That's the weird thing about this song. Its so popular as a celebratory song of self-discovery and personal freedom from the bonds of societal expectations, but in the plot it functions as a point in which Elsa is isolating herself and cutting herself off from all relationships. As much as she needs the self discovery, ultimately the song, the mountain, the ice castle, everything about it is just... sad.
yeah the beginning was kind of confusing? it wouldn’t echo that much in reality, which was kind of the realistic feel they were going for in this. a bit exaggerated imo, but it’s not too much of a problem :)
I am shocked at how much better this is than the original version. People are using terms like "emotionally accurate" and "expressive" and they're totally on point. I wish they'd make a musical number for a lonely character by doing something like this in another movie.
It's just unfamiliar, if you went your whole life without instruments like in this video and you suddenly saw a version with these sounds you had never heard before, it would be 10x more shocking going from singing with no music to with it than the opposite way that you've experienced. But because we have been spoiled with beautiful music all our lives, it seems revolutionary to hear someone sing without it but it reality we've lost our appreciation so now we have it backwards
I feel the movie wanted a different feel This truly shows an inner sadness and loneliness While the movie wanted to go for freedom and emancipation, wonderment at what elsa can achieve when not restricted by anything.

So there was actually an interview where the voice of Elsa (Idina Menzel) explained that, and she said she was told to pause super briefly at some points of the song, making it that much more difficult to sing. However, it adds a really nice touch that makes the scene just that much more realistic (not the ice queen's are realistic in the first place)

3:19 did her braid just go through her shoulder-..?:,)
Why does this hit way more than the original...
Isabelle draws art because she’s singing to herself in isolation on a frozen mountain instead of to the audience like the original. An orchestra during a solo in movies makes it seem choreographed rather than personal. :)
singing alone on an isolated mountain
You said this in a other video off let it go speeded up HMMm
It’z Lola Wdym? This is the only ‘let it go’/ Frozen song I have ever commented on/ seen
Isabelle draws art huh
I actually kinda like this. Without the music it feels a WHOLE lot more realistic.
I accept

"Let the storm rage onnnnn"
*Silence as we just hear the castle getting built*
I'm wondering the same thing in the now.
Built*
She probably meant it figuratively
actually its more like "ooooooon" because with singing you always hold the vowel, not the consonant.
@Coizay lol
Man. This gave me chills. Is it weird that it almost brought me to tears, legitimately?
Without the music, Elsa be like
"Since I'm here alone, let's sing"
She always sing when shes alone🥺
Elsa coronation: you'll never see me cry
Me and the boys at movie theater
Me: (EARRAPES himself)
Me: ALRIGHT BOYS LOOK AT THAT ELSA CORONATION AT THE MOVIE THEATER AND TAKE OFF THE CAPE IN MOUNTAIN WHAT THE HELL WRONG FOR YOU

matt walter “sweethert”
That's the weird thing about this song. Its so popular as a celebratory song of self-discovery and personal freedom from the bonds of societal expectations, but in the plot it functions as a point in which Elsa is isolating herself and cutting herself off from all relationships. As much as she needs the self discovery, ultimately the song, the mountain, the ice castle, everything about it is just... sad.

it was weird but I still got goosebumps! this shows what a masterpiece this is
I love how it echoes because shes in the mountain
Yeeeees!
You’re a smart guy aren’t you. It doesn’t even echo so much in reality.
Sounds more like she's in some weird cathedral though. The echo is to close and to roomy
yeah the beginning was kind of confusing? it wouldn’t echo that much in reality, which was kind of the realistic feel they were going for in this. a bit exaggerated imo, but it’s not too much of a problem :)
you'll never hear so echoes in snow, it absorbed vibrations
This is what I imagine Disney Characters hear when they sing.
Still I would kill to be a Disney character and hear them sing acapella like this.
Thats the joke
Chills. It feels more powerful without the instruments.
Wow
There isn’t anything powerful about her. All she did was run away from her problems.

Wtf 2k like without comment?
Naomi Beattie XD I love this
Naomi Beattie ikr
Naomi Beattie yes lol
See this absolutely feels like the kind of song you'd make up when you were on top of a stormy mountain
You only have 2 replies,it looks weird let me fix that
I feel the movie wanted a different feel
This truly shows an inner sadness and loneliness
While the movie wanted to go for freedom and emancipation, wonderment at what elsa can achieve when not restricted by anything.
“LET THE STORM Rage 0O0O0O0oOo0°0°°°°°o0°n”

i love how theres 5 seconds of silence
Best part definetively

Oh my god, the part where you can't hear her when she's far away is too realistic lol.

Are we just NOT going to point out that she has been singing LITERALLY all night?
No. She started singing just before sunrise.

animelover narutoforever so true lol
*what do I say next?*
I love this version! It has something special. It feels less far away..
