... 1:45 , "Cool, ------! Moon Man Is Full!" What'd he say? Top Tune 17 on Seventeen this week, though nationally on the charts, Buddy Knox's "Swingin' Daddy" only got up to number 80.
Seventeen years old, got my first car, went to my first rock 'n roll dance. Buddy Knox and the Rythm Orchids were playing. Good times.
My mother and Buddy's mother were first cousins. I remember seeing Buddy, who was a few years old than I. at a family reunion in Brownwood, TX back in the 1950's.
These kids are in their 80's now! Crazy how time flies.
Yes I’m 79 and I appeared on there in July of 1958. My boyfriend and I won a dance contest on there, would love to find those tapes to view. My children, grandchildren would love to watch it!! Does anyone have access to these old tapes???? Who do I contact to find out??? Sheri Pelz
Look how innocent they are. I am of that generation. Very Very few of the girls had sex then. Of course, "The Pill" was not around yet.

Excellent video quality 50's kinescope; almost looks like video tape. This video is exceptional quality for a 1950's kinescope recording. A kinescope was a 16mm camera that photographed a television monitor. Before the advent of video tape recording, it was the only practical technology to record live television programs. This kinescope is the exception in video quality. The norm was fair to poor video quality.
OMG, was I ever that young as the kids in this video! I love the clothes, especially the girls; they all look like young women, not like actors in a horror film! All the dancers looked like they were having a fun time. The 1950's and 60's may have been a turbulent time in this country, but I would gladly take those times over the insanity of today; and these thoughts are coming from a Viet-Nam veteran.

@@nathanmulroy8313 The current generation has lost the experiences and universality of past generations. The current generation is enthralled with social media and can't perceive their surroundings past the screen of their smart phones!

Correction, I think I glimpsed a girl beginning to smile towards the end of the song :).
They may have been nervous about dancing on TV - if they would make a wrong step & get harassed about it.
