- I'm back with a my series for Best & Worst Staterooms on @RoyalCaribbean Ships. Today's video is the Independence of the Seas.
How are those corner aft balconies? What about the Ben & Jerry's "Sweet"? Have you heard of the "stripper pole" rooms? I go over all of these today.
If you are an experienced RCCL cruiser, these videos are probably not for you. These videos are geared towards cruise novices or those new to Royal Caribbean.
These videos are long and not intended to be watched in their entirety. Feel free to skip to the section you are interested in using the chapters below.
As I mention in the video, check out @RoyalCaribbeanBlog for all information about Royal Caribbean. I used CruiseStateroom.com for the deck plans.

Thanks! Your review of RCCL Independence was amazing!
Thanks so much for the Super Thanks! It is much appreciated
Thank you Shannon, booking on Independence and the info on the Panoramic Oceanview cabins was really helpful!
Yay! Have an amazing cruise!
@@ShannonFord I’m going to be Diamond on Royal after next cruises, going to the Norway Fjords before they close next year! And taking my first Princess cruise, too. Thanks!
Awesome! Our first RC cruise ever. Guaranteed Balcony and we received Deck 10 Room 1400. We can’t wait to go.
Wow! What a score!!!! Enjoy!
How was room 1400? We are going in 2 days and nervous about noise in this room
Thank you for making this detailed video! We are going on our very first sailing on Independence in a few days and just won our Royal Up bid to a Spacious Oceanfront Balcony! We are so excited!
Congrats! So exciting when a RoyalUp comes though. We have some for our sailing on 3/20, but it's not looking good
We're on Independence 3/28. First cruise for all of us! Waiting to hear about our bid as well!
@@christina5046 We just got off the ship yesterday and we had so much fun! Make the most of your Coco Cay day bc it was our favorite part! Get up early and enjoy the whole day there. I wish we would have eaten a much lighter breakfast so we could have enjoyed more food on the island bc it was so good! The Snack Shack chicken sandwich was really good and we loved the steak tacos too! Didn’t get to try anything else bc we were so full! I hope you have an amazing cruise!☺️
@@floridafamilyfun1597 I purchased the Coco beach club full day pass because that day is our 10 yr anniversary, but we can come and go as we please all day long from what I understand. I've considered canceling it though. Any opinions about that?
@@christina5046 that will be super awesome too! There was plenty to see and do without the Coco Beach Club for sure but since you are celebrating, I say go for it! You can go back again another time and expect he rest of the food/island!
Thank you. Big help!
Glad it helped!

Luiz here 🤗❤️🎸🎵
Hope keep intouch ❤️🤗
Thanks so much! We are going on royal in February with a child and I’m even more glad now that we are cruising At the rear on the 10th floor.
On the Independence? If so that’s a great location. It’s so close to everything you will visit most.
@@ShannonFord yes it’s on independence.six of us going so far and it will be my second cruise thanks to my beautiful daughter! For years she begged me to go but I was a chicken haha . Now I’d go every day that I could!
@@jacquelineinthewoods my husband was the same way. I made him go on a cruise in 2008 and he was convinced he’d hate it. Now we love it. We took a break when my son was young, but now he’s the perfect age for cruising
@@ShannonFord ❤️
@@ShannonFord I wanted to be more prepared on my second cruise and that’s how I found you . Thank you for doing what you do it’s so helpful for me!
I’m a travel agent thank you for the support!🙏🏻
We're going next year! What do you think of connecting balconies on deck 7? I wanted deck 8 but it shouldn't be bad.. I think. :D
7 isn’t bad, but it’s purely a stateroom deck. But you are only 1 flight of stairs from the Boardwalk or Central Park/
But just keep checking. Cabins open up all the time
@@ShannonFord Thank you! :D
❤️❤️
Don't be kind happy and warm about it ... we're Diamond status too there's definitely definitely loud noise from the above pool deck early in the morning !
Do you mean deck 10? We're in room 1400 in a couple days and nervous about noise
I’m considering booking Deck 9 jr. suite near the stairs and elevators, but concerned there will be too much hallway noise. I’m traveling with kids and don’t want too much noise to wake us.
Nope, it’s very separated.
Do those aft suites on deck 10 connect
Hi, can you help me with a question? Does the Windjammer make noise on the ceiling? Deck 10
How about Deck 9- Room 9670 & 9672?
How about Deck 9- Rooms 9670 & 9672?
How do you think a Promenade interior on deck 8 compares to a Panoramic oceanview on deck 12?
A regular room? The Promenade Interior will be much smaller. Now the Spacious Promenade are where it’s at. For us, the Panoramic Oceanview and the Spacious Promenade Interior were the same price and we went with the spacious. (On freedom) This will be next month and I will be posting vlogs to report back
@@ShannonFord yes a regular Promenade room. First RCCL cruise on the 3rd. We are in a regular Promenade on deck midship. Submitted a Royal up bid for Panoramic view. I’ve never sailed in a cabin that high or all the way forward.
I don't have any personal experience, but everyone I know that has sailed in one loves them.
Also, I did a recap of my cruise in July and I talked about Royal Up. I didn't get the email until 7pm the night before we sailed that I had won my bid.
I have booked room 8514 spacious ocean view cabin... whats your thoughts?
Not bad. Don't think there's anything special about it. It is all the way forward so you will have a long walk to anywhere on the ship.
I’m on 8636. And I got It through the Royal up program. Never have had a balcony before. What do you think?
Wow! Great cabin especially through RoyalUp. It’s a Hump cabin and right next to Aft elevators! Very very lucky!
@@ShannonFord I saw!! I just looked where it’s at when seeing your video! Can’t believe we got so lucky! I basically bid like 200 less than It would cost to have gotten the room initially… and yesterday I got the email saying we won the bid. Then I saw the room number and look It up. Wow! Lol lucky indeed
@@ShannonFord what does hump cabin mean and why is that better?
@@SwayPromo the curve of the ship. Balconies may be a little bigger. But location is usually mid-ship. Your location is excellent. We LOVE being right next to the Aft elevator
@@ShannonFord awesome! I did see we were next to elevators which is awesome!
Can you tell me who your travel agent is
There’s 2 listed in the description box. Jamie specializes in Royal Caribbean.
What is your suggestion 1384?
It really depends on your budget and what category you are looking at
@@ShannonFord first time..I have room 1384
There are 3 of us travelling with my 11yr old. I am a light sleeper and got deck 2 oceanview. Wondering about the noise and if I should try and get a higher level?
Hi can you please let me know how is deck 10 room 1347. It will be helpful
