Magnificent. It’s a pity that women’s figure skating is becoming all about the jumps. I would rather watch Sasha Cohen and Yuna Kim skate with no jumps than all the quads and arm flaying that is women’s skating now

One of the greatest artistic performances of all time! Sasha Cohen was the most balletic and naturally gifted skater I've ever seen, she simply couldn't handle the pressure of competition and usually made major mistakes at World championships and Olympics. However this performance shows what she was capable of; stunning, gorgeous!

This was the first time I saw Sasha perform and it was live. I was shocked to speechless! Nobody could or can convince me that there's some skater anywhere better than this. None. Has anyone repeated that last spin in that exact manner since? Oh, and there are some other moves I have never seen in some of her performances elsewhere. Maybe one day I will watch in detail again to tag the unique yet-to-be-repeated moves from the Queen herself!

Perfection bottled in the exquisite graceful body of Sasha Cohen.
This had me bawling when I watched it live. I was Soooo So happy for her. This type of skating will most likely never be seen again, we now have so much mechanical jumps that they seem to have forgotten that a sport can be beautiful as much as it is skillful. Sasha may not ever truly know what she brought to millions of fans and to the sport itself. I am grateful i had the chance to see her grow from Juniors to the Olympics and Worlds.

COP was used during the gran prix that year. Tarasova choreographed a program that would pull in points so Sasha could win ... even if she fell. Tarasova was a smart coach!!! Love the name of your channel! But what about her marks? Must have been good since she beat Michelle, but not Arakawa.

No way. Sasha skated under Michelle's shadow. Actually, Sasha never really beat Michelle. Why ? Sasha told people that she learned a lot from Michelle's performance, the judges must see the truth.

What is that skill called where she has her leg up towards the end. In gymnastics we call it scale. She did those the highest and best in skating. Such a graceful skater.

It’s called a spiral! Sasha Cohen was so good at them (as you can see, lol). Her spirals are always beautiful.

Perfect skating to perfect choreography to the music. A trifecta.

I find timing such an interesting thing. Had Sasha been old enough to put in this performance at the 1988, 1992, 1994, or 1998 Olympics, she would have won gold at the ‘88 Olympics, a close call for gold or silver at the ‘92 Olympics, for sure a gold at the ‘94 Olympics, and silver at the ‘98 Olympics.

No way. If people held the Olympics each year, Michelle Kwan would win the most golds.

I think, overall, Robin Wagner installed better work ethics onto Sasha despite what most people or critics think. And the other thing, Swan Lake is Sasha's favorite music of choice. Other than Romeo and Juliet. I saw in some videos when Tatiana Tarasova coached with Sasha, I didn't feel that Sasha was that happy being coached with her. Even when Tatiana was raving with admiration and showering praises onto Sasha But when she was reunited with Coach John Nicks, it feels that he doesn't seem to communicate well with Sasha, hence her disappointing long performance.

We had it good seeing exquisite once-in-a-lifetime skating from Sasha during her time but she was not appreciated for it. We get to look back and not even remember the others. Worse, the ones nowadays don't even come close. What's her name who was on drugs was the closest and we saw how that turned out. SASHA, THE IRREPLACABLE QUEEN OF FIGURE SKATING, WE MISS YOU!

When you listen to the commentary, objectively, it’s maddening. The subtle put downs - if you are an athlete with any kind of mental barriers the commentary is so incredibly toxic. At the end of the “if she doesn’t trip will be her crowning moment of the year.” The nerve of these people. Child abuse. Call it what it is and believe me, I’ve both handled this commentary and ditched it. Never point out others downfall. Support them. Believe in them. No one cares what your small voice thinks. I’m done. 😂

Now people can see how Michelle impacted Sasha. Sasha told people that she learned a lot from Michelle's performance. And Yuna Kim also inspired by Michelle.
