Part 1 - 1920's Coleman Stove found - Breakfast GOES ON !!!!

- I picked up this antique stove at the international convention this weekend and it is really awesome.
From what I can tell I believe this is one of the three models of the model nine stove. I believe this is called the early model.
Frome the Terry Marsh website, it looks like this stove was possibly manufactured 1924 -1926 making this stove almost a hundred years old.
Unfortunately, I'm finding that there must be some sort of packing or gasket leak in the main valve right in the front of the generator.
I'm as far as I can go on this one until I can read up and possibly find some new parts or help.
Stay tuned for a part 2 at some point when I can get the parts.
Until then, I'm gonna wrap this video up with some breakfast on the Coleman five hundred single burner stove.
Thank you for watching
The 1920 coleman stove looks great Steve.
That’s a cool stove! Can’t wait to see it running.
Stuff like that happens regularly to me. It happens. Thank you for sharing your breakfast with us, Steve. Stay safe and stay cool
Awesome stove Steve. even better recovery, Breakfast looked awesome as well thank you for bringing us along

Howdy John !!!!!!! Thank you 😊
Cool old stove! Can't wait till you get her all fixed up and burning hot.
Yes , maybe this fall I will tear into it. Thanks Robertb, have a good week ok , great seeing you and Mathew !!!!!
Neat stuff, my friend. It's not a fail when at the end you still end up with steak and eggs. ❤❤❤
Right ! Not a bad constellation right ?
Not a stovie ? 6 stoves lol . That old Coleman looks great , won’t be long and you will have it fixed . Don’t know if any other valve stem packing will fit , but you will get to the bottom of it steve . Thanks for taking us along this weekend
Thanks the Scott , yes no stovie here buddy 😀😃🙂🙃😊😇😀😃🙂🙃😊😇
I suck at working on packings sadly ..... not time better now to learn 😀
It’s a nice stove. I’m confident you will fix the leak. 1924….thats old and the condition is great. Enjoy your Steak, Eggs and Hashbrowns!
Thank you. I hope you're right. This one concerns me a bit define parts so we'll see how it goes
Nice stove. I can't wait for a follow-up video. I see you have a big bobber cooler. I just got at my local thrift store.👍🏻
Yes, I just picked up that big bobber. It's pretty cool apparently it floats. Yes, regarding the stove. I was disappointed. I think I can fix it but II don't do well with replacing packings. They're very difficult, but we'll see what happens
Thanks joe
Hi Steve! Very busy here too. Happy to stop by and watch this latest video my friend!
Thank you very much Garry for your valuable time. I'm much appreciate when you stop by you, always bring a glow to the channel. How's the house selling coming along????
6 stoves?!?!? Holy Moly! !! I can't wait to see what you all got. Im sure that you will be cooking on that one in no time.
I hope so , it's a pretty gnarly leak , 😔 well see , yes 6 stoves 😀
Wow! That’s a century old! I dig it brother! I can’t wait to see the fix!
Yes , I really want to see it go don't you! If I can get it to go , might be the best 40 bucks I spent at the show .
@@doinsngoins For sure! 👍🏻
Nice hot blaster!!
Sad though, leaks like all get out .....
@@doinsngoins not a tough fix.
It uses either a 1/4” or 5/16” Coleman graphite packing.
Just go easy with the generator crush rods and needle assembly.
now that is some cool stuff
Wow! I never saw one of those all complete and not rusted out. That’s very cool… will be cooler when you get that leak fixed. Cold breakfast is better than no breakfast… especially on a hot day! The boys on the bus are gonna have fun with you buying stoves at the meet, that’s for sure!
Haaahaa , I know , I did buy 1 lantern !
I'm not tracking sorry 😐
Looks like I may have a source that can help , sadly this will need to go on the project list Haaahaaa
@@doinsngoins 👍🏻
Not here Ryan
What a shame, that's a cool stove! Hopefully it's a simple fix
Yes, looking into parts now
6 STOVES!!!!! HOLY MOLLY !!!! cant even wait to see these
We were wondering about the color it old paint , not a rattle can either, I kinda like it 😀
Thanks Greg , August is comming !
@@doinsngoins PACKWOOD HERE WE COME!!!!!
@greatoutdoorsgear7538 yes , shall we coordinate Greg ????
@@doinsngoins yes so i guess we need to think of a area to try and camp close to town and decide what days we will stay,
I've had my colman two burner gas fired stove for over 50 years I run it on regular gas because it runs just fine you don't need to buy the Coleman expensive fuel also the older stoves did not use Chinese Parts as they do now... blessings
Expensive white gas ? Haa haaa , take a look at the can Friend it's 20 + year old yard sale fuel , Haaahaa , you dropped in to just say RUG is better and cheaper that white gas ? OK 👌 thanks for your opinion and 👋 hello , thanks for stopping by and sharing 😊
@@doinsngoinsglad you thought my comment was funny but I do like the fact that I carry lots of fuel in my vehicle which will run both my camp stove and my Lantern blessings to you and yours coming at you from the hills of Southern Oregon
@fosterkennel649 Haaa haa HOWDY neighbor! Yes, I do think it's funny. The entire controversy of regular fuels and white fuels. It just goes right over my head because I. Almost never pay full price for fuel I. Usually get fuel for free. Because a yard seal sale so frequently, Sometimes I buy fuel for a dollar a can. But when The Crown fuel comes on sale at Walmart for like 12 box. I will definitely buy a few of those jugs from time to time
@fosterkennel649 I don't use RUG just because I don't have too , in my experience every time that i've burned gasoline, the heads get sooty
Honestly. I don't stress about any of this stuff. It's just for 😁
man ithats a awesome stove to bad she never fired up in this vid. tho. I got the 502 stove you sent me in my camp gear on my bike ready for a camp out
SWEET you gonna do a camp video ? That would be awesome 👌 be safe Friend 🧡
those things happen good looking breakfeast cold or hot
Well see how it goes Howard 🤷
I fry my eggs the same way .
Haaa haaa , Thanks Tony ,Delicious 😊 🙏
Hi Steve, I noticed your hat. Did you attend CMA and/or teach there? What year? I was class of 86 2E. I came across your video while working on my Coleman 426D that we have had in the family since the 1960s.
PIPER !!!! No, my nephew in Vallejo. California Graduated from there. Oh boy, at least 5 years ago. He is an engineer on the tuggs there in the SF bay now
Thank you for noticing. It was quite an accomplishment for him and I'm proud as 👊 🤜 punch
Also, thank you very much for watching the channel and the kindness
