The Patron Saint of casual commander has blessed us with a special episode 🙏 I love hearing you talk about the stuff you're really interested in Edit: I think I'm gonna have to make a Donal deck now lol
I found your channel 2 days ago and have been binging. I wish we had more channels like this that give out more unique and interesting decks than what's the most powerful
Want to come over and say that I built Moritte and played them in my weekly game last Sunday. I didnt go with the land build you suggested (though it does sound funny) but because of this video I ended up thinking of him for a great sliver commander! I realized you dont loose much juice when you cut out the other colors, and slivers and changelings have an interesting synergy in that they both want to make other things into their own tribe. Moritte can come down and copy a beefy anthem effect, and also does a soft combo with cards like Call to the Kindred to just barf out as many slivers as I can onto the board. Simic-style baby!
I'm genuinely excited you worked out the entire Moritte land deck. I thought it was such an really interesting and unique idea when you went into it on the video you introduced it and was really curious to see where you'd go without if you finished it off. Well that day has come and I thank you greatly!
Some fun builds. It's funny, I also decided to build a virtual deck around Embrose, same concept--a lot of overlap. From this list, Bontu, Donal, and Storrev are particularly interesting to me.
I just finished building a jaya ballard deck after she appeared previously in the series. Was hoping to see your own take of her here but nonetheless these are very nice options to think about too
Awesome. Love the underused / underdog cards. But also I had bushi tenderfoot all these years and have wanted to make it work. It doesn't unless you have another card to force a bad block.
Inspired by your vid I built a budget storrev deck too and it's so fun to play! Lately I'm thinking of trying Old stickfingers too, his ability is so cool for a reanimator deck. I tried to build a ludevic deck too, but it's pretty difficult with a low budget :/
Im mad. I love all of these decks but I don't want to build them all to keep being a responsible adult. AAAAAHHHH choices. Really good episode, all of these decks are fire but especially Huo Tao. Always liked that guy and the build is super involved with lots of triggers and niche interactions that only he can make work. That'll most likely be the build I go with from this list, but damn Brigid is also pretty sweet.
Hua Tao goes interestingly infinite with the green untapper on etb (Hyrax Tower Scout?) and a sac outlet with the card you mentioned. Could easily be Altar of Dementia for mill or something else.
I actually really like the idea of Diaochan. Its a great idea to have a single low threat card that you can easily politic with, in Mono Red no less, sounds like an amazing time
Yeah, I know, it’s an idea that makes look like a crazy person. BUT, with Osgir’s abilities and his interactions with Artifact Lands, as well as the improvements to White’s land ramp and the options for getting more lands on field with Artifacts, it’s actually doable. Only issue would be the quality of a portion of Landfall cards in Red & White, but still usable overall
Neon Dynasty Underwhelming commander: Tameshi, Reality Architect, 163 decks so far. The Toadrider has doubled that, LOL. I haven't ever made an Azorius deck, maybe it is just not my play style but Tameshi seems really interesting and flexible with a subtle landfall strategy, Enchantments and Artifacts :P
I've always loved the concept of Meren, but it's just too much salt factor. I've always looked at Storrev as a great alternate. I like the idea of adding zombie and elf support to make her get that combat damage in. Makes me think it's a commander you can have swappable with Abomination of Llanowar, and just play which one you're feeling that day.
what do you use to playtest decks online? ive started brewing some decks of my own and would like to be able to playtest them before i get them in paper
As somebody whohas played against Donal's Ducks, he's anything but underwhelming. It just fuckin buries you in value, with counterspells to back it up. Plus it's flying tribal, which kinda bumps it up like two points in power level on that alone given how rarely people run fliers in EDH aside from like the ocasional dragon.

Bless you Demo for sharing all your work !
you are welcome good sir.
Yes more Asmira content! I'm on the face about getting the deck
Thank you for this video, i think i'll swap my meren into Storrev. Fauna Shaman is a good budget alternative for survival of the fittest btw

Thank you for adding links 😁

Favorite MTG channel on UA-cam 👍

That Moritte build is hilarious and amazing. Also Gadrak is a staple in the 99 of my red decks. So much value for 3 mana
Maaaaan I loved that soldier deck, brings back memories :,)
5:10 How have I literally never ever seen Donal before? crazy
If you ever do an idea with a popular commander, I’d like to suggest: Osgir the Reconstructer… As a Landfall commander
Yeah, I know, it’s an idea that makes look like a crazy person. with moritte if you copy a man land while its a creatures does it get the counters?
Looooove, thanks for the info and ideas!
I love my Donal deck, guess ill be seeing more around now :)

Mirage Mirror in Moritte. That is all
mirage mirror is an absolute house in morrite, no matter what route you go (clones w/ biovisionary as the wincon, land voltron, or lords tribal)
Dude, I use verdant succession in my mono green mill build. It's pretty good.

I am building the honoroed physician, and it feels likes its going to be fun

xmage
@@edhdeckbuilding thank you!
My very first mono black deck was bontu and I liked her :( but I swapped her for Yahenni
Diaochan needs indestructible. And a whole lot of cheap tokens on your side.
Kusari-Gama would be wild if it was the creature that did the damage, instead if Kusari

In the hua tuo u forgot the greater good
Please make reya dawnbringer !
