Alabama is and has been a legendary program for decades!
Between Gene Stallings and Nick Saban Alabama was an also ran.
Roll Tide is World Wide...Whenever Bama loses the whole world celebrates
Yes, in the past. Now, not so much. And it wasn’t so much when Bama lost as it was when Saban lost. People won’t care nearly as much about Bama now that Saban is not the “official” head coach.
@@mr.p3806 They’re still going to be competitive, so people are still going to care. If you’ve seen how they’ve been able to recruit then you’d know nothing’s really changed.
@@chriswilliams6896 What I'm saying, is that, Saban is done. The new HC and staff won't get the same respect that a Saban led team would have. They have to build their own reputation. Now, as far the reputation of Alabama as a whole, that is still intact, until they either sustain or, destroy it. But Debor or however you spell it, has to create his own reputation. Recruiting is rolling but based off the brand, not off of proof of success under Debor. So, yes, things have changed. And only time will provide the answer.
@@mr.p3806 What are the factors of a program that pretty much guarantee a very successful & respected program? Alabama has them all. Still. Nobody questioned DeBoer’s ability to coach a few months ago. It was his recruiting. Now, all of a sudden, people are saying he has to prove himself as a coach. Dude was just in the title game for crying out loud. It took him only two years to take a 4-8 program to a national title game. Changing goal posts on the man.
Don't care if Alabama ever win a single game again but honestly really never liked them anyway see you all the 3rd Saturday in October GBO....P.S.honestly nobody will ever be able to like Alabama was not with N.I.L. it brought everything into the light that was always swept under the crimson rug in the past
The takeaway here, Kirby ain't Saban and UGA ain't Alabama. If you want Bama recognition do Bama things over the lifetime of your program. Saban is the GOAT but it didn't start with him. Young people who think you know, look up Gene Stallings, Bear Bryant, Frank Thomas and Wallace Wade. And if you want to say Bama inflates their numbers as far as national championships, fine. Look at just the unanimous ones. Or just the SEC Titles, no subjectivity in either of those. No one else is close. There is a reason Bama is hated, it's envy and frustration because every other team, alumnus or fan knows their program can't achieve what Bama has. Maybe they can over a short period but the Tide always rises, just as it did after low tide years of 1997-2007. RTR!
Ask Reggie Jackson about his conversation with Bear Bryant
Saban is legit ..but yall need a fkn history lesson..lol..bleacher report has 12 mythical championships that every roll turd should read..if they can.. claim all you want..lol
@@tbobmann229 lol Jealously is unbecoming. Bama has 18 NCs. UGA has 3 with unearned delusions of grandeur. RTR!
@@tuckthefide74 What are you even talking about? You know how many white southerners openly used the N word in the 60s? Of course it's inappropriate then and by today's standard - but it has zero impact on Bama's legacy of success. Bryant also played a key role in integrating black players in the south. Listen, here is some free advice. People with your mindset will never succeed at the level Alabama does if your main focus is on hating. Work on improving yourself. I assure you, whoever your team is? We don't even thing of them, much less create an actual identity on hating them like you have with your cringe username @tuckthefide74 lol
@@tbobmann229 As I mentioned in my comment above.....if you want to say Bama inflates their numbers as far as national championships, fine. Look at just the unanimous ones. Or just the SEC Titles, no subjectivity in either of those.
Basically, to sum this all up Georgia fans…… you’re not BAMA.
They're well aware.
Is that why they had the longest SEC win streak in history? I’ll admit Nick Saban was Kirby’s Kriptonite but the old man ain’t there to save y’all no more ain’t nobody scared of Mike Shula 2.0 over there.
@@conleycopeland1808 Alright Conley COPEland…
@@conleycopeland1808 I don’t think Mike Shula ever found himself within the top 15-20 in recruiting. Much less the 2nd best class in the country with 3-4 other 5 stars predicted to him. He also didn’t take a team of 3 and 4 stars to a national title game beating elite teams along the way in his second year of P5 coaching after taking over a 4-8 program.
Thank you❤

@@Steve-rc5is Saban wouldnt have been half the coach had he not had Smart as his DC for those many years.
Georgia is on path to becoming a dynasty, but they have to win another one either this year or next year first.
@@dare2554 This "UGA fan only" statement is simply not correct. Anybody with half a brain knows that the Bama defensive scheme and execution under Coach Saban was entirely his defense. It was ran exactly how he wanted to run it regardless of who the DC was. The last DC under Coach Saban, Kevin Steele said that exact same thing to the press last season. If you ask Smart I am sure he will say the same thing. That is beyond questioning from anyone who knows Nick Saban. Saban was totally in charge of the Bama defense as he was with the entire team.
Saban won his first NC at LSU without Smart. Saban won two NCs at Bama after Smart left for UGA. By the way the same amount of NCs that Smart has won at UGA. Not to mention Saban beat Smart in the SEC Championship game the last time Bama and UGA played. If your premise was correct them Kirby Smart would not have been 1 win and 5 loses at UGA when he played Saban and Bama.
Why
I'm a Tennessee fan but I do agree with one of the comments here. Bama was already a huge brand when Saban took over. Everyone knows about Bear Bryant and Bama. They had been down bad for a long time but they were still a huge brand. Georgia, not so much. Also, Kirby wasn't nearly as visible when he took over Georgia as Saban was when he took over Bama.
No we wasn’t stop it we haven’t won a title over 20 years at that time why u lying
Bama fans hate when you bring up the fact that saban took over a blue blood for some reason. Yes they were in a rough patch but they clearly still had the winning history and tradition that 99% of schools did not
@@samm3639 who’s your team is?? Bc Bama we good over here

@@hitwonder101 lol you Bama fans better hope y’all are even a fraction as good as y’all were with Nick Saban. I would keep my mouth shut until then 😂😂
Let me tell you why this comment sounds so disingenuous to Bama fans.
UGA football has gone about a decades long project of trying to replicate everything that made our program successful during the Saban era - stealing coaches, staff, scheme, program structure, recruiting strategy - everything. All the evidence suggests that UGA has been trying to become Bama for years. And the real reason they are constantly favored and given the benefit of the doubt in the offseason is because they look like a Saban-Era Bama photocopy. There’s nothing unique about it.
For years now, we’ve watched y’all talk about “replacing Bama”. “The process”, becoming the “standard”, avoiding “rat poision” etc. This is all Saban era Bama terminology that indicates to us that yall have been paying attention and mimicking. Hell the UGA guy that asked the question in Pate’s video was mad that UGA isn’t getting covered the same way Bama was. Why do you think that is? Because y’all want to be us so damn bad and it’s obvious to everyone outside of Athens.
At the end of the day though, we know that all you’ve really done is create a “Great Value” version of the real thing. Unfortunately for you all, real can’t be replicated. The new Bama is just going to have to beat the past version of itself.
Speaking for most if not all UGA fans: we do not want to be Bama. We don't think we are, we're not trying to be. 40 years between championships trust me we're humble as hell. If anyone is comparing us to Bama, it ain't us.
I WISH ALL UGA FANS WERE LIKE YOU. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
You got my thumbs up for that one for sure. No reason to not be happy with where UGA is right now. Some folks just like to project and pot stir…

Facts! I’m tired of getting hit with the “y’all aren’t Bama!!!!” line. Never claimed to be, never wanted to be. I just want Georgia to be great and be ourselves! Some of us admittedly did get too big for our britches though. So I understand the backlash we get as Georgia fans.

Alabama won 6 national championships since 2009....all won by Coach Saban...people hated it because the state of Alabama was enjoying success and they didn't like Coach Saban's intensity......every time he screamed at players or coaches on the sideline, it was a story.........every time Alabama lost, it made national news. The same thing happened to Coach Bryant and Steely Dan wrote "Deacon Blues" because of it. So, this is nothing new.
You THINK it’s because Kirby is 1-5 against BAMA and Saban? 😂😂😂. And even you noted UGA weak schedule 2 years.
I think UGA doing it with the same approach as Bama plays into it as well. Kirby is pretty much Saban 2.0. I'm taking nothing away from UGA. As a Bama fan I think UGA is the program to beat right now. But it's pretty much recruit your ass off, play great defense and win that way. Not that Bama and UGA haven't had good offenses during the runs, but recruiting lights out and winning with defense is the philosophy for both programs.
Win a couple championships and now everybody think we want to be Bama. And gotta disagree with you on UGA not being hated... it seems like we're the most hated because every fan base always has so much to say about UGA. The majority of our fans are humble and just enjoying the recent success but they still want us to think we're Bama so bad😂
Also, let’s be honest, everything you see happening at Georgia is happening all because of Nick Saban. Look at all the UGA coaches that left Alabama for Georgia. Secondly, I don’t think Georgia would have either of their national titles if they played in the sec west.
Georgia has it the easiest of any power school.
-4th best state for recruiting, yet no legitimate in-state competition.
-Plays in the easy SEC east.
Alabama is truly the largest brand of all time. It was truly unreal to watch dominance like that, and I also remind you they did it when everyone was good! Florida and urban. Les miles and lsu. Mark richt and Georgia. It was unreal what saban did and he dominated. I like Kirby, but Georgia is just not even close and not even capable of doing what Bama did. Alabama truly runs cfb
Basically to earn any national respect, Georgia needs to win approximately 6-7 of the next 10 natties? Got it. Bc if any other team came off winning back-to-back, they would be unanimously picked to win their conference, Georgia wasn’t (look at ESPN for proof). And that’s where the “doubters” narrative came from Kirby.
Georgia not being talked about because there is no reason to be talking about them. When y'all have a decade and a half of dominance and still at the top then you will be talked about. Yes pup fans you finally beat bama and went back to back but you got to put some years together of doing things like that before you are even considered
I think you get that with all the dominance that they showed for a prolonged period of time

Kirby Smart is the best coach we have ever had and am truly grateful, but no one did it like Saban.
Dude we didn’t win because of injuries! INJURIES happen in football. Most ppl that really know football know we probably missed out on a 3peat because we didn’t have a healthy Bowers or Ladd. But that’s no excuse. Depth and overcoming adversity is the recipe. Go Dawgs

Because uga isn't Bama and never will be.
It’s waayyyyyy too early. But the dawgs are on the way. One more chip and it’s officially a dynasty. Based on these comments some of yall are little nervous.
That’s all it is.
Saban took over a 6-7 team and made it a dominator in two seasons and kept it there. Kirby took over a team that had been a 10+ win/season team from a successful coach and stayed at that level.
Saban challenged the press eloquently about team matters and matters about the whole sport...then was proven correct. Kirby so far has kept to his lane in remarks to the press.
Saban challenged/criticized the NCAA about how the game was changing; then changed how he coached and still won championships. Kirby is still winning championships the way he one the first one.
Saban won champioships with a revolving door on quarterbacks, coaches, coordinators, ADs and Strength and Conditioning Coaches. Kirby is doing that, but it hasn't been as obvious.
Saban dealt with disciplining his players with a tough love that often meant keeping them on the team while they straightened up. Kirby is often described as mean and holding a grudge by former players.
How many teams fans had we want bama signs, "in any ncaa level"???
Let’s also be real. Saban came to a very bad Bama team and built them up from ground zero and built them to be the dynasty they have been. On the other hand, Kirby learned from the goat and then became a HC and an already good Georgia team. He hasn’t had to go through the struggles Saban has. Georgia is a very good team and Kirby is a great coach but Kirby will never become what Saban has. Georgia fans for some reason can’t understand that truly

Part of this is UGA’s comparably easy schedule and luck. During their 29 game streak, there were only 3 losable games. Bama (without Jamo and Metchie), Tennessee, and OSU (without Harrison for a quarter and Smith-Njigba the entire game). It’s really not that impressive. Pete Carroll’s USC, Urban’s Florida and OSU, Dabo’s Clemson, Chip Kelly’s Oregon, and of course Saban all could’ve easily won these 29 games under the injury conditions.
Did you not see the graphics of who was beaten during this run. Michigan, Oregon, Bama, OSU, LSU, #1 Tennessee, multiple top 10 ranked, back to back titles including the biggest ever bowl win margin until we broke it again last year. Please keep comments like this to yourself LMAO.
😭😭😭
Yeah there was a 5 year period at the beginning of Alabamas dynasty where the winner of the iron bowl played in the national championship game. 5 years straight. LSU competed for titles. The west was strong. Since Kirby has been there the best the east produced was probably Covid year Florida who finished with 3 losses
UGA has beat 17 ranked teams the past 3 seasons with 7 of them being ranked in the top 5. I guess I forgot only UGA's opponents have injury issues. Our strength and conditioning staff must just be the best to ever live.
2022 oregon and 2021 michigan are a joke buddy. Esp oregon with the BRAND NEW STAFF!! Ofc you won 49-3 any good team would. Yall will lose to Bama on the road this year, unless ofc you can knock out one of their receivers again
Kirby just needs the backing of the SEC HQ and it’s a wrap 😈
Bama is so screwed for the next 50 years lololololol. Enjoy not winning anything for a few generations, cousins. GO DAWGS
In addition to Josh’s comments, Bama set the standard and created the mold. Kirby has modeled UGa after Bama and created a “me too” type of program, copying Saban’s program from A-Z. Everybody is danika’s with the first US Prez George Washington. Without searching, can you name the second US Prez? ….I rest my case.
It comes down to winning. College football’s cycles of powerhouses or “runs,”
happen periodically. Georgia is beginning theirs. Unfortunately most fans are clueless about college football history or the players involved. Champions are still and will be be settled by a group. If it’s not big eastern papers in the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s or major bowls of 50’s, 60’s 70’s, BCS etc. As to the powerhouses it’s Georgia now until further notice. As to Alabama, doubt they’ll win anything during the next 40 yrs.
Saban and Alabama backed it up. Kirby and Georgia didn’t. Alabama ended Georgia’s dynasty before it could even begin 😂
Kirby never surpassed Saban, but Georgia was number 2 in wins in NCAA since 2018 and then surpassed Saban in wins since 2020. Now Saban quit before he could rack up a bunch of playoff wins. Meanwhile Kirby will collect playoff wins in the dozens depending on how much longer he coaches. Reality is Georgia could become the face of college football (and it is theirs to lose). What we are going to see very soon is sore Alabama fans realizing the gravy train is over, at least until they can get another savant coach.
As a UGA fan, I blame the University of GA. I'm old enough to remember conversations from coaches like Goff, Donnan, and others inside the organization, plus ppl I've meet through the years at UGA with better connections than me about how the UGA "powers" were not as serious about football as other schools. In short, UGA was more interested in becoming the "Harvard" of the south rather than a football power! UGA football was crippled for a long time. Towards the end of the Richt era certain boosters finally got a crack in the UGA armor they needed to influence changes within the organization. You are seeing the product of that change now! Forget about what UGA was!!! Look at what they are now! Because some of the ppl that fought the changes have seen the benefits and now fully embrace the change. Forget about the past, this a different machine now! And you see what UGA should've always been and it's just warming up! Everything a program needs to be a powerhouse is right here in GA.....the Heart of the South. GA is not a "fly over" state like Bama, it's the central hub of the south! But, think Mark Richt for this, it was he who died on the hill fighting. The same hill Kirby got to START from!
If Georgia comes into Austin and whips 'em this year, then I'll start believing Georgia is the Alabama of old. Anyone pretending that the later years of Alabama is their best football is just kidding themselves. Earlier Bama teams would've demolished Texas and Georgia anywhere...
Georgia just started taking their football program seriously in 2016. We lived off talent of the kids in this great state and had some really good players. Kirby made the university and the state go ALL IN ON FOOTBALL. That was not the case prior to Kirby and we all know it. Kirby took Georgia to an entirely new level. Alabama college football has been bigger than religion since bear Bryant. I used to hate Bama that was until I really started paying attention to Saban and their football program and once I did that it was nothing but respect. Can’t wait to play them this year. Win or lose Bama is my favorite team to play because I know the Dawgs are playing the very best. Go Dawgs!
Finebaum has bro love for Kirby. We will find out week 4. Roll Tide!
I just watched a panel talk about how the media is covering Georgia too much.
Let’s be honest, Saban and Bama had a 16 year run of success. UGA is on a 4 year heater. Dawg fans need to get TF over themselves. You were choke artist average at best for a very long time. Saban’s run will never be repeated by anyone, especially with NIL and the portal in play now.
As a lifelong Dawg fan, I respect the legacy of Bama and Saban. However, I'm more interested in the upcoming season than dwelling on past ones. It's worth noting that when Saban arrived at Bama, he already had head coaching experience. Kirby, on the other hand, is achieving great things while learning on the job. Additionally, from a media perspective, there is a lot more coverage now than there was in the 2000s, resulting in the coverage being spread across thousands of platforms which dilutes the coverage perception.
It doesn't matter what the media thinks about the coaches except for influencing people's minds. It matters what the recruits think about the coach. Id say Kirby is head above everyone. Then OSU. Bama is starting over. They lose a couple and it could be a decade of firing coaches cause you can't keep recruits
Hahaha yeah.. why would you cover the “passing of the torch” when the torch remained in Tuscaloosa the entire time? Kirby won once. It was cute, but 1-5 is the stat. Nothing more to say.
Kirby is a great coach, but will never be as good at Saban. UGA fans don't want their team to be compared to Bama, and they shouldn't. Bama has and will have the longest dynasty for a long time. I think Georgia will stay elite while they have Kirby, but they won't ever have a dynasty like Saban and Bama did.
Bama is a brand, name with all the Nattys and Tradition that Georgia will never be, very simple ... woof woof 😂😂😂
Now do a Video on Bear Bryant’s racism! Ask Reggie Jackson!! Ga is in a better spot than Ala right now. The state of Ga puts out way more talent than Ala . Ga is the better program right now
I think i can simplify this. Bama is the Yankees. Plenty of championships plenty of notable playsers and coaches. Doesn't win it all every year but always there and a huge brand. Georgia is the red Sox. Still great coaches and players. But went ages without a championship and just not held in the same light. Yeah they beat from time to time and they've nabbed a few championships but it's not the same
The UGA program doesn't have as many titles as Alabama but Kirby did surpass Saban in a couple categories like consecutive wins and consecutive undefeated seasons. In the last three years UGA's record is way better than Alabama's. Two nattys and an sec crown as opposed to Alabama's two sec titles and zero nattys.
People hated Alabama because they played thug ball and it felt like every game they had the refs in their pocket. Their play vs Texas in Texas was thug ball on display. There is a video where Sabin is telling his players to "cut that shit out" because they started doing the horns down sign to the Texas players which is ironic because that was one of the Alabama games that the refs gave them.
With all that, Saban is admired for his accomplishments. Kirby is on track to surpass his record.
I think I speak for most UGA fans when I say we don’t wanna be bama. We just want to be UGA. & tbh I guess it’s working cause we’re here lol
I don’t think this is unique to Georgia either. Dabo and Clemson absolutely cooked for a five year period and they were never close to bamas recognition. The bama love reaches far and wide.
Best I remember Alabama ended that run last year. That's why they not own a real run. Never just on a short run Bama's still on the run, just new coach.❤❤😂😂
