  • This video shows you have to replace the battery on a Timex IronMan watch. If you have a Timex IronMan watch with a dead battery, it’s pretty easy to replace the battery. The Timex IronMan watch has four screws on the back that holds the back in place, so you need to unscrew those four screws and then remove the back from the watch, and you will see the battery. On the Timex IronMan watch the battery is held in place by a metal band that is secured by a screw. This makes the Timex IronMan watch very sturdy and impact resistant. Unscrew the screw that holds the battery in, and then remove the battery strap. Next, put the new battery in with the side that has the writing on it facing you, and then make sure that the rubber gasket is in place around the back of the watch because the Timex Iron Man watch is waterproof. Then carefully put the back cover on the watch and screw the four screws down. Make sure you put the cover on right side up. That is how You do battery replacement on a Timex Iron Man watch.

This was a great help......thank you!!! I have 2 of these watches whose batteries died at the same time. Was going to take them to a watch repair as I've done in the past but I know they charge a lot to change the battery. After watching your video I ordered the batteries on Amazon and changed them myself today for $2.50 each!

My phone called emergency services while i was running today so decided to give my old timex from 2012+mapmyrun a shot instead of my phones gps. Truly great watches. Surprised mine still works. Thanks for the tutorial

These watches are the best. I've had two of them over 15 years. Just swapped batteries today and its good as new.

I agree. They’re super tough, and the battery lasts for years and years.

Great video! After removing the screws, how were you able to get the 2 overlaps to free the cover?

I used a small flathead screwdriver (for eyeglasses) to gently pry off cover. On my watch there is a slight gap in center area on both sides that I slid tiny screwdriver under. I was not able to get cover back on after changing battery though. Had to use same small screwdriver to press in on one side of one pin that holds band on which releases band. I was careful to leave other side of pin on band still intact though because I know it can be difficult to get the pin back in those holes (on my watch anyway). Releasing one side of band pin was enough to get cover to slide back on. Hope that helps.

Yeah this is where I am stuck. Can't get the back off because those rubber overhangs hold it in pretty tight. Might also be a little stuck too.

@@corgan0 If you take just one of the bands off you'll be able to remove the cover. With one band removed you can slide the cover out from under the remaining band. I only took one side of the pin out that holds the band on to make it easier to get it back on and didn't remove the other band at all. When you are ready to put cover back on slide it under the side of the band that you left on first. Good luck!

You need to tell people how to short the copper contacts to reset the watch, otherwise it doesn’t work. Really a disservice without that explanation
