general approach in developing the phone rather than targeting a niche user base. I feel like sony is just trying to show off its impressive camera tech through these smartphones.
Sony uses Ldac sound format and carl zasis camera which is also used by other flagship, it is primium more than Apple exo system but no one knows..music with xm5 headphones is Awsome I use one
I think its late for Sony but if they want to bounce back then atleast from UI side they should opt for Stock android like Moto and Nokia and hardware should be Snapdragon then there will be tough challenge from Japanese brand to other mobile brand in India
Sony definitely has the cash and the engineering expertise to make a comeback but competition is so stiff that they really need to find a suitable place in the market.
If Sony brings a 20000 rs smartphone with decent specs & their awesome simple design both harware & software, they can still smash Indian & overseas markets.
I stil have my xperia charger adaptor with me... Changed the cable multiple times but the Sony charging adaptor refuses to die .. 📱♥️... If Sony comes up with a phone with a price range of 20-25k I'll definitely buy it .. I want them to comeback
Unnecessary specifications like 4k screen on its flagship makes it useless in markets like India. No doubt the design is amazing with headphone jack and 5000 battery
The major problem with Sony is after sales..when they were selling experia here..their after sales service was horrible..almost didn't exist.. that's why they failed badly..they need to concentrate on services along with design and tech
If Sony, blackberry, Nokia brings good phones mid range phones in India. I will surely the one of their buyer over other existing phones in indian market

if they can fix it and launch their mid ranges with good old sony quality. it'll be great.
Sony still makes some mid range phones as well but those are mostly available only in Japan for example sony xperia 10 series
I still use an old Sony Xperia XZ3 and believe me it still works smooth and flawlessly.
