Awesome deck, Demo. Every time I do the collection scour, I come across this commander and tell myself "one day, I'll build it". This has given me the nudge I needed. My favourite EDH channel on UA-cam
Awesome deck. It looks like a lot of fun to play. I ordered it on cardmarket and put it under my Christmas tree. Thank you for your wonderful video ❤️📹
i just build Rilsa using your deck for inspiration. Holy cow this card is a power house. I built mine to be more aligned as a control deck. Basic game plan of deploy pillowfort cards early and get out rilsa and follow it up with a boardwipe. The longer the game goes, the higher the chances of winning becomes. Ultimately if you get to a 1 v 1 situation, you should always have the edge. played 4 games so far. won 3.
Strionic Resonator is even better than you mentioned. Not only can it double up on Rilsa's abilities to give +10 power or move through the dungeon twice, but the dungeon abilities themselves are triggered abilities, so if you move into the throne of the dead three, for example, you can get that twice. I would play the resonator in all my dungeon decks, but it's especially good here.
12:34 Isn't Necropolis Regent a little better though? She's one black mana more and doesn't have the ward but she makes it apply to all creatures you control.
8:01 Added benefit of etrata here that didnt get mentioned: since theres a blink subtheme, you can blink etrata in response to her ability so that she doesnt shuffle back into the deck with some of the instant speed blink effects.
Since I already did monoG collect-a-thon dungeons (every green and colorless dungeon card ever printed) with Varis (Silverymoon Ranger) at the helm, including enough space left to do monoG elves as a sub-theme, I got started on Rakdos dungeons with Safana, and I hope to eventually pair her up with Guild Artisan instead of Tavern Brawler. Sefris, Rasaad, Imoen, and Rilsa didn't really appeal to me nearly as much as delving into dungeons yet again, but with Rakdos artifact shenanigans, and I get to use Acererak and Zalto in the same deck. On a side note, those 4/1 black skeleton tokens with menace are ridiculously difficult to pull in booster packs... at least so far.
I made an Imoen/far traveler Blink initiative deck. It ended up being a "solitaire" "draw into win condition" "win out of nowhere" deck. It wasn't very fun for anyone to play against. I might eventually approach it from a different angle to make it more interactive. The mana curve of dungeon/initiative is pretty crap. Strionic resonator and Panharmonicon are incredibly strong. Hama pashar + dungeon delver are also absolutely insane.
I've wanted to build this guy for a while; honestly, to me, he seems like just a simple, off-color beatdown commander; you just jam your deck full of good creatures with evasion, a little dungeon support, and top your curve with some big, scary tramplers, and you just beat in over and over with like a 14/9 trample/flying/first-strike/deathtouch keyword soup behemoth that you cheated out on the first guy that complains about your deck being "boring vanilla keyword-matters". To me, the most exciting thing about this guy is the idea of pumping a trampler with power, first strike, AND deathtouch; it basically turns any big trampler into a boardwipe on a stick, and there are plenty that have other good text (Razaketh or Doom Whisperer come to mind, even something more budget like Demon of Loathing would do some serious work)
Great commander, I wanted to create one with "the initiative" but decided to go with imoen and folk hero, this was my second opion. I love initiative mechanic
I have a Rasad yn Bashir/Dungeon Delver one, it is really good and fun to play (I have an Arcades one too, but they are very different to that one even if they look alike)
Thrakkus, The butcher is "bad" because he's expensive, low power, and doesn't have haste for his own attack trigger. But there's a lot of kit to enable him and i think it makes a fun and explosive casual deck. Use changelings and the newer humanoid dragons from the d&d sets.
Lightning Greaves is a bit of a non-bo in this deck, because shroud turns off both Rilsa's ability and the Forge room in the dungeon. I got burned by that the first time I played the deck.
I see her as kind of the opposite of gix or edric, they staple a combat damage effect onto evasive creature, she staples evasion onto creatures with combat damage effects
On the pole, i voted for myojin because it looks like the bigger challenge to do something cool with, but denri or the grixis one are the ones that look more fun to play.
I builted my rilsa starting with all the ub innitiative cards, 8 x fatty and 4 hasty equipment... and only cast rilsa when we are at the last 2nd room. I 14/9 wurmcoil engine is no joke
Paradox haze is good. However everyone is sleeping on the sphinx of the second sun. Big time over performer. You get the extra upkeep, but also the draw and untap stapled to a large flying body.
I think I like Sphinx better for this deck for a couple reasons. 1) it's a creature so you can get it into play off of the final room of the undercity. It can also help end the game being an evasive beater. 2) you get the beginning phase after your combat so you get the benefits more immediately, and if you don't have the initiative during your upkeep, you can take it back before second upkeep
I know you probably hate the new transformers but can you do a take on them. Particularly starscream. I plan on building megatron and maybe Soundwave but I loved starscream from the show and he seems super weak so idk if it's worth it.
There is the Double Room trigger background.
dungeon delver
@@Helios810 Thank you, that’s the one.
The only reason I like commander any more is these videos of yours. Nicely done.
Wow, thanks!
Baldurs Gate is a real treasure trove. Initiative and Backgrounds are so much fun.
Awesome deck, Demo. Every time I do the collection scour, I come across this commander and tell myself "one day, I'll build it". This has given me the nudge I needed.

thanks. glad to hear it.

It's always a good day when you upload. Another great video!

This is the first commander I brewed for a friend and it's always a nuisance to deal with, so I'm pretty happy with the result. Great video!

Westgate Regent is just a good creature in general and really nice to see cephalid Constable getting some love.
I was about to make a Safana/Dungeon Delver deck.... this episode is making me thinking about doing a Rilsa one instead, thanks!

Ty I was wondering how cool the King pin lady was in terms of art style but could see how hard it was to play it as a commander.

Looks like a super fun deck! Soo many good commanders from this set.

All these cards will work well in my Kamiz deck, ty!
With Westgate Regent always comes Necropolis Regent. 😉
Booyah - new vids from the man!
I see her as kind of the opposite of gix or edric, they staple a combat damage effect onto evasive creature, she staples evasion onto creatures with combat damage effects
Funi acererak rooftop storm combo can go in here
What about clones? Specifically ones like Sakashima and Spark Double. Making extra copies of anything in the deck could be good?
Maybe instead of underwhelming do underplayed commanders? That would give you more to choose from? Either way always enjoy this series 😊👍

I've wanted to build this Commander since I came out but never really gotten around to it unfortunately
You're missing Vorrac Battlehorns, which will make all creatures with Menace unblockable.

I love it
Could you do a poll that has the least amount of decks from Jumpstart?
pretty much every commander from that set is already really popular.
@@edhdeckbuildingsan, let's add Dragonlord Atarka to your next poll then.
I know you probably hate the new transformers but can you do a take on them. Particularly starscream. I plan on building megatron and maybe Soundwave but I loved starscream from the show and he seems super weak so idk if it's worth it.
Actually surprised that Rilsa Rael appeared on this series since she's a total murder machine
