Hot take: Titanfall failed because the pilot movement and Titan gameplay filters most people. The skillgap is too high. It filtered COD players and all the people who said titanfall did it better don’t want to play titanfall either. TL;DR: titanfall is too based for society.
Disagree, titanfall has casual elements like grunt ai and titan gameplay is simple to grasp. I got one of my friends to play and they could easily play titan or kill grunts to help the team
People just suck at coping and adapting, that’s why Titanfall commercially failed. I came from Roblox FPS games such as Weaponry and believe me, these games suck so much that I don’t even want to look at them now after I played Titanfall.
I wouldn’t say TF1 was amazing. It was alright. Had tons of potential. I don’t even believe TF2 is the best game ever but it’s still tons of fun and a good game
Warning: shit ton of text Titanfall has been my favorite game for a while, 2 or 3 years, i have the game in both PC and playstation. Let me tell you its a fucking blast, i know from first hand the PC servers are sweaty and its mostly unplayable for first timers, console tho is preety laid back, to this day i boot up the ps5 and play for a bit You can still find matches somewhat reliably (tho it might take a few mins of searching) on console at least and it's really a nice experience you don't usually have to worry about sweats on console most of the time, but you don't have Northstar and you have to pay for online like any other game I still recommend the game to most people and I've bought it as a gift 2 or 3 times for friends to try, truly its a must play. Even if the multiplayer is hard af you still have the story mode and gauntlet to get your level up a bit for multiplayer. overall it's a really nice game with a really nice community and it's still one of the best gems out there to this day

For a community to thrive you need updates, communication with the players, making new modes etc but titanfall 2 unfortunately got updated twice I believe and nothing new was added which meant that the games was eventually destined to fall again. But yk what’s the difference now at least it is playable and if you want to play it you can play it unlike when the game was getting ddosed
Please save titanfall 1 for the 10th anniversary! The servers are alive! Its a super small group but some still try! You just have to get past EA'S stupid pc app and you're in! Yo can still buy the first game but you HAVE to buy the delux edition!
Mastiff and Spitfire players are definitely Toxic. Literally two of the easiest weapons to get kills without any skills. Mastiff players just got to get close and tap once. Spitfire players just got to camp. Believe me I would know.

As much as I would love to say that Titanfall 2 is the best game ever, sadly due to the fundamental sweaty/high skill nature of this game and mismanagement by the developers, the multiplayer aspect was always going to fall off with a casual audience whether we, the diehard community, liked it or not. As it stands, I believe the multiplayer playerbase is definitely far from dead but who knows how long that'll last. Especially since outside of Attrition and like 2 other modes, there's really nobody else playing the alternate modes (Well actually Frontier Defense is still decently popular). Hell, when we got the surprise playlist updates, I only played them for like a week and nowadays I'm convinced that either nobody plays the mixtape mode or that matchmaking is broken. As for Apex, as far as I've seen its popularity is actually higher compared to its first two years of its lifespan and I usually see the negativity from its old guard playerbase. So as much as I would love to see Titanfall 3, its probably not gonna happen in the near future but who really knows, am I right? Anyways, I've rambled long enough and I just wanna say that I like your style! Hope to see more of your stuff in the future!

I feel like the high skill gap drove away most people,it takes time to get good, most COD players have decent aim which is great but aim can only get you so far.
I played it for campaign but multiplayer is solid nah for me... Getting dunked on from hundred meters spawn death, spawn death without any counterplay with TTK of 2µs. Campaign is legendary I dont deny it I had a blast for FPS campaign it comes to masterpieces like Half Life, Crysis 1, Doom.
Still playing the game daily. So good. And every game has something totally different. You even learn new things and it is just never the same boring thing
Ive heard that they fixed titanfall 2 just for Apex and also all of the best employees that made tf2 left so even if they released tf3 it wouldn't hit the same as tf2
I remember seeing about 10000 active players in Titanfall2 well on the data center I was playing on xbox but now it looks like about 4-5k stayed 😭 we lost good pilots after the ddos attacks.

BF 1 and TF2 were launch at the same time but BF1 has much higher active players I can't fking find a single pilot vs pilot mode in TF 2 .
