They know that the Aegis system is too good to fool with a small amount of missiles so they try to overrun it.
A lot really depends upon how many weapons you can deploy against each vessel. A single missile would likely have little chance but multiple threats become more difficult to deal with.
I Guess that depends on how modern your enemy is. Google About how bad russian and sovjet designs were for the usability. Chances are high the one ukrainian missile for example was detected as a dot on the rader. And had the Operator been at 100% easily been neutralized. But sovjet design never was optimised for user experience. And that is importans as fatigue makes all Radar etc useless otherwise. So many missiles van either be better as they overwhelm the enemy, or worse as they alert the enemy sooner so he van start countermeasures.
Don't worry, we've fixed this problem and are now going to drop 10 or so of them out of a cargo plane using a pallet system, completely saturating 1 or more targets.

+Nico Montinola Even if they are stealth as Goalkeeper and similar CIWS in Russia and China's arsenal have multiband radar and optical tracking. A slow flying missile just mean it will give CIWS more time to track and engage.
high supersonic at sea level? yeah right. Not at sea level then? OK let's be detected at very long distance. Supersonic seaskimming? instantaneous detection when it pops up over the horizon. Subsonic seaskimming? less probability of fast detection after popping up over the horizon. Weapons shit is classified, how do we now it doesn't have supersonic terminal speed and/or other measures? Oh yeah because it's easy to assume ridiculously high wage weapons engineers and strategists are stupid.
If you are relying on CIWS to shoot down incoming missiles you have already lost the engagement. CIWS is the last line of defense and in most cases still results in damage to the target ship even if the CIWS successfully hits the incoming missile.
M L It's detrimental to stealth but only slightly. The F35 has been designed with low visibility pylons for external ordnance as it is, and no the LRASM will not drastically increase the RCS of the F35. A small amount of reflection between the upper surface of the weapon and the lower surface of the wing will provide a radar return, but given the strength of the F35s electronic countermeasures and overall stealthy design, it's a much better platform than FA18E/F to launch LRASM.
I like how in every one of these ads they always make the enemy completely helpless to defend against whatever thing they’re showing off. If it was that easy then there wouldn’t even be any wars.
4:35 They did, the close-in rotary cannons. This is a sub sonic sea skimming stealth missile, the radar detection range is very small. There have been multiple times where sea skimming missiles have slid past the enemy, some not even going to general quarters before the explosion. That’s the point of sea skimming ASCMs. And this happened to the ship in the video, the Moskva, in 2022, with 2 sea skimming missiles (neptunes though) and the Moskva didn’t even have time to respond, wasn’t even in battle readiness. If you design the tech and deploy it well enough, it truly is *that* easy. Even Chinese defense scientists said the LRASM stands to “change the game rules”, it’s very capable.
In this add the cruiser Moskva (discernable by its 121 hull number at 4:20) is sunk by the impact of two anti-ship cruise missiles, while sailing in calm waters. So this actually is life immitating art.
That was mostly because the radar they had couldn’t look in all directions at once. Rather than being a general weakness of modern ships. So once the Ukrainians distracted their limited radar, they had no ability to tell those missiles were incoming.

They know that the Aegis system is too good to fool with a small amount of missiles so they try to overrun it.
These offer so much utility, bought one for my wife and she loves it.
Brilliant engineering, the terminal altitude adjustment will really help the missiles dodge SAM threats and Anti-missile threats.
It does that by dodging radar.
A lot really depends upon how many weapons you can deploy against each vessel. A single missile would likely have little chance but multiple threats become more difficult to deal with.
Whole point of this system is to mitigate that. Instead of 10, you gave good chances with 1 or 2.
Already used them on the PTS. Great addition to the game.

The blip in the radar would just remain for a few second and it would dive to near surface levels so it wouldn't get detected by radar, you only see clearly when its too late
Subsonic ASM is like bringing a prop plane to a jet dogfight.
even f they r stealth?
Finally someone who knows what they are talking about.
If you are relying on CIWS to shoot down incoming missiles you have already lost the engagement. CIWS is the last line of defense and in most cases still results in damage to the target ship even if the CIWS successfully hits the incoming missile.
I'm very curious, why doesn't a LM video uses F-35, and instead use a Boeing plane. Does the F-35 support the missile?
Aerohk hmm good question
Sure does both f-35 f-22 do plus the missile no one mentioned yet. The us top secret anti ship missiles
Aerohk because f 35 is totally junk
F35A, B and C will al mount it externally in later software upgrades. Not an issue as the LRASM itself is a lower RCS than the F35.
Where can I read about the Chinese defense scientists saying this? @@nebblepoppishire3037

Pick a stormy day with aid of targeting measure and let it fly. Up yours Ruski
Realty just showed us that once been blinded by a preliminary drone attack, battle ships are absolutely unprotected against such attacks.
That was mostly because the radar they had couldn’t look in all directions at once. Rather than being a general weakness of modern ships. So once the Ukrainians distracted their limited radar, they had no ability to tell those missiles were incoming.
