I would imagine that in a real attack they would time the LRASM launch to arrive right after the MALDs arrive on target. Maybe try to get the timing a little tighter next time
If there are an unrealistic number of B-52s, probably. That would make it too obviously a dummy. They would know we aren’t sending a spam level of B-52s to attack this fleet
Imagine the chaos if the C-17's dropped Rapid-Dragon/max loadout possible numbers of *MALDs*, and it's a smaller flight of fighters who drop a smaller number of LRASMs.
You should be selling the movie rights to this Cap - a real thriller and the good guys won. US was looking at integrating them into their B-52's, with a potential capacity of 20. US has more than a few B-52's. And I suspect that LRASM can be programmed for time on target IRL than you could possible try to set up. Great stuff.

Excellent video and I believe the US has their strategy down to a science in the real world with the latest versions of decoys, rapid dragon and JAASSM/LRASM, extended range HARM. Add to that the AIM-120D3, AIM-260, and several other missiles known to be in early development (but who knows which will make it to full implementation), and finally, the selection process for the NGAD fighter was just announced wtih an initial design decision anticipated in 2024. I feel for you Cap! I was going to mention it and then someone said it at the end of the video, just 25% PK rate for all blue missiles, and the reds had all of their damage done by firing only half the number of missiles. So odd.
Your missile tracking issues may be partly due to server load from the number of assets the game is trying to process at once, essentially its updating each asset less frequently so the course corrections are coming later than they would in a smaller engagement.
This was really freaking cool the last time you did this mission, and WAY freaking cooler this time around!!! Those decoys have really been a game changer, and to see this in numbers against a mission backdrop that you just recently did was a brilliant proof of concept!!! I would love to see the US randomly put some guidance and warheads on some of the MALDs when adversaries start to get wise. Imagine the "code brown" not knowing if it's gonna blow up or not? 😅 What a battle though, cracking job Cap and fellows, that was a lot of fun to watch 🎉

I would imagine a simultaneous attack on the S400 and the BSF to overload the strategic C2. The Russian C2 is poor and very inefficient so a two pronged attack would crash their real-time reporting.
I think the F-15 could probably carry 14 MALDs each, 3 on each wing pilon and 4 on each CFT. Some things to note are that the SU-57 would not be used I'm sure you know that already, SU-35s are not stationed in crimea as they kept getting harassed by drones, there are 6 S-400 sites on crimea 4 of which are relevant to this simulation. Another thing is that the black sea fleet has much less capable ships in it with probably the most capable classes being the Krivak-II and the Karakurt

From what little I have gathered on that decoy drone it has the RCS of B-52. Now your a Russian SAM site and you see 100 B52's coming at you are you legitimately going to ignore a bomber that can carry 70K pounds of pain for your country coming at full speed.
2:40 Do we know for certain that any of those Russian ships are seaworthy? It would probably be a more realistic test if the Russian fleet was tied up in port.
excellent look into the future of combat. next have decoy drones well forward as modeled here with XQ-58 50nm back armed with say 2x AIM-9x each and f15ex 50nm back from the XQ-58. the f15ex would command the xq-58's and act as offensive decoys against enemy fighters. the cost of 1 f15ex= 10 xq-58's. cost of the pilots =priceless.
Al though it has the rcs of upto a b52. It would probably be pretending to be a few f 16s for example. I belive it can mimic multiple aircraft at a time and turn on and off. So you could in theory have real missiles killing phantom planea.
Has anyone IRL sketched out a "missile bucket"? A unmanned and cheap "decoy with teeth" that can be loaded down with missile and flown in large numbers head on into heavy CAP with it's only goal being to get close enough fast enough to fire all it's missile before getting shot down? The tactic I'm thinking of would be to launch missiles that are just good enough to force the reds to expend time, countermeasures and fuel avoiding them. Actually shooting anyone down would be a bonus, but the primary point would be to just keep them occupied and unable to accomplish their defensive mission.

Would be great if an engagement ring could could be displayed on the map which would adjust according to the selected aircraft or missiles speed and altitude. Perhaps as a 3d map option. Good for visualising the gaps in defences.

In the news recently: UK Type 31 to get Mk 42 VLS Type 45 to get 24 Sea Ceptor nd 48 Aster 30 Type 36 Frigate 48 Sea Ceptor and 24 Mk42 VLS Wildcat helicopters with Martlet and Sea Venom Would love to see these assets modelled for UK and European Naval war games, understand the complexities and expense but the RN seems to be modernizing and expanding its forces a lot atm.

As the Russians have had problem with Fratricide (SAMs taking out MiGs and SU’s) you should show a SAM taking out 1 or 2 SU’s. Problem with the SU-57’s - The Russians aren’t flying them in Ukraine because they don’t have more than a few of them, and those they have aren’t production versions. I was wondering if we could do an ALL Stealth (F-22’s, F-35’s, F-117’s & B-2’s) on the Russian fleet with a “Time on Target Attack” as the Russians did with the Patriot Battery.. I think it would be really good if you could show the effects of stealth in this kind of battle.
In one of Tom Clancy's books, Red Storm Rising, the Russians used Kelt Missiles to fake the Americans to shoot most of their missiles then launched their main attack from Backfire bombers.
Isn't the radar emulated in DCS for the Russian SAMs? And if so, wouldn't it cause the SAM sites radars to work harder if the decoys are spread out more.
If the missles are in a tighter group, it's harder to distinguish between individual targets at longer ranges depending on the pulse width. If you're using a long pulse width, you have a longer range but lower resolution. If you're using a short pulse width you get a higher resolution but a shorter range. You can increase the range of a short pulse width with a higher output power, but at a certain point a certain point you run into the principle of diminishing returns. Can't blame technology being biased towards the Americans, it'll be bit difficult to calculate cost of the armaments from the ship and SAM sites, you'd have to count individually.
Has anyone fielded a decoy/missile? That would be a platform that's primary intended to act as a decoy, but with enough teeth to make it a very expensive mistake to not take it seriously? It would be a real annoyance to have a decoy get all the way thought a defensive network and only scrape paint.

Curious about MALD + JASSM-ER for destruction of enemy air defenses. Could a medium volume strike destroy Russian S-300 and other equipment efficiently?
If the Rapid Dragon had been loaded with JASSM ER instead of LRASM, perhaps all of the ground based air defenses could have been destroyed. Then come back the next day to hit the fleet with LRASM. The Russian vessels either flee to Novorossisk or get overwhelmed without ground based SAM cover.
I know it makes for better videos, but the Russian pilot skills are set way to high lol, from all the reports I've seen most russian pilots don't even get 4 hours a week, some don't even get 4 hours a month in a plane. Keep up the great work!!
What I love about these videos is basically how can we nerf USA versus the best of everyone else. The amount of American support that's ignored and the amount of the let's trust the reported numbers from other nations is outstanding. Recently Russian specs have been proven horribly wrong.
the 57 has an rcs of a clean f18 so how exactly is it half stealth lol its been pretty much decided that it doesn't even make it into 5th gen categories
Does the game see the decoys as several planes or missiles like they supposedly can show up as on radar. Shouldn't you have used HARMS before the others?

I would like to point out, S-400’s do not turn off their radar. They are equipped with IFF, and such systems have been in use since WW2, so not sure where you heard that from. Also, Russia’s aircraft are specifically designed to operate within their SAM net, making it a much more powerful defensive package. So, not sure where people got this idea from.

I would like to see a combination of the Bismarck, Tirpitz, and maybe one more? and the Yamato versus the USS New Jersey, USS Wisconsin, USS Alabama, and one other. It just seems like it would be an amazing matchup in my opinion
Given this fictional scenario would it not be true that if you did see all those decoy missiles clumped together you would still have to fire at them because they are decoys for a reason? What country is going to spend near $50 million firing decoys if not to hide real missiles among them? So surely even this brute force attempt would have to be defended against...

Still gonna be out of range, C-17 can just fire a little more faraway, LRASM's has 560km+ range, r37m max range of 400.

Red fired a lot more SAM's which the tracker wasnt counting, the long range S400 missiles wernt being picked up.

Curious about MALD + JASSM-ER for destruction of enemy air defenses. Could a medium volume strike destroy Russian S-300 and other equipment efficiently?
Maybe throw some HARM into the mix as well. Then follow up with surface launched drones and missiles to take out any remaining equipment.
If the Rapid Dragon had been loaded with JASSM ER instead of LRASM, perhaps all of the ground based air defenses could have been destroyed. Then come back the next day to hit the fleet with LRASM. The Russian vessels either flee to Novorossisk or get overwhelmed without ground based SAM cover.
Is it just me or does the 3d model of the ADM-160C look wrong in terms of proportion?

I know it makes for better videos, but the Russian pilot skills are set way to high lol, from all the reports I've seen most russian pilots don't even get 4 hours a week, some don't even get 4 hours a month in a plane. Keep up the great work!!

What I love about these videos is basically how can we nerf USA versus the best of everyone else. The amount of American support that's ignored and the amount of the let's trust the reported numbers from other nations is outstanding. Recently Russian specs have been proven horribly wrong.

Using waypoints and have them fire the MALDs staggered won't work?
Does the game see the decoys as several planes or missiles like they supposedly can show up as on radar. Shouldn't you have used HARMS before the others?
I would love to see this used in regards to the China-Taiwan conflict.

I would like to point out, S-400’s do not turn off their radar. They are equipped with IFF, and such systems have been in use since WW2, so not sure where you heard that from. Also, Russia’s aircraft are specifically designed to operate within their SAM net, making it a much more powerful defensive package. So, not sure where people got this idea from.

Again there would always be real missiles mixed in they would never not fire at them because that could be worse.

I would like to see a combination of the Bismarck, Tirpitz, and maybe one more? and the Yamato versus the USS New Jersey, USS Wisconsin, USS Alabama, and one other. It just seems like it would be an amazing matchup in my opinion
Given this fictional scenario would it not be true that if you did see all those decoy missiles clumped together you would still have to fire at them because they are decoys for a reason? What country is going to spend near $50 million firing decoys if not to hide real missiles among them? So surely even this brute force attempt would have to be defended against...
