So I did exact same thing longest part for me was letting the red clay sit and get very dusty dry in the sun then I made a gigantic roll sifter to only spreed the finest dust fines clay down until I had it built up a good 3 feet it's super smooth the track it doesn't ever rut up and it packs down nice and hard and scale like so these tiny cars don't get full of wet clay and they run smooth and don't bounce everywhere I built scale wall and fence I just cut some chicken wire to the height I wanted and bet the top in the I took some small led lights 3d printed scale looking stadium type housing for them to go in so when mounted on posts around track they look real and they light up the track likes it's day light it's so bright which is nice cuse we have to race at night down here gets way to hot in summer and during winter on weekends where it's 75 and sunny we race during the day it's a blast it's a true half mile in 1/18 scale high banked it's a blast your track looked just like mine except my surface is bright red and used cotton under the tracks dirt so it holds moisture all night
