  • Lost of confidence making GOLD PROSPECTING videos
A couple of month ago, I almost total confidence in my ability to make gold prospecting videos.
I know I'm not the best content creator out there, but I started to second guess myself.
    Watch my journey back..
Buy me a coffee, it would be really appreciated!

You are a normal person and not trying to be somebody you are not. Just stick with it, don't stop believing and it will get easier and better. Your videos on using the maps were fascinating. Thank you.

I'm no expert, but I like watching people that share their joy of prospecting. I've noticed some that broke away from just being and sharing their knowledge and excitement, to just trying to make a video. I like real people. Keep being you, and I believe that is why people are subscribing and watching your adventures. I just found you, and am looking forward to watching more of your content. Good luck with getting back to just being you.

Stop worrying and stop putting yourself down. You're doing good. Be proud of yourself and keep doing what you do, as long as you enjoy doing it.

There is nothing wrong with what you were doing. What most people want to know and struggle with is, Understanding ground eg eastern goldfields gold is often found below sandy surfaces with little rock showing (hidden gravels). Great northern hwy is all salt and pepper mostly and much large surface rocks. Raw videos are far better, people focus to much on polished videos thats fine if you want to become a "mega star" but for most they just want to learn or pick up tips they never thought about. Regarding ground, small gravels V larger gravels, Clean quartz V rotten quartz , manganese content (presence), Iron content, Hot ground V benign ground, Hot rocks V no hot rocks, etc etc. Just my thoughts.

UA-cam is a hard game to play. I almost gave up 50 times in my last 11 years. I think you’ve got the knowledge that the rest of us need and want to use.

I have showed your Channel to other people, and we all agree that we appreciate your views, and your abilities to explain the important points, and the little nuances of this fun game we share Gold Detecting.
There are enough yobs just showing them scratching in the dirt, whooping and hollering about a little piece.
Hope you feel happier soon, and looking forward to seeing your vids.

Bruce, your honesty and generosity of Time & Knowledge are greatly appreciated. I can relate to your not receiving instant feedback from your viewers, fans, and followers due to our one-way communication method via social media. Please keep up your online presence, we need you as a guide. You are loved and respected more than you will ever know. You are are great Ambassador for Prospectors and a fabulous human being. Cheers from Michael. Australia.

Self doubt is quite understandable and relatable Bruce, it's hard to put yourself out there. Focus less on the likes or views and more on your passion and what you think you would've liked to hear or learn when you were starting out prospecting and the rest will take care of itself.
I remember you started making vids at around the exact time I started prospecting and I thought your videos were terrific and really helped me learn!
If you're repeating something it's probably because it's important.
You're one subscription that I actually look out for and watch as soon as I see a new video released.
So thanks for all the content so far and I look forward to what's next! 👍

Thank god! I thought you were going to say that you were going to quit. I think you are going through a process of evolution. Self doubt is a normal emotion but I hope you keep making videos. You have one of a very few unique channels and have been one of the main influences in my pursuit of this interest. I have learned a tremendous amount from the information you have provided. I have rewatched some of them over and over, learning new in each time Keep it up! Cheers Paul.

Just try and enjoy making the videos and it will become infectious. I like what you do, dont get stressed by pressure to do better, they are good enough and honest.

Good on you Bruce, it takes courage to talk about these thoughts and feelings openly.
I am sure that I could speak for many other prospectors and say that we really appreciate the experience and knowledge that you share with us. The whole geology knowledge is something that you can't learn overnight it would take a lifetime so we value the shortcuts that you give us to help us in our hobby.
    Cheers Pete

Mate, your videos are some of the best and most informative on UA-cam, and we are very lucky that you share them. Very refreshing to have someone sharing some actual knowledge about the subject rather than just digging up nuggets. Although those are pretty cool to watch also sometimes haha. Keep it going mate.

People like me are watching not for the Spiel berg effects or production. We are watching to learn from a good teacher. Which you are. Thank you for your time and Effort. I live in Queensland. SO my prospecting trips to WA are once a year. I prospect for the love of travel and being in the bush. BUT I still want to find at least one piece of gold. You make that possible. Thank you. GEOChemical charts review and location would be great

I just found your videos tonight and watched a few of them. I think they are pretty cool not just merely looking for gold, but also gives more knowledge of mining etc. I like it because it was educational. I bet many here not just look for gold but also wanna learn something behind those shafts, mines, the history, the formation of vein etc.

I am new to this and it is incredibly hard to find information on how to find areas to prospect in WA. I would like to thank you for making the process somewhat easy to follow the steps to finding an area that is legal and a good probability of finding gold. Cheers

Just relax and make the videos you wish to make. Are you trying to become successful at UA-cam, or successful at prospecting? I just do my work and show what I am doing.
For me it is easy because my wife and I have fun in the field and the videos are just a side effect. It also becomes much easier over time to make the right raw footage to begin with which makes the editing much easier.

Just as long I put it in my words ln the Adirondack mountains in New York state- like to be in the woods it is ok. I do not know if this helps I found 3 volcanos the second one I call Mother nature volcano. It blew sand for miles and miles. with planted trees.[ I am so slow it took all summer to figure where our soil came from} Back in 1930s my forestry school said Red pine and Schoch pine were not native to the U.S. the U.S. hired people to plant them called CCC camps. Well now I am the smartest 80 year old geologist that metal detected for only TWO years that went to only 1 year to forestry School I think I have 23 subscribers no body metal detect in N.Y. because until 1943 all gold and sliver belong to new your which they still teach in schools per a state employee.

I think the your video content is good 😊😊😊
You will all ways get negative feedback from people that don't know and do not want to share.
So just don't read the negative and stay positive 😊😊😊

I have been very disappointed with the views on my last three videos. I guess it’s not that interesting to a lot of people.
I will say, you can make a video which you think is good and it flops, then you slap something together to use up some footage and it gets good views. I have enough footage to make a few more videos from our last trip, I might hold back now.
I do these videos for my own records so it doesn’t really matter. You just hope others may like it, but if they don’t, what can you do..
