Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

@@MillennialFarmer it isn't showing on Spotify
@@jamesbainton it should get there. For some reason spotify is taking longer to approve it
Checkins with randy is honestly one of the best touches you’ve put on the channel in a while
The song before check-ins with randy 😂😂😂😂
My Masterpiece!!
Topping the charts, the new single from Millennial Farmer.
Must add more Norwegian/Swedish Minnesotan accent, eh?
Randy is definitely a "Sven." Think you need to record Randy saying "eh its Randy the Minnesoooota Master Pipe Layer" Could be a new intro option. 😂
@@CGW116A oh you betchaaa
The "check-ins with Randy" intro song 12:23 had my wife asking what the hell was I watching.
I worked super hard on that!!!
Me too. She said "are you listen to kid song?"
We have always used either old conveyor belts from a local quarry or rubber horse stall mats as dividers on our head. Just cut them out with a razor blade and bolt them on quick and cheap. Usually last a couple seasons
May the green be with you GO John Deere :) I'm a green blood myself for a long time
Your videos are so addictive. You can solve The Problems of the world just by Watching MN Millennial Farmer and your Awsome support. Thank you Mrs Millennial Farmer, RTMPL, and Lets not Forget Dad.

I had no idea this is how people Farm, All I had was a harness and a mule. Wow you guys are amazing! You probably won't believe this but we did not use chemicals and engineered seeds, can you believe it we did not get government subsidies or bank loans. Anyhow you are an amazing farmer. Thanks for sharing.
Easy way to know which hydraulic hose goes where. With the hoses hooked up correctly, take a file and file some small notches on one hose connector. Of course don't file any metal that goes into the connector! My connectors on my tractor are vertical. So the noticed hose always goes on top. Always hooked up correctly.
Put zip ties on the hydraulic hoses to mark them. 1 zip tie = lever #1, 2 zip ties = lever #2 and so on. Put a black tie on the left hose and a white one on the right hose. Easy to remember that white is always on the right.
Put colored zip ties on each side of your quick disconnects so you always know where they go
That's how we do it as well. We put zip ties on the right, and it's the color of the scv (JD new style). If you don't have the different color scv covers (JD older style or other brands) we put the number of zip ties for the corresponding scv number. Makes future hook-up faster.
If you mark your hydraulic hoses in pairs, save the red tape to add to the hose you put on the right side of the outlet on the tractor. Use other colors to keep them in pairs, RED RIGHT. I did that years ago and save a lot of guessing or re-connecting.
I'm not a farmer but in my early years I worked for a man who raised 300 head of cattle for market. I started working for him at the age of 10 and worked for him until I was 20. I really do miss working on a farm.
The talking goat! "Ouch you f$%king whizzed that thing! That thing is pointy fellas"
You button hooked me!
I mark the left hose tips for the cart by marking wrench area with a grinder when I buy. the gate hose tip with a line with the hose two lines for the second. the auger, a line across the tip. and the spout with a cross on the left tip. It is simpler to do it than explain.
Randy’s a petty smart guy using a MacDon flex Draper.
Randys got my vote
Red is for pickups!! Agreed
Adam Sandler's The Talking Goat is awesome! Kicking it old school.
Off the husk, through the cob! That's where We draw the milkline!
I’m going to have the check-in’s with Randy jingle stuck in my head all day now😂
It happened to me all night last night!
Millennial Farmer You’re too funny Zach lol.. keep up the good work man. I hope harvest treats you guys good. We’re about halfway through corn silage here in Connecticut, and considering the spring and summer we had it actually hasn’t turned out too bad
It´s really funny seeing Welker Farms finishing their harvest and planning their plantint their winter weeties and seeing Zach Finally beginn his harvest xD
That’s pretty cool. Enjoyed the bean rakes
Oh the Joy I get when I click the video and see it's 20 minutes long! Really appreciate the effort you put into your videos Zach. Thank you so much!
Oklahoma guy here. Used to be lots of peanuts grown here. Glad to see farmers still farming
That check ins with Randy tune is boss. Whoever sang that should get a Grammy nod.
i completely agree
Yessss checkin’s with Randy!!!
Ok, off the husk, genius. However, a point of order. With regard to “check ins with Randy”
I now have “check ins with randy” cycling round and round in my head and I’m guessing it’s gonna be there all day. Jeeeezz, you guys!!
Looking for the podcast now. Loving your work as always, great family, great friends, great team.
It's been stuck in my head for 2 days, its horrible!!
It is great to see another Minnesota farmer. I farmed with my father in Comfrey.
You're making by far the best videos out there!
Lovely blend of warm humor and interesting facts. Simply the best! 🤟🇺🇸
FINALLY! We get to see the new Draper header in action soon. I can't wait for your observations, and hopefully, a more efficient harvest.
You are right, that grain cart/tractor combo looks cool. Can't wait to see it in the field as well.
Hey zack i just wanted to say thank you for everything you do for this great country i love watching your videos you have taught me so much about farming i live in a very arid part of texas we mostly farm cotton and wheat out here but like i said you have taught me alot thank you for teaching and entertaining all of us and most of all heres to ya and god bless yall from texas
I grew up on a farm, worked in the fields driving John Deere tractors and equipment. I enjoy watching the video's
You guys deserve every good thing sent your way!!! awesome work and love the pod cast name!
Nothing awkward about two men deep in the corn talking about small cobbs lol. love the videos man, your humor is right up my alley.
I love the brand loyalty between these two!😂 these guys are two peas in a pod. Great video Zach! 🤘🇺🇸
Like the videos! I see your cart has a clevis. ..you don't want to put the pin in a bind, so the hammer strap needs to be removed on the tractor side if you plan to keep it on that tractor. Also, when you put the 3 bolts back in after harvest make sure the threads are clean and no dirt or paint flakes under the hammerstrap support on the drawbar. (sounds super detailed, PM me and I'll tell you why)
Your🐱cat(not associated with Challenger🚜)was wanting to help you with harvest this year Zach🐈
That's a good shirt idea. "Trucks are red, tractors are green"
Corn looked fairly good - hoping the yield per acre is good. All the fields near the Pecatonica River are flooded. Been flooded on and off all year so far. No crops from those acres this year for anyone. Take care Thank you for the video. Spin
*There is so much to learn here on all your videos. AND it is Entertaining, TOO! ||| Also, I so very much enjoy the constant undertone of Mirthful Irreverence that sweeps along through it all. Brilliant.! So, Thank You. And with that, may i once again raise a toast to Mirthful Irreverence everywhere!*
Randy with the sly mic drop at the end! 🤣
After started following this channel never realized how much stuff goes into farming great channel
Ron throwing back the Busch Lattes! Love it!
Love the Check-ins with Randy!
I love the packing blanket up against the pellet stove. That there is your recording studio fire rated sound proofing UL listed certified equipment. No smoke detector needed.
Great Video, Always Enjoy Your videos. Always glad to see Randy in your videos. That is slick how the tiling machine puts the drainage tile in the Groud. Never seen that done before. Your Graincart is one of the Best looking ones i have seen . It Stands out very well.
I am enjoying the small segment with Randy the MPL!! God Bless you guys!
Nice job I can't wait to see you combine.
Your check ins with Randy jingle is awesome!
That gage for the cart is VARY COOL, wish the one, I run had that!
"Would you two knock it off! Go eat somebody." - Millennial Farmer 2019. Lol! Great video as always! The thing I really like about your videos, is you learn a lot from them, but at the same time they're really funny and enjoyable to watch! Keep up the great work and good luck with the rest of the harvest! Have a great rest of the day - Everett the human and Lachlan the farm pup
Our Kinze has a remote so we can control the gate and the spoute with our thumb and pointer finger while we are unloading. Plus you can pick uo the remote and hold it anywhere while unloading. Its an 1100. It makes everything so much easier than the toggles to your right.
Love the Sandler talking goat!!
Randy Master Pipe Layer...Its David City, Nebraska. ;)
Love that Check-in with Randy song ahahahaha It had me laughing so hard.
When you look at new uploads and you see some green machines 🙌🏻🤩
I would call your podcast “The green nightmare “. Thank you for sharing your amazing journey. God bless you and your family
9:21 seeing trough the window with the camera that close, i almost wiped my iPad screen to see better without thinking about it😁😂
That’s the first podcast I ever listened to I really enjoyed it
Zach I have a way of hooking all the hydraulic lines up the easy way for the 1st hydraulic outlet for the 2 lines that go in I put 1 zip tie around the 2 lines and I put 1 zip tie on the right coupler. So the 2nd coupler you put 2 zip ties on and 1zip tie on the right hydraulic hose So on the 3rd coupler you put 3 zip ties and 1 on the right hose meaning right coupler. And then I take a bungee cord and hang off the center hook of the 3pt hitch. With this method you can change the grain. Cart to another implement in less than 5 minutes and I always put every coupler in float position when hooking up and unlocking the hydraulic hoses so theres no pressure on the hydraulic hoses anytime. Hope this will save you time.
I have gotten hooked on your "tongue-in-cheek" humor. Now I have to figure out how to listen to a Podcast.
COLD ! you should be in Houston and South Texas.... I got in my pickup yesterday and the temp on the dash showed 120deg and that was with the sun shield in the dash.
Three weeks ago we had a tropical storm that came through. It looks like the most of the rain was going to Beaumont, Tx. That Thursday I noticed the lights flicker and looked outside. All the street lights were on. I decided to shut things down and go home.
The 8 minute, 2 mile drive to the house took 3 hours ! The streets had 1 1/2 foot of water !
I ended up sitting in my truck across the street from my house for 2 hours!
We got 12 inches of rain that day.
Driving down the street at 10 mph I could hear the parking sensors of my truck beeping so the water was up to the bumper of my RAM truck.
"There always is something to do on a farm"
' 'Stager' them!! LOL!! Your killing it Zack!
A nice way to keep the hydraulic hoses out of the way is a bar across the bottom of the three point. Simple bungee strap and they’re out of the way!
Hooking up the hoses. Time for some colored electrician's tape to keep the lines straight.
Off the husk is great haha! They are already harvesting corn and beans in central NJ!
Randy segments are great!
We have the same cart. Had to put a restriction fitting on the hydraulic ram that folds the sugar in and out
who knew farming could be so much fun?
This weather here in MN has been something. Just as you were saying it hasn't rained for 3 or 4 days I can hear the rain pounding on the roof. I wish our cart had the gate gauge out on the end like that. Sure easier to see than where ours is. Good luck with harvest whenever we can get going. There have been a few beans taken off around here but not many. Thanks for the video.
Christ if I ever drove in the beans even now...I would have been strung up.
Right! I cringed when I seen that cuz I had a flashback to my dad hollering from the barn at me! Lmao
Loving the check ins with randy 😂😂
Neat. We don't have those on our six row =p
The angled auger is a must have. Even on our little shit we noticed that right off. You need a spout next to your face.
As soon as Ron said, "...they look pretty darn good, huh?" I was like, 'Hey, that's the dude from the podcast I just listened to!' Haha #MinnesotaTalk
I cannot see you come closer. Genius!! That just gained my subscription.
Love the videos and I am going to check out the podcast too. I am looking forward to listening.
A nice change of setting to see Randy. You can only watch a guy lay pipe for so long before you have to find something else to watch.
I wish we could even think about getting in the field. Been raining and snowing here in Manitoba for the last month with no end in sight
Right! What little wheat we did run here gave us 80 to 85 bushels an acre though!
Don’t feel bad hardly anyone here in Minnesota is in the field!
Really enjoy the videos and also enjoying the new podcast.
A great video as usual. i'm looking forward to see the tracked cart haul a load . Hopefully the weather will work out for you. Like i said in an earlier comment up here north east of you we have some very wet conditions.
I think we need to take a minute to thank becky for editing all of these videos. Great video as always. 👍
Becky says Thank you
Do you take one continuous video and have it edited down to the interesting parts? Also what do you use for getting clips under the equipment? Clamp?
Awesome video thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍👍
off to google for the podcast, Thanks!
To help your mistake proof you set ups / change overs... Put a red plastic zip tie on the end of all the right side hydraulic lines - "red is right"
Hey Goat! you better still be on the Truck!
Off the husk that’s really good
I know you probably don't want to cover up that nice green paint because no one does. But I think that cart would go great with a blacked out tractor.
Smart move looking ahead and adding that wet bin, prob will be needing it this season. (I know nothing about farming other than what I have picked up from your vid’s, thank you). Railroader here.
Great video,Thankyou
Love y’all and god bless y’all
Zack, I know nothing about farming or the agricultural industry, however I’ve always wanted be a farmer. I’ve ran earthmovers such as CAT 657s, D8s, and D9s but I’ve never ran any farming equipment. I’d love to run some of that beautiful green machinery one day. Love your videos, your content is gold! Keep up the good work!
Damn, never seen the pipe laying machine! Awesome!
Awesome singing lol
I died laughing when you were explaining what would happen if the reel fingers would go through a Case IH lol
Subbed to OTH! Have enjoyed your gig with Mitch and thus looking fwd to more rambling farm talk, er, ... I mean... intelligent & witty discourse on ag practice and lifestyle. #somethinglikethat
Love all these companies that want to be part of your channel!
Great salesman...............Jim, “ if it went through a red machine you’d be down for awhile “
Great idea to have a break off with randy the MPL. Makes great content!
I have learned so much from your video’s!
The old goat!!! Love it!!!
