The most convincing and beautiful interpretation I’ve found so far. And I just love how clearly the basses are presented and articulated and build a rock solid foundation to these tricky harmonies. Very, very good how they master the chromatics and keep the intonation throughout AND are vocally just gorgeous. All other voices are brilliant, too - of course!, but their lines are so much easier than that of the basses. Well done, gents!!

I kind of like Romano's rendition here with the Ensemble Aedes better than the John Rutgers recording. The build-up is more intense, and the soprano's shine thru on this one.

...makes one wonder if the conductor was a bass, himself. The bass sound here has the sound of an orchestra's string double bass.

I’m an atheist but i can listen to this for hours. Beautiful piece and great interpretation. Watery eyes almost every time I listen to it.
