Alberto Breccia is one of the best of the best and more versatile artists in history of latinamerican comics. He was born in my country,Uruguay, but he live and draw in Argentina that is abrother country to me. All his experiments and styles are amazing. I´m glad you can have and enjoyed this book.
I am excited for more of his fully abstract period to get translated. There some absolute gems artwise that he made alongside scripts from some of argentina's finest scriptwriters.
This was an amazing video. I didn't know that Breccia did a cartoony book. The colors and shapes and composition take it to another level. Also THE EXILES really looks fascinating. Great Art
Breccia is in my mind one of the greatest masters of the form. Definately in my personal top 3 alongside Moebius. Also the political satire element of this work is even more powerful when you read more about the context he made it in. Not the best thing he ever did story wise. (The art is solid gold) but the work of a master nonetheless.
Yes, indeed, you can see the political satire also in this volume. Every story in Dracula is a metaphor of the dictatorship, I guess Daniele Brolli says it, so he had to make it surreal and silent to avoid censorship and to have no problems. The fact that you see Superman is a criticism on USA control and values, like the spot "all is fine with coca cola", etc. The story where you see the human flesh cut in pieces refers to the desaparecidos and so do the widows crying and the hungry children. The Nation is a vampire that sucks the blood of its citizens. I think that Dracula is a really strong work.

He is amazing. I hope Fantagraphics releases all of his work.

I sure hope Fanta does it all, this stuff is stellar.

Breccia is a beast no matter what he does.
Definitely grab The Exile. Great book!
Love Alberto's work. His son Enrique is also worth checking out if you haven't. His Alvar Mayor has some delicious lines.
I have the box set of the Alvar Mayor set on the way from their latest campaign. Excited!
I ordered vol 4 with the slipcase!
I was unaware of the Breccia Lovecraft stuff but now eagerly await it!
The images I have seen on the net are nuts

Him and Mattoti are my obsessions right now.
The Greatest of All TIme
A real beast. For sure.
So glad I picked this up from my library. Still haven’t been able to look at a physical copy of Eternaut, but I look forward to picking one up
I still need to read Eternaut! -Carson
The sketchbook pages must be intended for artists?
I dunno, pretty typical backmatter stuff. Definitely instructive.
The fantagraphics version this time ain't that great, the colors reproduction has some flaws.
After seeing some images online, yeah, they really sucked the colors out by printing it on matte paper. A real bummer.
