- Among several political races this fall, Montana voters will have to select the candidate to fill one of our two seats in the U.S. Senate for the next 6-year term. Incumbent Senator Jon Tester (D) is being challenged by Tim Sheehy (R). Through this hour-long production, recorded live on Sunday, June 9, 2024, both candidates will have a platform to debate the issues important to Montanans, through a variety of questions posed by a select panel of four journalists from across Montana. Produced by the Montana Broadcasters Association, and funded, in part, by the Greater Montana Foundation.

We , in our county,were fortunate today to have Mr. Sheehy as a guest speaker, in our city park, in Fort Benton, Montana. There is a lot of support for him in Chouteau County,,, Testers home county. Good luck to Tim!!!

Montana is a pro-choice state. You will learn that in November, regardless of who wins this Senatorial contest. You will see the same thing happen in every state that has the courage to allow their citizens the choice of whether or not to allow abortion care.

To be clear, are you saying that sending billions to the Ukraine, without oversight, or even discussion of a repayment plan is better for America than spending that money on securing our border for example. How about actually spending some of it, say 1 billion on veteran assistance, or even mental healthcare for those living on the streets that really cannot look after themselves. Redirecting funds to internal issues is a noble principle, albeit a totally inadequate one because soon, if Russia is allowed to advance into every country they want to without fear of consequences, there will be no borders and your funding for the “border wall” will be as good as the tax dollars you spend everyday on a yogurt that the next day is completely gone. More war refugees, more people coming to America from war torn nations, they will just find bigger ladders to scale your tax payer funded completely useless wall. While the War in Ukraine was raging, Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act, the biggest package ever on Manufacturing and on Climate, and I don’t remember the money in the package being smaller because too much money was going to Ukraine. When the Biden Administration wrote, along with the most conservative US Senators, a Border Bill that pretty much solved the fentanyl issue, as well as the backlog of cases of asylum seekers, I don’t remember the bill having a lesser monetary value because of the War in Ukraine. If fighting for freedom and democracy and against autocratic regimes or the supremacy of the Russia-Chinese axis in the enter world isn’t an enough value for you to defend aid to the countries that help the United States maintain their worldwide supremacy, although indirectly, then I recommend the USA to step off the high horse and just say you give up on fighting against Putin and any other world leaders who threaten the very principles you have for granted in your life. Stop being selfish and help others achieve what you have achieved. As I said, funding for Ukraine and internal issues aren’t mutually exclusive.
