Marcelo é perfeccionista. Lembro de sua gravação do "choro da saudade" apresentada no extinto "clássicos em fm", anos 80 da rádio JB. Mas, o mundo musical é complicado e ele fez bem em se afastar. Hoje é um senhor com absoluto domínio do instrumento. Um brasileiro de grande valor que deveria set.mais divulgado. O Brasil precisa valorizar mais os grandes instrumentistas.
Toca discos em ordem. Resgatando meus vinis. Fazia tempo...Paco, Segóvia...E lá está, em tons de azul: os Estudos de Villa-Lobos; e Garoto. Tudo muito vivo, ainda mais vibrante. Manhã de 26 de abril de 2021. Achei você, Marcelo Kayath. E aqui vou eu na busca. Uma luz grande, você.
How in the world... For the last three days I've been listening to various renditions of Bach on guitar and lute here on UA-cam. And after three full days of brilliant interpretations, I come across this and it blows me away. Unbelievable.
I highly recommend Paul Galbraiths album of the full Sonatas and Partitas. Truly my favourite guitar album of all time (and I have a lot).

The Double is pure musical insanity. J.S. Bach was a monster composer. Genius! And or course the playing is brilliant. It's so difficult to articulate this well and keep the voicings separate.

it feels like childhood innocence to me that is slowly ending. i know i am probably wrong, this is the feeling i got from gigue.

I've said it before. Marcelo Kayath is the best classical guitar player ever. Pepe Romero's perfection is too perfect for a human ear. Marcelo's sound is as perfect as what a human ear can understand and enjoy. And yes, I have all the CDs and records from Pepe Romero (autographed by him), Andres Segovia, Narciso Yepes, John Williams, Julian Bream, and all the rest).
Wow, the precision, the bright interpretation and sound, the energy, I am simply amazed. It is a gift just having the ability to listen to this.

I had an unique oportunity to watch Marcelo Kayath at Villa Lobos' week in 1987 in Campinas, São Paulo State, Brazil.
Watched this and went off and bought this CD and sheet music straight away. Killer playing, production and the cost was only 13 bucks for all that. Keep em' coming guys.

Eu tenho o vinil de estreia do Kayath, com as bagatelas do Walton, tocando com o Fleta. Claro que o Marcelo vai sempre soar como o Marcelo em qquer violão, mas com o Hauser parece que valoriza mais sua própria identidade, tocando com muita nuance, fazendo o violão soar como já não soa mais nos dias de hoje.
Obrigado Marcelo por nos dar esse prazer em ouvi-lo novamente em uma nova fase depois de tantos anos!

Perfection!. The best interpretation, execution, articulation and ornamentation I've heard with regard to any JS Bach piece. So fluid, light and joyful. Marcelo Kayath is a supreme musical talent whose passion bifurcated with him becaming an electrical engineer! What can't this man do?

Numa classificação entre ouro, prata e bronze, eu diria que o Marcelo é DIAMANTE em um grau de lapidação nunca visto antes.

La interpretación es digna de un maestro como es M. Kayath. El movimiento constante de la cámara durante la grabación no ayuda a disfrutar de la música. Por cierto que la interpretación de La Maja de Goya ante A. Segovia me pareció magistral y anunciaba lo mucho que este músico daría de sí en el futuro.
