You are very masterful, and you play this diabolically difficult piece with such ease and technical facility. Pay no attention to the comments of amateurs. Your interpretation is as astute as it is musical, and your execution, sublime.
Not rushing these pieces and letting them flow rhythmically almost like a roller coaster slowing down and speeding up really brings the counterpoint to light and showcases its beauty.
As near as the ideal sound for Bach (at least on the six-string guitar) I can imagine. The tone, marble, solid and crystal-clear. The phrasing, impeccable. To achieve this level of fluency in which one only hears the music, pure and straightforward, without any quirks or mannerism, is a herculean feat. This is among the small amount of Bach that actually sounds convincing on the guitar (up there with Russell, Barrueco, Galbraight, Hubert Kappell and very few others). Exquisitely recorded too to caprture the ideal guitar sound as it would actually (or close enough) sound in a hall with good, but not overeechoing acustics.

This is fabulous. Hearing about 'technical difficulty' of pieces on UA-cam gets boring fast, I just want to hear the music. But I used to play this piece myself so I know how hard it is, and it is insane to be able to hear someone play it with this level of ease and absolutely everything in place. You're a great guitarist.

I disagree. His ornamentation is excellent, and most certainly not improvised, as might be common on a keyed instrument. Modern baroque performance practice calls for tasteful adornment (motific, if possible) upon repetition of a section, and that's exactly what we see here. I find them tastefully conceived and correctly placed and distributed. Having studied this piece extensively myself, I must add that the ornamentation is the least of the challenges here. Sustained 3 voice fugue with a "double" section is nearly impossible to execute even without ornamentation. Monno makes it look and sound simple.
Sounds incredible! Those melodic lines flowing and twisting into each other in perfect harmony in a such cromatic limited instrument like the guitar... Genius work in composition by Bach and genius work in interpretation "taming" all those voices. Nice video too!
