dfw crown When you're a songwriter, a lot of the time, you tend to be your toughest critic. We see it a lot.
He said he didn't like it. Past tense. Now that's it's one of his money maker songs I'm sure he has gotten use to it. And trust me I deal with musicians literally everyday for work and they are always tough on their own material.
Sometimes you write just to write. You might not like it at first, but when it sits & marinades for awhile its gets better.

Did you listen to the song? Go read the lyrics it's talking about moving to the city and life being not what you expected it be in the city. Theres nothing in there relating to manipulation.
