    I use only 256gb Sandisk Extreme for this camera as it consumes space at double the rate of the Hero 7. If you are like me, I try to never turn the camera off when I’m out as you can guarantee that’s when something will happen and you’ll miss it. You will require 2 x 256gb cards for a full days riding if you’re on tour.

    I ride a 2016 Explorer XRT and with the low seat it’s 820mm height. Love the bike, but if I need to replace it the new version is just too tall. I know there is a low version but you lose the convenience of the center stand. My bike has been 100% reliable and I tour on her annually. At 73 I still love to ride, but I would love a 900 GT with a belt or shaft drive. All the best!

    Love the bike and your take on it brilliant work again. The bikes people ride will always be personal choice. Doesn’t stop you admiring other makes and people’s choices. Stay safe and keep up the good work. On an other note I’m 135 days dry.

      Thanks Martin, I ride bikes as a neutral. It doesn’t matter what bike I have in my garage, I’m never really satisfied and I’m always looking for the next one. Therefore, it’s a test ride with a serious view to whether I really want it. I’d definitely have a GT Pro…… for a while! 😉😂👍 well done with the abstinence. Do you feel better for it?

    A short bit of background. I’m in my late 60s and haven’t ridden for 42 years! The 70s were my era. I still have my Ducati 750 Sport that I purchased in 1974. I’ve beat myself up over the years and now have a few replacement parts I need to respect. From mountain biking and skiing I backed of a bit and picked up a 2022 Tiger 900 GT Pro. I live in an Idaho ski town with limited pavement but I still love the pavement so didn’t go for the Rally. I’m your size and that was a factor as well. I have Dunlop Trail Max Missions and spend more than half my time on gravel. Riding like a civilized old man. I get on this bike and it’s like a magic carpet! I can flat foot and pass like a demon. Those big bikes are for big young punks and they’ll have an absolute hoot on them.

      Couldn’t agree more Bob. I met a guy yesterday who was 6’7” and we were talking about bikes. I said that I’d finally met the person Triumph had in mind when they designed those huge horses! 🤔👍

    Great review, Jack, seriously considering the GT Pro, after riding the Rally Pro- which I can flat foot even with the seat in high pos. The Rally was great fun, but still feel a little intimidated by it, as it's tall and heavy compared to my Tiger 800. Feels really nimble, but wrong-foot it and it's going over, especially if you're of 'racing snake' build like I am 😞 My only dislike of the Rally Pro is the screen, it's crap, lots of wind buffeting in high or low position. Anyway, keep 'em coming! PS Pidcock, not Pidcocks, no bloody 's' at the end! ;-)

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  4 місяці тому +1

      It’s a great bike. I’m sure you’d get used to the weight if you owned one. Not as top heavy as the previous Tiger 1050 Sport which is a plus. You would get used to the power too I’m sure.
      If you’re considering one but you don’t like the screen, have a look on the forums to see what owners are doing about that issue. Also check eBay to see if there are any aftermarket options.
      Don’t forget to mention me at PidcockS if you buy one from there 😉👍😂

    The proof in the pudding is long term ownership and that's bring 'dealers' into question which is where - in my experience owning a 2012 Explorer - Triumph have struggled vs. BMW. The service I've had from Motorrad has outclassed Triumph although at ABR last year, when test riding the best of the bunch (1290 SA-S, V2 and V4 MS and the Triumph) I was very impressed with the Tiger 1200 and that was the Explorer version, so keep up the good work Hinckley!!

    Another cracking video jack. I have the Rally Explorer, and i run the seat on the high setting!! I am 6'5" however. It is a very tall bike. I had GS's for over 10 years, and its the m/cycle journalists who keep calling out the lastest GS killer. Ridiculous! They are all great bikes. That GT pro does suit you though mate. And how is your collar after having it felt, Ha Ha. Thank you

    I think they could have done better from the previous model but I’m impressed they are not scared of the competition. I lowered my 2015 a few inches (not the best thing to do) but it is the bike I have always needed. If ethereum comes through like it should next year I’ll probably switch to the GS to be honest. I also added a Corbin, best thing I’ve ever done to any bike.

    Great review of what is largely a great bike. I had a Triumph Rally Explorer as a courtesy bike last year while my 2014 Triumph Explorer XC was in with my local Triumph dealer, have to say that with the seat in the highest position its absolutely perfect for me but then I am 6'5, loved the riding position on it, didnt want to give it back. Although i wasn't keen on the T-plane crank, prefer the engine in my bike and the screen need to be at least 6 inches higher and a bit wider, I did have a lot of buffeting on it. Also I despise keyless bikes and cars, give me a normal key that stays in the ignition where it wont fall out of pockets.

    • @motomogul
      @motomogul  Рік тому +1

      I met a guy last week through my work who was 6’5”, and said to him that I’ve now met the guy that bike was designed for.
      Don’t you think the T-plane sound would grow on you? It does have a fabulous growl. I can see it’s not for everyone but it does make the engine response more immediate too.
      With regards to the screen, all manufacturers put a shorter screen on their most off-road biased machines to prevent you getting hit in the face or neck when you hit a compression that throws the screen towards you and you towards it. But I agree, really annoying at all other times.
      Thanks for taking the time to comment Gavin, much appreciated 👍

    • @EmeraldExplorer1200
      @EmeraldExplorer1200 Рік тому

      @@motomogul yeah, I probably would get used to the engine eventually, it did respond quickly and seemed to pull like a train but I do prefer the smoother more balanced old engine, under hard acceleration the T-plane engine almost felt it had a misfire but cruising it was ok.
      As for the screen, it's not really a problem, there are plenty of places that you could get a bigger touring type screen from so I could easily sort out the buffeting.
      If I had a spare £20k sitting around, would I buy one?....... yeah i probably, it is a cracking bike overall.

    The title of your vid says GS killer (which you dealt with in the video i.e. daft label put about by journo’s). Am I write in thinking the “Mixed Emotions” part of the title relates solely to the height of the off road version and possibly this one albeit to a lesser extent? The rest of the bike for British potholed roads checks out perfectly - fair interpretation?
    I’m seriously considering this very version, I’m 6’ but my inside leg same as yours 31 inches lol, so it’s not only short arses that suffer this length in leg problem (although my feet are size 12) which probably helps ha.
    Can I also ask if you thought it suffered from vibration issues how did you find it?
    Great review - enjoyed it👍

      Yes, a very fair interpretation Andrew. The Mixed Emotions statement was just a bit of fun. I was putting Rolling Stones song titles on the thumbnails and waiting to see who’d be the first to notice. In a roundabout way, you are the winner 🏆 Sorry for any confusion. It’s a great bike 👍
