Thank you; I never heard this particular live version before. Yes, I know: he sounds frightened, confused, he's lost control of his stutter. The people up front are being demanding, almost rude. He handles them easily and just speaks to them individually. Incredible, especially under the circumstances. But then the song, this special song begins, and is so lovely and perfect. Gosh, he was just communicating *directly" to those people there with this understated, beautiful rendition of the song I am always thinking of when I stand before his grave. I bend and tell him that I love him. The first time, I had bent to place a single rose. There was only a little chain rope in April 1979, no ironwork. I kneeled into the mud (it had rained all night). And those lines wafted into my head as I did so. I hope my tears made his grave richer and sweeter. Thank you again Queen Drea. (Hope I spelled it right.)
This song always makes me cry. It is about a grandfather sending his grandson (Danny Boy) off to war. The Bag Pipes are calling the clans to war. Probably Catholics and Protestants. I don't think this is one of Elvis's best.
That's a real nice old song.
Real nice live version of the songin 1976.
So beautiful!❤️
Beautiful...live too, an amazing talent.
BEAUTIFUL AS ALWAYS ELVIS
Smooth voice
Holy shit man, whats almost made a salty tear pop out of my eye.
I was at that concert in Tucson AZ. So love him and his music. Gone too soon.
How lucky you were to be at the concert when he sang "Danny Boy". So beautiful!

He may have lost his Greek God-like looks by 1976 but he never lost his God given voice.
That was beautiful. Queen drea

Hi there, if you like the deep voice, look out for J.D. Sumner and the stamps, Elvis's Backup Group for many years.
get the right one
