This is one of the best installation videos I’ve seen anywhere! Clear, concise instructions delivered with camera angles that actually show what’s going on. Great work. I’m on the fence about this product and have nearly purchased it twice now but am concerned about drilling holes into the air box! That just seems like a potential ingress point for dust once the screws get enough jostling from the power plate. I’m trying to work out a way to install this without going through the air box. I might try gluing studs in those places that can take thumb screws. .. or am I worried for no reason.
You are definitely worried for no reason. We have sold 1,000's of these and what you mentioned is not an issue whatsoever. If you are truly concerned you can simply replace the wood screws with regular screws with nylock nuts on the inside of the airbox but again, this isn't really a thing. We would recommend getting the kit and if for some reason once you see it you are genuinely concerned you can send it back but we really don't see that happening we are that confident.

You definitely don't want to install the snorkels. We don't say to do that in this video or in the instructions (for anyone else reading), but the PowerPlate is designed to be snorkel free.
I just picked up a 2020 790 with your prefilter set up. I will keep it on but will need extra filters. The surface area is small and in dusty conditions will plug up in a half day on some of my rides. Just went to your store and see you requirement changing once a day. Good call. I will buy 5 dual foam elements.
It's more of a suggestion than a rule really, but depending on the riding you do it's never a bad idea. Here is the link! www.rottweilerperformance.com/rottweiler-performance-replacement-filters-for-790-890-901-adventure-power-plate/
Just got my 901, already had the power plate, but snorkels we still installed pushing the foam into the air box, not correct right? I'll buy a new filter I guess
My buddy uses one and recommended it. However mine is a 2023 cfmoto Ibex 800 T. My air box is way different. Do you make one that fits the 800 ? Thanks

I installed this kit but had the filter orientation wrong, thanks for the video.! Question: The kit came with 2 extra thumb nuts, nice add. Because the threads lack locking elements do you purpose these in the kit becuase its likely to fall off in service?
Thanks Mike! Yeah, we add the extra thumb nuts so that if for any reason they get misplaced, you will have backup. We've had pretty good luck with ours staying on even during service, but it never hurts to have a spare!
This is 'PRE' filter, but we don't see any further danger from water than stock to be honest. Stock has the open snorkels, this replaces them with foam closer to the rear of the airbox so you are probably better off with the Power Plate in wet conditions when compared to stock. The snorkels will just deliver the water to the airbox where the Power Plate should hinder water a bit.
We actually haven't but would probably not recommend that. It's an interesting idea for sure, but the design is made to be more of a pre staged filtering device rather than a main filter. If you are looking for big power gains, we would recommend the full intake system linked below. That system has a triple stage filter and a lot of surface area for filtration combined with big power gains from the shape of our airbox design. www.rottweilerperformance.com/fuel-air-24/
Hey Mike! Yes, these filters are reusable. We also sell just the filters by themselves on our website as well: www.rottweilerperformance.com/rottweiler-performance-replacement-filters-for-790-890-901-adventure-power-plate/
What about the power restriction once all this foam is added is this not going to restrict air intake even further. This foam oiled filter is going to help with dust particles, but shouldn’t the stock air filter inside be replaced with some kind of high airflow type filter so it can suck in a bit more air and increase the amount of airflow to further increase the power and smoothness of the power delivery?
Hi, I am going to order one for my Norden Expedition, but I have two questions, one of them ¿it could be a problem to cut the excess filter "ears" on the sides? And the second one, I have instead of the OEM paper filter the foam filter from Twin Air, but I have seen that you use OEM paper, do you think the paper one it would perform better in terms of performance and protection with your Power plate? Thanks so much for your time ;-)
I have running issues now I have fitted the power plate There is a small lag on the throttle response from shut throttle, and it seems to lack a bit of power Also get popping bangs on deceleration which tells me it’s lean ? Hope you can help Regards Tom
This part is probably one of our #1 products and we don't really get feedback like this if at all so we think this may be related to something else. The true way to find out is to put the stock cover back on and see if the problem goes away. If it stays, it's something else. We would recommend doing this A/B test a few times to know for sure. If you truly have in issue with the part, reach out to our customer service team and they can certainly help further.
I’m new to KTM/Norden What I could not understand from this video (which is very easy to follow) is why is this needed? It seems like you put an extra filter before the stock one. And why is it called power plate? Thanks
We call them Power Plates because they power up your filtration capabilities. The stock air boxes on KTM’s are notorious for letting dust by the paper filter, and this product acts as a pre filter for the paper filter without choking out your intake system and reducing horsepower like some of the factory KTM solutions can. You can easily carry spare filters as well and change them on the trail with ease.

If i put your 2 stage airbox's in and put on a decat - do I need to get a powercommander too? Or can I get away with the factory tune. I'm using factory muffler
Need and want are different here. Do you need a Power Commander on models 790 and above? No, they self tune themselves to a 14.7 air fuel ratio and keep things in check pretty well. That being said, if you are looking to exploit all the power you can on this model, the Power Commander is highly recommended. The same exact thing that would happen in stock form. The air-box would fill with water. We don't have that info unfortunately. There are so many countries with so many different regulations it's hard to keep up but these are completely hidden on the bike and if they are checking exhaust gasses you can zero out the unit temporarily by saving the original map on your computer, taking all the map values to zero and resending the map and it will output exactly the same as stock as there are no modifications to the map happening when they are all zero.
